FE of My cbr is around 32 in both city and highways average an a for service interval company recommends every 6000 kms where ur oil cost for is approx 600 plus general service cost plus labour etc would add upto another 400.
Oil filter replacement schedule is give a few post ahead by shv18 please refer.

You dont have to oil filter every time and also coolant replacement not required everytime.. Only top up if needed which is approx 300 rs per 150 ML.

      Hi Sharathchandra,

I normally use CBR 250R on highways to commute daily to my office and occasionally to my home(approx. 70 Kms one way), I get an average of 32 KMPL with mixed driving style.
The max I got with good speeds with lesser gearshifts was 37 KMPL and the worst is 26 KMPL.

Coming to heat issues in bumper to bumper traffic, yes there is a little bit of heat thrown to the lower part of the legs, but if you wear fully covered cloths/gears/shoes then this will not be a problem.

And finally my suggestion is to go for CBR 250R if you usage is more towards Highway.

So I can expect FE around 30kmpl safely. The other problem is unavailability of the bike off the shelf. I enquired in Sapphire honda bangalore and shantesha honda in hubli, both have a waiting period of 2months. At shantesha they told that an upgraded version or 300r will b launched in near future n hence despatch of existing cbr 250r from inventory is delayed. Am confused. Is the cbr readily available anywhere in karnataka??

Honda's stock engine oil costs around 970 total IIRC. Have never got it from outside. The svc puts on its own. Filter cost might be 200. Rs 30 for coolant topup.
Extra work - Cleaning the chain with petrol(after removing rear wheel)- 100/150 Rs as tip depending on work done. I use to take the TVS chain spray myself.

Well nice. Last time I bought 2 bottles of Engine oil from SVC at around 1100. 550 each. Anyways CBR maintenance is not that costly.

Right, regular maintainance is not costly. But the OEM parts are definitely costly than it should be.

What is the maintenance cost of Cbr 250r vis-a-vis duke 200 / 390? Can someone throw some light on it.

When I wrote to Honda customer care, they replied that they have no plans of launching CBR300R & 500R. This was just a few weeks ago.

The showroom manager told me that Honda never discloses anything until the bike is actually despatched to the showrooms. And since the rate of Cbr 250r delivery from the manufacturer is considerably delayed as compared to the previous quarter, he told me that this might be the case. But I wonder why the delivery of bikes to showroom is delayed if there is nothing concrete planned in the near future Any guesses?

Manufacturers are moving to 'build-against-order' model, slowly. This is not the case for mass market commuters, but for vehicles like this, they would produce only based on booking.

Yeah, it might be as you said. But I would like to clarify a bit. When I enquired three months before, the bike was readily available against booking ( may be they had some old stock with them, am not sure)

I think waiting till the end of this year or starting of 2015 will be a worthy wait. As some new Bikes i.e. Hero HX250, Bajaj SS440 are lined up to launched. So at the same time probably Honda won't miss the chance to upgrade their existing CBR 250 to 300 for India to give a tough fight to these manufacturers.

Not necessary to empty as a dry tank, which is not practical either. "As less as possible" will do

But if thats the case, We'll rather tend to go for the Kwacker Z800. Not sure if the info is true...just a thought...But if its priced under 6L, a definite competition to N650, Hyosung GT650...i guess it will be worth the wait...
I've no idea about pricing or the mode of availability.

aargee, the mode of availability is definitely CKD, only thing is, in which HMSI plant is it going to be assembled. If it comes as CBU, then it will not be a competition to N650 or GT650. Coz the pricing will be high,
