Hey, anybody here facing problems with the front suspension becoming too soft .?
My CBR has done 10k kms and September '11 model.
While going over bad roads its sending all the feedback on to the handle bars causing pain to the wrist , elbows and neck.
Any solutions ? Would thicker fork oil from motul be useful ??
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xBhp Connect mobile app
You are probably holding the handlebar too tight hence, excessive feedback from the road undulations are getting transferred to your hands directly: as a result you may be experiencing pain and perhaps tiredness too after a long ride. Would advise you to visit youtube and go through the video: Keith Code a twist of the wrist vol II where the gentlemen explains various aspects on the science of motorcycle riding and doing it the right way. Hope this helps...
Hey everyone
Booked it 3 weeks back and I will be getting my bike tomorrow and as this is my first bike, I was wondering what are the aspects that I need to check while taking delivery? Also are there any additional accessories that I need to buy right now?

Congrats on your purchase mate.
Do the normal PDI checks,
Check oil level, chain slack, lube, air pressure, working of lights, indicators , horns.
Check if radiator fan is working, all that stuff. And do a short test ride and check if all feels good go ahead and take her home.
Accessories, if you can get a paddock and also chain lube and cleaner, thats about it.
Something strange happened yesterday. I was at a long traffic intersection and I turned the bike off to wait for the signal to turn green. When it did, I pushed the electric start but it didn't work. I tried it a couple of times, even by turning everything off with the key, but the electric start didn't work. Then I put the bike into neutral, pushed the electric start, and the engine came back to life in an instant.
Why did that happen? I have started the bike earlier with it in the 1st gear (using the clutch) and have never faced such a problem.
On my Bike. (Yamaha FZ-S), when I shut down the engine using the engine kill switch, I need to start only in neutral. Else, I can start it in gear (obviously with the clutch engaged).

Please change the clutch switch and see if it happens again.
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Adding my congrats, and reflecting what Krish said, keep the rubber side down.
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
Got the bike and have some questions about the run in period-
what RPM do I restrict myself to?
Also the front fairing rattled a bit when I went through a ditch, is that normal or do I need to get it checked?
Thanks a lot mate! But what do you mean by keep the rubber side up?
And definitely will post pics
I meant to say rubber side down, type error I guess. Keep the rubber side down, which equates to a folklore of drive safe without any mishaps, rubber down, metal shiny as always.
Yes rattles are present on some bikes, and they should be taken care of in the first service. Discernible rattle/vibes at a particular RPM are all part and parcel of the package, but if a rattle or vibe is present, irrespective of the rev the bike is clocking, then I'd suggest to get it checked. Overall, shouldn't be of worry.
Cheers!
