    Thanks Kannanmr16,

If that is the only option then I will look for a riding pant, but let me wait for few more days for other riders to respond.

Kindly post your gear related queries in the dedicated Riding Gear thread. This will help not dissolve the topics that matter on this current thread.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

      THE END

        Thanks Vijay,

but I am looking for something that's possibly more comfortable to wear for CBR and hence yet to post in the riding gear thread. If I don't find anything then I will definitely post it in the respective thread for more details.

Can someone gimme some insight on how long a braking unit lasts on the cbr, specifically the non abs bybre unit, my bike has run exactly 38000kms.

Well no issues with the braking, just that my brake oil finished soo fast after filling half when it got empty, just a bit worrying, will check in a couple of days for leaks , my braking is totally fine. It's only my front, I hardly use the rear brakes. Just had my magnetic coil in my bike replaced today was charged 3160, attaching the pic of my coil , it was giving my starting issues earlier, still sort of is but that's down to battery life coming to an end.

Ok guys looks like my bike problems pile on one after the other, after changing my magnetic coil and new battery, looks like the culprit was my fuel pump, it kinda baffles me cause I use mostly only premium fuel and never run on low fuel, looks like my luck has run out, now a new fuel pump would set me back a cool 12k, honestly I cannot afford that at the moment, will probably not be riding if I have to change it, I'm just curious, can the pump be removed and cleaned, or maybe a blocked injector is causing this, either way, I really feel letdown by the bike lately.

Fuel pumps can be repaired easily at a fraction of cost.
I have seen people getting their car’s fuel pumps fixed. Same should be the case with bikes fuel pumps.
Our FI bikes are just fuel injected. Means, the fuel pumps just need to pump fuel to engine at around 40 to 60 ps pressure. People get diesel cars pumps fixed, which pump at over 1000 units of pressure.
Just saying this to explain simplicity of Petrol powered cars use much less complex parts and they could be fixed.

Also, premium fuels are to blame for the damage. If manufacturer hasn’t recommended them, better not use them. Because of powerful solvents in them, they could save one part, but could spoil another one.

Price is at least 2X more expensive. Try Ebay and try to buy from Thailand or Malaysia at a fraction of Indian cost.

Fixed? Can it be? I have wait till Jan to get a new fuel pump. I am honestly sick and tired of what's happening, is it maybe because of use of premium fuel my pump has given way? If soo is this the case with the Duke 200 and 390? Someone please shed some light.

                        Hello everyone,

My CBR is nearing 12000 Kms (3rd service)
I have made a list of things to be changed -
                        1. Engine Oil, Oil Filter and packing
                        2. Air Filter
                        3. Coolant topup
                        4. Probable Front brake pad replacement - after inspection
                        5. Inspection on Forks as I feel that bike is dragging little to right side - a friend of mine crashed my CBR on a bus and I had spent around 8K on forks (so was the bill said)
                        6. Little wobble on rear wheel
                        7. Brake pedal - Long due to be changed.

and I feel my bike's power has dropped, is that because of dusty air filter and old oil?

Also let me know if I have to change any other parts.

A friend of mine's KTM RC 200 fuel pump has lost it's life suddenly. We were cruising on good speed and suddenly bike started sputtering and stalling. Upon SVC inspection they said that fuel pump has gone and had to be replaced. He was using Shell premium Petrol from Day 1. SVC said that the petrol used on bike is the reason which we couldn't buy it fully.

Fuel pumps are similar to the water motors that we use at home. The concept and science behind both is same.
Nothing could fail in our water pumps, other than the bushes and power circuitary. So is the case with bikes fuel pumps. Case of diesel vehicle pumps is different, which have to pump at high pressure.

Water pumps are made out of steel or other alloys, however bike pumps are made out of plastic and rubber. Using fuel with more detergents or solvents would spoil internals of these delicate parts.

Fixing them just needs patience and space which are too small and difficult to procure. Nothing complex stuff in there. Check these links, the fuel pumps are available at a fraction of cost elsewhere. pay some customs and get them at less than half price to what being sold here.

My bike has run exactly 38000kms in 3 years and 3 months, I never run on a low fuel level and started using premium fuel from last year, I'm wondering if that's caused the problem or what or just the life of the fuel pump has come to an end, it's a bit disappointing, i initially thought it was the battery n got it changed for no reason.

Sorry to hear that. Just forget what happened and move on. No point in blaming yourself.

Fuel pumps should not fail in life time but because of impurities or voltage fluctuations, humidity, water seeping into tank, running on empty tank and shocks to them could degrade their lifespan.

Add quality issues to this list too.

Just get it fixed by repairing it or buying newer one from somewhere. Keep riding.

I don't run on empty tank, well most people on here suggested better to use higher fuel grade, I'm honestly not sure if that's the culprit, I feel very letdown, will see in the next few days what's the issue.
