Re: HONDA CBR250R - Engine died suddenly while riding
I had more than half a tank of petrol during the time of the incident. I didn't have any burning smell (clutch or otherwise).Originally posted by bala13 View PostWhat was the fuel level while climbing ghat?
I rode from this ghat many times, as i lived in lonavala in engineering days.
My CBR used to give burning smell after climbing only on this ghat!!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
In Bangalore I know one showroom who have more than 10 CBR 250 bikes with them. The show room guy will say alot false information but when I checked wirh the storage team they had many. But the problem was, they had respol edition only in abs which somehow I just hate. Next was low discount, bike is certainly couple of months old and registered on show room name. Their offer was 22-25k, hence I looked the used market and got a very good deal from my friend itself. So I believe if you search still there is chance to find the bikes.Originally posted by Nanda SS View PostThanks for your reply yathi....😀
And I believe it will come again...👏
I literally beg one for bs3 end season, in Chennai on all showrooms. No luck for me..😬
So I am still waiting for cbr250, while watching dominar and RE Himalayan...
But my heart say CBR....

Re: HONDA CBR250R - Engine died suddenly while riding
CBR is tuned lean and sometimes ECU does not cope up with sudden RPM drop and the engines dies. it has happened to many of us multiple times. nothing wrong just a flaw in ECU map.Originally posted by Mern View PostHello,
I owned a pre-worshipped 2011 Honda CBR250R (ABS) with about 23k kms on the odo (Not sure if it has been ridden than that). I’ve had for about 2 years now and as such have had no issues apart from the problem of engine shim noise. It is a headache that I’ve not had the luck to have it resolved even after countless visits to the ASC.
However, I would like to discuss and get your expert advice, opinions and suggestions on another issue that I faced yesterday while on a long ride.
My buddy and me decided to do a long ride (Pune-Tamini Ghat- Pali-Khopoli-Lonavala-Pune). The bike was a joy to ride and I did not have any issues until I started climbing the steep ghats between Khopoli and Lonavala. I was riding at slow constant speed and keeping the revs below 6500 rpm, while taking one of the steep curves, I downshifted to first gear and when I release the clutch and tried to accelerate, the bike just died. It did not stall but fell like the bike just switched off. Felt like an electrical cut-off but everything else was working fine, I had my headlights on which was still on. I switched on my blinkers and tried to re-start the bike. While cranking the engine, I could feel the bike start for one or two ignition cycles and died when I release the starter switch. Took me about five minutes to restart the bike and then I rode it to a safe place and checked the bike. Everything was working fine and I saw a few drops of engine oil drip on the ground (most probably from the oil filter seal). The bike rode fine till I reached home.
What I’m baffled with is why the bike stopped so suddenly? I could have been riding on the highway and such an incident may end with me getting into an accident.
Please let me know what you think of this and what I need to check, repair or replace.
Thanks
Admins: Please move this to the proper thread. Thanks!

The issue is; Today I thought to lube my chain so I put it on the main stand and when I try to rotate the Rear Wheel it is hard to move by hand for an even single rotation...Last day (pre- Diwali Time) during my ride without the helmet at some internal road of my neighbourhood in the quiet afternoon I hard some 'Klich Klich' noise which generated near from the rear Axl which I thought then that it may need some lube....that's all....
So the Long Story Short my CBR's rear wheel is completely jammed...and I'm sure it is when the bike returned from the SVC it is not there earlier.
Now I know this for fact (as I experienced earlier) when I change my rear tire there is some parts at the rear Axl which not install correctly jammed the tire - I don't know the exact name of it....
My question here is it possible that parts are stolen by the SVC? - This SVC was trusted one and in past 2/3 times I left my bike there but now there are many new faces appearing every time I visit at SVC who may do something to my bike ...... here someone already mentioned the bike become donor bike for parts.
Please let me the know....the real issue here.
disk pad clearance to be checked. if that is good then the bearings have taken the hit,

btw, you're like CBR guru around here, cheers
get osram night breaker which is better than stock else get LED ( cyclops) the best of the best. expensive but the best. 7000 lumen.
reply above. no need for bigger battery. LED consume lesser power. for indicator if you change to LED they will blink faster like a faulty indicator as the blinker is analog.Originally posted by Saurabh_rf View PostHey guys i would like to have my bike a more powerful headlight as stock in not enough during night on the highways. I'm a noob, can you help me with how to go about it. Do I need a bigger battery, which LED light should I use and should I get all the indicatora and tail replaced with an LED?
tail lamp can be replaced easily - BA15D/1157 socket - search aliexpress / ebay for Red ones.

its not the lockset. ask that idiot mech to remove the lockset socket from bottom and clean the 3 ball bearing contacts well.Originally posted by Siddhanth Paul View PostGuys, I'm facing a problem with the ignition. When I turn my key to ON from LOCK, the instrument cluster is, sometimes, turning off. Like, LOCK-->ON: no display.
The mechanic is saying to apply some WD40 in the lockset and try again.
I'm using the second key that I originally got with my bike's purchase, the first one being disposed off due to excessive usage.
I'm doubting if the lockset needs a change. I've done ~29k kms.
also inspect the cable peice for any broken wire.
open it up and clean with amry paper and wd-40 and pack it back,Originally posted by Ave2592 View PostGreetings everyone.
I had a small issue and was wondering if any of you could help me.

Not at all worth the price even for new one because of FZ25.Originally posted by yathi View PostIn Bangalore I know one showroom who have more than 10 CBR 250 bikes with them. CBR is now discontinued. Not at all advisable to invest in this machine. Spare parts will be an issue because CBR was never sold in thousands.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hello. Everyone. Thank you giving me the input to apply WD-40 on the pass light switch. It works better now.
I have just got a new led installed on the bike. The product is of RTD, a 35w led bulb with fan and relay. It works like a charm. Super bright light. Just one problem is that, in order to install that, the rubber casing of the headlight had to be removed. Would that cause any issue?
The light is amazing though.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I think if there are some gaps left the dust may seep into the headlight console and maybe further affect the efficiency of headlight by affecting reflector I think you should try by doing some cutting or like that, others here may shed some light here.Originally posted by Ave2592 View PostHello. Re: Honda CBR 250R
For Me throttle oil feels rough by 2000-2500kms itself, I feel like it needs a change, I been running motul 300v for almost 6000kms, it's good for another 1000 or soo. Using Honda throttle oil for 6000 is just your reducing your engine life dramatically, I cannot comment on shell, but I'd reckon it's good for Atleast 4000kms, and I change my oil filter each time I put in new oil as a preventive measure.Originally posted by yathi View PostOk, let me share my knowledge here. I had asked the same question to the best engineer here. His advise was, if you were replacing oil filter, the Honda throttle oil is good to use around 6k. But he was also saying, it always good to change oil prior to its last stage which will help engine in long life. In his view, yes shell is better than Honda but Honda synthetic oil not bad either. So if you are in warranty period, you don't need to switch to shell. So my overall understanding is, always try to change oil filter, and try to use the engine oil for 6 month or 6k range. Somewhere in team bhp I read a blog about a touring guy who change his oil in every 10k range and still running like charm. But I will try to service every 6 month or 6k range, not more than that.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Man u can cut the rubber cover to make a bigger opening , then fit it before installing the h4 socket (i believe that in rtd led you have to install socket with help of screw)....Originally posted by Ave2592 View PostHello. I used a shaving blade to cut the center opening and made a broader opening for dinner cap....
Hope this helps...
