Nothing wrong in doing both the add-ons, but I have neither of them(for more than 1 year) and there is no harm done to the radiator expect for the occasional mud splashed onto the fins.

Hence my opinion was any one of the add-ons will be effective in protecting the radiator fins.

2.5 years... 30k km\'s and pressure wash every 10 days.. numerous fin bend.. nothing really happens. air still pass through them. fins are used to increase surface area. dirty clogged radiator is far more dangerous than bent fins.. just enjoy your ride mate.. nothing to worry. unless you do serious offroading frequently..

          Hello Brothers,

My Bike is 8000 Kms old, after second service at 5300 kms I started redlining the bike in each gear.
Sometimes I did that for 10-15 seconds. Will it harm the bike ?
As of now I did not face any issues and the bike is returning FE of 32-33 when ridden at 100-120 and occasional burst of 135-140.
is that a healthy FE for a CBR which is just 8000 Kms old ?

Also there is a shim issue, which service center people say not to worry and will take care of it in the third service as the noise is very less. Please suggest something on this ?

          Regards,

its a honda man.. made for those speeds. you can keep doing 120-130 all day.. dont worry nothing will happen.
you can redline it however again not holding it for hours together at 10k rpm. 32-33 is darn good FE for a 250..
shim noise will start around 6-7k itself and will grow with time. get the clearance checked at next service and if needed get them changed.

i got mine changed ay 27k. that slight shim noise is normal.

              Hi all,

Today, became proud owner of CBR 250 ABS version. Purchased a used 2013 model at 1.2 lakhs with 21000kms of mileage.
I have checked complete service history, previous owner has serviced it regularly as prescribed.

But i am experiencing vibrations and noise from front headlight assembly post 6500 rpm. In 2 days time i would again take bike to SVC, please suggest what needs to be checked for vibrations and the noise.

              Thanks

vibes are pretty normal for a single cylinder engine however the 6000 fairing rattle is pretty common on cbr. ask them to tighten all the fairing correctly and also
make sure you ask them to open the fron tfairing and insert a rubber peice between the top part of headlight and the fairing. that 6000 rpm rattle will be gone.

                    Ahhh home sweet home!!!
Coming back to these pages after a span of several months. Seeing lots of new names/faces, some established names and missing a few other familiar faces!

Ontopic, I just happened to complete 2 years of ownership, 23k on the odo. I haven\'t been riding much lately (which means actually riding, not just puttering about in city traffic), but still love the lady bug I take it out for a spin. The last year had been pretty vanilla and uneventful, and to some extent, I am thankful for that. There was a trifling suspension issue with the front forks going too stiff, and the worn out tyres threatening to give way any time. And ofcourse, the eternal issue of shims. But the faithful lady kept herself going incredibly well in spite of all issues, and managed to pull off 8 months / 9000 kms from March to November between two services. And in spite of the long gap between the two services, there were only a couple of issues that actually needed attention (shim change, oil change, fork stiffness, brake pads). Post the service, she\'s all go!

As a birthday gift, she got herself a pair of new shoes (MRF Revz) and a bit of cosmetic showoff. (CF vinyl et al). No major \'treats\' or \'birthday rides\' though.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

I think you have mistakenly pointed it to me, as @vivekarizma is the original owner of this question. Hope he arrived at a decision about the add-ons.

Coming to my Handle bar wobbling issue(have been living with it almost from the first service ) around 70 Kmph, Left the bike for 2 days at Honda Service center to sort out the issue. Unfortunately no solution has been provided for this issue, only thing to check is the wheels.

The Service Engineer said that they need at least 3 days to get the wheels checked at Continental tyres service center to check for the condition, but i cannot practically live without bike for that long. So anyone who can point me to a tyre dealer/service center in and around chennai, where they can check 2wheeler tyres for balancing and alignment?. I cannot go with replacing the tyres now due to tight finance.
The places where I checked give me a reactions like when asked about alloy wheel balancing for a 2 wheeler.

Apart from this the bike is giving me great (s)miles to me .

And just an update: Got the System G(from Pondicherry and a bit old stock) and used it for 3 tank fills, whether its in my brains are not i feel the smoothness has increased around triple digit speeds(or 5k to 8k rpms) and there is no roughness felt throughout the range in all gears .

                        FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM

This is an educational video for the uninitiated or newbees who have just bought an FI motorcycle. I hope this clears some doubts on Carburetted VS Fuel Injected and Open Loop Vs Close Loop and when does an ECU decide to shift its focus from different sensors:

Please bear in mind that different motorcycle engine incorporate different process to take inputs from various sensors in FI system. The above video is just a basic demonstration of the inner workings of the same.

Hope this helps the CBR ownership group too

                        Cheers,

                          • Unknown problem with Honda CBR 250R- Just 18 months old

                            Hey riders ....I have a CBR 250R ABS 2013 model....odo done is 6100 kms....
initially when the bike was new....... for first 6 months bike was butter smooth....it was hard to say if bike was doing 3 digit speeds without seeing speedo..of course at 5th and 6th gear,
but in dec 13 had a major accident....at 110kmph speed....since then bike is been repaired and has been to service centre 6 times...but my bike is not the same...
she vibrates at speeds of 60 even at 4th gear and at 80 on 5th and 6th gear..riding at 2nd and 3rd ...dont even think of it...
have changed the engine oil thrice since i brought her....
Vihaan SVC, Thane(Abdul) says everythngs fine..
when i informed him.....bike is not same as it was...its not smooth...he says...cant open the engine...as its just 6000 kms on odometer...
asked a local mechanic...he said it might be the clutch plate setting which has changed....and said engine seems to be fine but some mechanical damage can be the cause.
bike just lacks power.....even when she was ok a little bit......she refused to go above 145 kmph speed.

Need some help in identifying the issue...any of you riders have known this, went thru such issues?

                              * How many KMs have you covered on the stock tyres? IF you have done anything more than 12-14k on the tyres, the Contis would prove to be very notorious in this regard. They tend to lose their shape and become irregular, causing wobbly handling. I had been facing the same problem for a few months. And trust me, I tried out all the things you are thinking right now - wheel balancing, checking for bent alloys. readjusting the coneset - nothing worked till I changed to a set of new tyres last week. All wobblyness is gone now.
