    HI All ,

If you know any body else that also would be helpful...

A guy told me on FB group that his friend in Kolkata went to book CBR 250R but they refused to book. He claims that Bookings are closed & everything is till stock lasts.

So the new CBR 250R coming to India, this festive season?

      Can some one confirm.

Same news here in Chennai. Dealers tell it is not going to be CBR300R but redesigned CBR250R. They say will get a clear picture after 3-4 months only. I am going to wait for 3-4 months.

its better to wait for a few months and get the updated version rather than repenting after getting the current version...unless you really like the way the current one looks...and try to get the ABS version...its worth.

True. But I like the looks of the current CBR better. Moreover there will be a bump in power from 26 to 29PS and split headlamps and lighter exhaust. If they don't retain the current price and charge another 30-50K more then it will be a dicey situation. Current dealers don't have stock of ABS versions. So no option but wait for new model.

Yes, Even I'm also thinking of waiting for new one & then decide. If there is any price hike in new CBR. We might get good discount on older one. I like current headlight design.

Deciding factors will be the price & power bump.

Please do update guys if any one gets any info.

As far as I know, the new model will be almost 8 kgs lighter than the current one. Probably due to the exhaust. If both the bulbs are of 55w each, illumination would be good for night riding. As for the price, i thhink i read somewhere that the new model CBR ABS version would cost around 2.40 lacs on road.

I like the twin headlight setup more than the current one. Gives CBR a CBRish look than the current VFRish look

2.40 Approx, then it will have a straight competition with KTM RC390. When it was Naked VS Faired, Duke 390 did damaged the sale of CBR 250R. When they will launch RC390, it will faired vs faired, it will surely damage the sale.

Can anyone confirm whether do we have to change the key set too if we have to swap ECU of a 2013 to a 2011 model ?

Ideally you wouldn't have to change anything. If there is a glitch, the most you would have to do is recode the ecu which is a two second job done with the scanner. But thats rare.

Hey! Can anyone recommed and a good ASC for the CBR250R in mumbai or a private mechanic who known the bike ?

Venetian Honda is the one i have used for a year and i can say their service is strictly below average .
A simple request to top up the Brake fluid reservoir on both front and rear brakes was met with the reply "it will overflow"
and this was after the markings on the reservoir indicated 'low'.
The bike maxed out at 90kmph.. inspite of this being brought into the notice of the ASC they replaced something but the problem still persisted.
Scratch marks left at the base of the engine.
All this happening in the course of a year as i had taken a early contract thinking they might give more attention to the bike.

Present scenario is the brake reservoir fluid needs to be topped up.
The front brake pad is scrapping the disc leaving ugly scratches which needs correction
Fuel consumption has been abysmal. I have been getting anywhere between 24kmpl - 28kmpl which is less as compared to 30kmpl that i got earlier
Engine's heating up as well as compared to earlier but the temp bar's don't say so.
The front suspension is not doing its job properly as there is very little damping to absorb the potholes or uneven surfaces. The have almost "sat down".( i dont know thw technical term) All the vibrations are being delivered to the handle bar.1
All my riding is in the city. Highway trips are few. Bike is a '11 model has done around 8k kms.

In lieu to the above queries i repeat my query. Can anyone please recommend and a good ASC for the CBR250R in mumbai or a private mechanic who knows the bike ? I Live in the western suburbs.

Hello friends, can somebody help me finding a Blank key for CBR?? I lost one of the keys and the current key is in a bad shape. The locksmiths arnt able to find one that matches the length of CBR's Lock Set. Earlier it was available at ebay, currently no where to be found.
PS: I dont have the Code of the Key and the dealer is totally incooperative as expected from Honda. I really dont want to waste 10K on the lockset- Totally insane pricing.

I guess you could e-mail the customer care with bike details like chasis number and engine number. They should be able to track the key number.

this is one thing that can be done.. shoot out an email to Honda cust care and heads...
with showroom purchased and chassis and engine number

along with the original key there is a small aluminium strip that has a key number. they can make it with that.
also go for computerized centres where they can duplicate a key from machine. generally charge between 100-300 bucks.
car keys are longer and can easily accomodate the length of CBR key. i realized the new CBR keys are smaller compared to 2012 and previous models..

alternatively try suzuki access blank key.. .should work out well..

Thanks friends. Was a little too worried, when the mech said, there is no option other than changing the lockset. And the current key isnt able to lock the handle aswell, hence need the key urgently. Will mail them first.
