Not only that, I'd like a few guys to confirm few more things...
The efficiency of service at JSP Honda, in Chennai has improved considerably to a great extent like a factory model. Any given day, I used to see atleast 3-4 CBR's in the past for service & today to my astonishment there're only 2 CBR's & one of them is accident vehicle & the other waiting for some part to arrive from HMSI. Mostly all the free service vehicles are delivered in 90 minutes & if one has prior appointment, the service intake time is less than 10 minutes. If you think this is only for CBR, you're wrong, this is also the same case from Twister to Dazzler. Ofcourse, CBR has a different bay.

I'm not sure if this a process initiated by HMSI...can anyone confirm it pls from other ASC's?

Um , Prince ..... When i asked some questions/Doubts regarding this CBR 250 r you will answer me as if you are owning a CBR 250 r and your BP also shoots up when i say something wrong about this bike ... But When i read your posts recently , it sounds weird ..

I already booked the CBR 250 r " 2 " months ago @ Lodha Honda , Tamabram sanitorium .. But i din't submit the Loan documents .. And i also have the initial amount Rs.1,20,xxx /- in my hand ..But so many things stopped me to proceed towards this bike [ I again don't want to recollect ] Well , in other hand , i will be getting my R15 V 2.0 end of by next month .. Loan process completed ..

Anyways , Congrats to your new purchase

      • @Arrivealone - You ended up with a wrong dealer & bank my friend; HMSI has got to do nothing on this. Had you visited Didar/JSP, you might've bought up what you initially booked. Anyway, R15 is also an excellent motorcycle in 150cc segment.

This definitely is not a process initiated by HMSI. I have recently understood that, the attitude of each and every worker depends upon the service manager/owner.

@aargee, if you remember what I said the last time we met, the CBR mechanic at Didar Tnagar has left the job, and they don't have a replacement. From what I judged the last time I was there, neither are they planning to replace him. The service manager himself is servicing the CBRs. Don't mistake me, the service quality and attitude is still top notch, but only the time taken to get the bike has increased considerably. Although, rated as one of the best service centres in chennai, (not just by me, but other members too), they still have a very crude/non-existent/ineffective service booking. The customer has to insist on asking them to note down the vehicle number, and even if they did, you still have to be cautious and show up at 9:15 at the most, failing which they will act like they have never heard from you. Making contacts and being friendly has always helped me and they are extra courteous to CBR customers especially.

On the other hand, a couple of weeks ago on my ride to Pondy from chennai(the week before we went), I realized I lost my clutch lever screw somewhere midway. So, I did some desi jugaad of holding it in its place using a plastic tip. Upon reaching pondy, i went to the service centre (Hasan Honda) and told them my problem. They showed the worst possible attitude that one could expect. I asked them to get me a new screw and lube my chain as it was a little dirty and dry. They made me wait 10 minutes, following which the Service Manager, Mr. Lionel walks in and in the most discourteous tone, advises me that 'he' doesn't have this part, so I will have to vacate the place. I stood my ground, and demanded how he cannot have such a basic part, and asked him if he can source it from somewhere or another bike, to which he replied, they have another head office in pondy, and I should go try there. I politely explained him that, if he didn't call them up and make sure if they have the part available, then it's a waste of my time to go all the way there. He tells me that the phone lines aren't working, so they can't contact their head office which is in the same bloody town(Don't worry, the shit gets more bizarre as you read on).

Finally after some cajoling, he takes in my bike, I promptly follow like I do anywhere, they pulled out the screw from a Unicorn if i remember correctly, DIRECT BLOODY FIT. He fixes it, tells me he doesn't have chain lube, so i request him to tighten the chain. They make me wait for half an hour, to tighten the chain, while my patience and courtesy was wearing thin with each passing second. They take another half an hour to produce the bill, while he asks me what 'they' did on my bike, and 'I' should tell them what I should be billed for. Finally they produce a bill for Rs 270 (Yes no shit!, for a screw and chain tightening) and call it labour charges. At this point, I had lost my cool and the first thing I said to the manager was "So, you bloody thing you can charge whatever the hell you want to your customer, and he wouldn't say anything? What kind of a bloody joke shop are you running?". He was understandably and visibly dumbstruck and taken aback at the sudden change of tone, to which he replied, this is what is saved in our software too. I realized there is no point in arguing with a fool, and an ignorant one at it. So i just took pictures of all the bills, the condition of the chain after they 'cleaned/tightened' it, I asked him his name and with a strong vow to write to Honda as soon as I get back I left from there. I didn't want him to spoil my mood, I was there on a holiday afterall and let things be. Only now, did I remember that I still have these photos, I am going to post a part of this post to Honda, and hope they are better customer centric than that bloody joker at Pondy. I seriously pity all the Honda customers in Pondy, as they happen to hold monopoly over the Honda empire.

On another note, @Aargee, I plan to give my bike for it's fourth servicing very soon at JSP, after hearing many positive reviews from them. Just one query though, do they allow you to watch your bike while it is being serviced? I have a little OCD in that sense, rest of the stuff I will find out from them over the phone. TIA.

            • Somebody help me My CBR is in the showroom Since 3rd January and still no signs of it getting repaired due to unavailability of parts. The issue is with the smoke from the engine while cold starting the bike and the block pistons has been changed once and the problem is still there. I talked to the customer care but they only assure me that bike will be repaired. But they can't specify the time by which bike will be ready. I am not getting any satisfactory answers. Here are some pictures of my bike.
Also the links to the video of how my bike gave smoke.

Get the bike from showroom & start riding; keep us posted if there're any waiting period, here in Chennai, they're available off the shelf. FYI, I'd spoken to the service manager from JSP & he confirmed that engine oil (10W30), engine oil filters, air filter box, chain sliders, headlight bulbs & shims are available off the shelf, atleast with them.
What are chain sliders in our Cbr??

Horrifying!!! Really horrifying!!! I would've simply walked away from them!!!
Anyway, I've tightened & lubed chains at...
                  1. Hi-Tech Honda Nagalpur
                  2. Lakecity Honda Udaipur
                  3. JSP AN
                  4. Manasarovar Velachery

None of these places charged me anything; infact Udaipur (though they had the same approach as Hassan Honda initially) they washed the bike at free of cost. Hi-Tech infact accepted my vehicle after 6 PM after they've closed.

When I was with JSP today, no wonder the SM got a call from Pondicherry (for Shine) asking if they can service the bike in a day's time if he can bring to Chennai!!!

I've stayed most of the time with them unless its more than a day's job. Like the engine replacement etc & when I've to wait for parts. Let me know a day before when you're going there.

But...why're you doing 4th service? You've clocked only 13K right? Wouldn't that be atleast 3rd service or more precisely 2nd service?

What parts? Is it piston rings etc? What does your dealer say? How many times have you approached the dealer since Jan 3?

You see a rubber slider between the chain & the swing arm on the gear shift side.

Well...you need to compare it with Ninja & not P220 Its inexpensive than Ninja's

Lockset is one of the most expensive part on CBR & I'd warned ppl to handle it very carefully (I use WD40 to clean every two weeks) & never hurry up inserting or removing the keys. I also instruct the same when I leave the bike at ASC for service, so they almost don't take out the keys from the vehicle.

Don't ask me for justification for the cost; I'll try & find out if possible.
