    • handed over the bike at a somewhat better reputed asc at thane after pestering honda for two weeks

bike has done some 8.xx k kms

1st impression of the trained mech:

      1)Cone set gone
2)vibes on account of shims & radiator being clogged by mud
3)clutch & brake & gear lever need replacement (no reason known)
4)front & rear disk pads gone
      5)hard throttle response
      6)rear suspension stiff --

will wait for them to resolve in the next 2-3 days & then update further

Once again incorrect!!! Try switching to FS because I DID & had enough beating (once again PSR ji knows).

You mean for C250R? Did you ask the mechanic, SA or head of service incharge? Because, I'd asked head of service incharge, HMSI engineer & the mechanic at different point in time; I own a C250R & hence their answer was unanimous - will void the warranty!!!

All said, the biggest joke is...

Quite important DK; I'll be watching closely for your inputs; reason being...awaiting spares & want to see how long does it take to bring (if at all any) spares that are not in stock.

        • ps: the mech also said not to go with the mineral oil.since honda disdn't have any option earlier in ss or fs ,it was a stop gap arrangement at various asc to use the mineral one.

i personally have no issues with either -- it is only how many kms you can run with each type before replacing --that's it

Stick with SS, if you want FS, just go through one of my previous post on using FS & take a call. I stay neutral on it.

Bro, when I said I would have be happy(i)er, does not mean am sad. Happy(i)er comes after happy, so am happy, call me happy singh if you like it

If you are saying that your Bjj bike never needed chain cleaning and lubing and it never showed any signs of rust in 2years time, that is nothing short of a miracle!!! Stick to your miracle bike (I would have done the same and never switched bike )

It is sad you saw rust in the chain in the early days itself, only means it was not lubed! Does not mean the chain is made of rusted iron. If am not mistaken its the same manufacture as chain used in the P220. And yes, the manual suggest chain lubing!! Please go through it. Cleaning with kerosene\ diesel is not in the manual but cleans far better that any commercial cleaner I have tried. Try the combo, you will not complain of chain rusting. And yeah am not saying you have to do it yourself, can also have the same done by you ASC with your free servicing.

Am a customer and thinking is also very desi/ customer centric trust me. I am one of those customers who waited for 5hours inspecting my CBR250r being serviced, and I intend to do it on every service (if situation permits). That is how much I love my bike. But I don't crib!!
              (Sorry for going OT mod)

Oh for the rest of the junta, me got 33Kmpl with 100% city riding

                • Neonatal CBR review

                  Hi Everybody
                  This is my first post.

Had booked the CBR ABS version in April at Pilot Honda Chembur waiting period was indicated as three to four months. Got a call from them on 18th August asking for payment. Went to their showroom on 23rd August to make the payment. On asking they confirmed that the vehicle was in the yard and that I would get delivery within 10 days. Got delivery on 22 September!
While taking delivery asked the person to run through the pre riding points on pg 37 of owners manual and show me oil level, coolant level etc. Not a single person present during delivery could show me these two basic things . As fuel indicators last bar was blinking I asked them about it and they told me to take it straight to the petrol pump. I had got 1250 ml of petrol in a bottle as I had a similar experience while taking delivery of my dazzler, I filled the petrol into the tank in front of the staff as well as customers present, even after that the last bar was blinking only after about another 750 ml was filled did it stop blinking.
I took the bike to the service centre which is about 500mts from the showroom to show me the oil & coolant level, they were prompt & crisp unlike the showroom guys. The oil level was nowhere to be seen in the window after the bike was put onto the paddock , he had to add about 200ml oil for it to appear in the window.
Would rate the dealer 1/10 & the 1 is thanks to the location and not ther service.
Took it straight to the IOC COCO pump at Bhulabhai Desai road where we normally fill fuel and topped up with normal petrol.

Used the bike daily to office and got an average of 32.6 on the first tank filled

There was some slight noise from the front disc at about 350 on the ODO (bike was delivered with 34 on the ODO) on inspection of the disc it seemed as if there was uneven ware, took it to the ASC, there was no dirt in the disc pads. It seemed as if the pad material & disc material were not a match I asked the manager to lodge a complaint with HMSIL which he readily did. The pads seemed to be eating unevenly into the disc and with just under 400 on the ODO it was not acceptable considering the fact that I drive conservatively & break extremely conservatively and mostly use the foot break. The rear disc is in perfect condition as one would expect it.

The bike runs great within the city, have not got the opportunity to go out yet. I am enjoying the rides to & from office.

Have a soft copy of the parts manual if anybody is interested do let me know.

Pls go back few pages & check as I'm unable to recall the posts now.
I had that issue and I suppose Binoy or Rahul suggested me to go for the above solution and it did work for me.

Don't know if the naked avatar of my bike is to be blamed or the bent radiator, but fact remains that I got a measly 24.59 km/L on my last tankfull with 100% city riding.

                    Congratulations..!!

Please forward me a copy of the parts manual. I kind of need it.

Also, can anyone provide me with an official e-mail ID of Honda? Or even a contact will do. The ASC has no idea when they'll get the parts and the works manager actually said, "Sir if you can get a contact, please mail/call them. You might get things done sooner."
