Depends on the person who rides; I like to speed, but I wouldn't cross the moment I feel I'm out of control of sight & I don't corner like riding on track; summarize, I speed up without troubling myself & others.

Beautiful idea; I'd do that once I'm back to Chennai. I'm positive that Chennai-BLR is always a uphill no matter its Vellore or K'Giri or Vaniyambadi. I couldn't cross 130 on my car no matter how many ppl are in my car including luggage, but, I've found the same car under same situation touches 145 on the return leg. I guess this method SHOULD work.

    +1; strongly agreed; I'd say 135 instead.

Yes; ask those jokers at ASC to use a small piece of screw driver & straighten up the fins.

Yes I was thinking about it all day today...I still have difficulty in understanding how I could've avoided feet touching the road when riding on ghat section roads Because it would be pretty challenging to keep only toes on the footpegs when you are riding on a road for the first time.. Any pointers on that?
I also have another doubt- I'm not aware how it is on other bikes, but in CBR, the footpegs are spring loaded, meaning that they bend inwards when something touches, but come back when left free. I'm guessing this is a good feature?

Ok...I didn't know that..As you must've already guessed, I'm still pretty much a kid in terms of bike riding. Forgive my ignorance.

Wow. That is some talent. And pretty risky. Just imagine what'd ve happened if you'd crashed with a camera in your mouth! But very nice video. +1 to that!

Thanks. Yeah I agree it was a bit risky. But given my camera's width & the gap inside my helmet it was almost a perfect fit and only required a little push from my mouth, I had also secured the camera with a mobile neck strap. But yes, crash due to other circumstances cannot be ruled out.

        NOTE TO ALL
: I would not recommend this technique to anyone else as it does indeed require practice/talent/concentration/experience and if not done properly can lead to crash/serious injuries.

        • Need help!

          Hi All,

After waiting for new R15 for all this time.
Now I made my decision to buy Honda CBR for me.
I am more interested in the Non C-ABS ver.
I would like to hear from guys who owns it, about it's braking and handling.
When the C-ABS ver is 25k costlier.
          Please share your views.

Man, you will be more than happy to buy CBR.
As for C-ABS braking, this is of course is very wonderful upgrade for fearless riding, specially for new comers(and oldies as well), if you are pro enough then go for non-abs, and all is good....
and btw think about it -> 1.2L = 150cc, 1.6L=250cc (and this is CBR!)

            • Bike had its first drop today but wasnt by me.
I always used to park my bike in wide space to avoid idiots from spilling their bikes on mine,it was the same today but some retard in our hospital parking just proved my this idea wrong(may be he was trying to squeeze in that space).
Leftside Footpegs,Bar-ends,RVM,Indicators,Grabrails have got scratches, magically left fairing escaped the damage but that idiot probably used the rightside middle cowl to lift the bike and its now loose( and i suspect its making a rattling sound at >8000rpm)

No hopes from the service centre in mangalore its totally useless-
              1) They bent 50% radiator fins during the wash, even after i instructed them not to use high pressure on the fins and upper body,still....
              2) Used some cheap detergent which left the black plastics white
              3) I don't know what they do with the clutch everytime,it was very loose after the service and bike used to stall without even a jerk.I asked them to fix it,i dunno that what those idiots did,now it runs itself without even touching the throttle at 8kmph(rpm is still around 1.5k) .

I think i need to work it out myself. can anyone tell me if it is the clutch freeplay or the throttle freeplay that needs to be adjusted?

I complained about the bent fins, they are saying its normal(i know its not) now how do i get it fixed?(someone spoke about AC repair centres)

And fairing rattle,I'm planning to open the cowls and place that thick double sided tape.Has anyone here done it before?

@Vivek : abs is not just for starters. Though a person is a pro, reflexes aren't as fast as the computer controlling the abs unit. Abs is just a one time payment but it saves lives.. You never know which dumb idiot come in front of you putting you in a panic situation. You know how panic braking is on our stupid roads right?

I could not agree more with you on this.
I always thought i am pretty good at breaking (and still believe that at some places ABS kicks in at very conservatively) but at speeds above 120 the way ABS handles is simply amazing.
Last week a moron hit/ touched my bike from behind when i pressed hard on brakes (a bus stopped all of sudden to drop a passenger).
After that i never press hard and because most of the people feel they can stop (and most of them do stop) but some can not.

I have one issue with my CBR.
Nothing serious but as i grip the tank with my thighs while riding, i feel there is a small portion on tank sides that has a lil different shine.
I read in some Ninja 250 post about people putting some strips on tank side to avoid such marks and scratches from knee guard.
Can someone please provide a little more detail on this?

                      Thanks in advance.

                        1. Bent fins are not normal and after sales service guys should know how to wash a bike with radiator. In one case in Pune, we got the service centre to give replacement radiator as the bike was only 15 days old. Since they were unable to fork out 26k cost of radiator, a compromise was reached wherein the owner made insurance claim. Service centre paid difference of claim recd. / cost of radiator + amt. of no claim bonus which the owner would loose next year + amt. of loading that would be added to own damage premium next year- by way of credit note. The owner can avail of service, spares etc. of that amount.

                        2. The white marks on black plastic is mostly wrong grade of wax used. I did it once on my ninja. It takes a lot of time to come out and only time is the cure.

You can buy readymade vinyl strips (cost around 25 bucks per sq.ft.) which match your bike's colour and paste it where your knee guard touches. These strips are easily removable without any residue. Also as you get ample variety in colours, you can match it with your bike's colour so that it won't stand out.

I want to get some visual mods done for my CBR(Silver).
                          Any suggestions?

I'm contemplating between vinyl stickers and getting paint jobs done. I stay in Bangalore, would appreciate some inputs on places where I could get some good quality paint jobs done.

Would using some kind of image processing sw like photoshop/paint help in visualizing the designs planned?
