Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guys, Need your help.
I wanted a replacement for my rear tyre. I think, i got only two options either Conti or MRF. I got a quote of 3700 Rs for Conti from LAL tyre, Chennai. For MRF zapperS, I only tried one shop, for which they told its out of stock.
Do you guys know which shop to go in Chennai? Are there any other options, in terms of tyre brand?

That's a good figure @bbsrailfan.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostLol, someone swapped @bbsrailfan's engine with a ZMA's.
Folks, it is not unusual for a CBR though. I once got 36.12 for a tank, where I had city+highway rides.
CBR efficiency for me was never constant. Avg is 30.5 kmpl for me (in Blr). Different places of our nice diverse country report different figures, rightly so.
One rider here claimed 39-40kmpl here. Hats off to his patience!.
Note:
Shifting at 6Krpms, reduced mileage by about 3kmpl (tank full to full method - tested once after first 1000km).
So, can't say that shifting at lower RPMs will always save fuel. Anyway, I am back to shifting at around 5.5K for other reasons mentioned in my previous post - shifting at 6K in city - everything approaches fast - I tend to shift down and brake - more fuel consumption. Bike seems to have significant momentum and less roll-on resistance with Conti at 29PSI - so would use momentum. Using Conti trade off for a meek advantage. Never rode with 33PSI in rear (mainly solo, rider weight 45KG wet
, no confidence to do 33PSI to rear Conti).

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Saar, that was just leg pulling from my side. I know 36 kmpl is possible. I have read aargee getting similar figures (and a little more too) in his logs earlier.Originally posted by kpvision View PostThat's a good figure @bbsrailfan.

Average speed: 75 kph, shifting at 5500RPM. I was on the single-lane Kanakpura NH209 and with rains drizzing nonstop, I didn't push the bike any further.
I too get a consistent 29kpl in city / office commutes. On highways, my best figure was 33kpl previously - but again, I had never settled for anything less than 85 on the ceeber earlier eitherOriginally posted by kpvision View PostThat's a good figure @bbsrailfan.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hello All,
I've taken the delivery of the new 'Repsol' edition 250R on 26th August, the first one for Tumkur (Karnataka). Unfortunately was unable to ride it properly as it is raining cats and dogs in this part, just did a Tumkur-Bangalore-Tumkur trip to get a feel of the ergonomics and some running in. Will put up an ownership and the first ride thread as soon as the weather permits.
And sorry for the crappy mobile phone pictures.

bro i mentioned before the chain pitch of every bike is diffrent...
as far i can think off you can go with the p220 chain as the pitch is same however for the sprockets you would have to hunt..
stock has 14T front and guess 38/40 rear..
best bet in india .. get the same cbr chain and rear sprocket.. swap the front with either a 13T for accleration else 15T for touring...
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
ride it between 4.5k- 5.5k rpm on a highway.. it will be a bore sedate ride but i bet you'd break the 42-43 kmpl barrier too...Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostLol, someone swapped @bbsrailfan's engine with a ZMA's.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Bro, thats exactly what I was riding at - 4500RPM translates to 72kph in 6th gear! Guess it's impossible to extract more FE out of the bike without lugging the engine and ruining the ride.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Because I was used to an RE prior to a fully faired sports, I rode the entire bit of 3000 kms in the beginning under 6k rpm... Was baffled with FE then... ... but once I got the taste of +7k rpm my FE came down to the 33-35 range
