Re: Honda CBR 250R
I remember someone posting in past, didn't realise it was you. Searched it but could not find. That's why I asked again.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View Post
Sorry to say but yes these are ugly but should be functional. I was thinking of getting a piece of some other bike's fender and get that drilled to the front fender.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View Post
I guess I saw radiator guards online but they were quite expensive.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostSiddhartha

Re: Honda CBR 250R
There could be some vibes between 5 to 6k. Wait for first 1000KM. Normally, engine is smooth, but vibes are normally from fairings/contact.Originally posted by hypheni View PostI'm feeling my engine is not smooth after 6K RPM in 4 / 5th gear. Do you guys feel the same or its my personal feeling being a new rider ?
Definitely, engine is bit rough after 6K in lower gears. It is butter smooth around 5K + RPMs in 6th gear if fairings/contacts are tight.
After second service, it will be more eager. Any abnormal vibes, take it to ASC - they will check engine mount bolts pad up the faring joints and fit it. This increases the faring gaps (looks bit more shabby on already not so tidy finish of CBR dress) but removes the vibes significantly. All the best, ride

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Alright.. so here goes my story of waiting and listening to BS from Honda. I was looking for MRfs on my yet to be CBR. I waited for 2 weeks, called the SA for updates. He says no MRF available and even if you change to one you engine warranty will be void. I was like m*$..r F&*$& whats tyre to do with warranty. O was told to cancel the booking if I wish and if I find MRF in any other showrooms!! :banghead: Any bangalore guys know of a good place where I can get MRFs delivered with the bike? I was trying to run from this pathetic attitude from Bajaj and looks like this is universal and there is no hiding from this.

Don't think that you should leave CBR 250R only for Conti tyres. Its not that bad.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Try Silicon honda R V road, and Dream Honda Whitefield. Intermittently they get the tyres, otherwise build a repo with the sales guy and get him to source the tyres from other places. Also, booking and paying up at the showroom, shows your loyalty and motivates the folks to work for your needs.Originally posted by jeevan.life View PostAlright.. so here goes my story of waiting and listening to BS from Honda. At the end of the day, it's all in the rider and tyres are not going to perform magic for you. That being said these tyres are fantastic. Go for it.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Bro, just because of the tyres, don't change your mind. I have heard the current breed of Contigos are better than the older ones. So you can try them out for a few days and if not satisfied, get them chaged to better ones. Don't worry about warranty because service centre people won't even notice that you have changed your tyres.Originally posted by jeevan.life View PostAlright.. so here goes my story of waiting and listening to BS from Honda. I am so jealous of you lucky people who can go on track for a reasonable price.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostPlanning for a track day next month at KARI, along with a few friends, currently trying to get all the details and cost breakup.

BIC is damn expensive here.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I am riding with Conti, grip has improved after first 1500KMs (tyre manufactured date code 3412 - 34th week of 2012 ). Yesterday, I was doing 80+kmph in rains on highway. It is not a very good tyre but OK one- looks like designed for longevity. I am looking to change it early, when I reach 6000KM, provided I could get MRF, PSD or Michelin sport.Originally posted by jeevan.life View PostAlright.. so here goes my story of waiting and listening to BS from Honda. I don't think changing the tyre (stock size) would void warranty, as I don't see that clause in warranty card and some CBRs already getting MRFs.
Btw, agreed that attitude could be similar everywhere.~shifting at 6K RPM

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi
Thanks for all your suggestions. I was not saying that I will not go for the CBR. I am damn sure I will buy it.
About tyres, I know lot depends on the rider, but I dont want to take chances so bothered about the tyres.
What ticked me off was the take it or get out attitude. So will cancel the booking and buy from somewhere where they show some value to the customer.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
jeevan.life - Congratulations on taking a stand. For a long time I have seen Honda dealers having the Activa take-it-or-leave-it attitude with potential CBR owners. I have also faced the same thing. Its only on making noise and emailing/calling the higher ups do things ever change.Originally posted by jeevan.life View PostHi

While you should definitely take your business to some other dealer, do remember to bring this incident and the executive behavior to the notice of the honda customer care and maybe even the showroom owner.
Best of luck with your search for MRF clad CBRs. I am sure it will be worth it. Conti-GoNowhere (my impression from having a Apr-2012 batch - discarded for PSD after 9k km) isn't the tyre for the CBR.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Engine warranty being VOID due to change in tyres.. is nonsense...
There is NOTHING like that.. you can put tyres from any company as long as it has the same standard dimensions.
I am getting my front tyre changed today to MRF from Continental.
Front Continental lasted for 23000kms,
Rear Continental lasted for 18000kms.sigpic

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hey, how much did you pay for the tyres both front and back. I changed my rear tyre recently(19,500 Km) , I paid 3500 for it(Conti go). My front tyre is also due for replacement its got ~2mm of tyre depth remaining. Looks like, I am getting similar mileage from tyres like you.Originally posted by Avenger88 View PostEngine warranty being VOID due to change in tyres.. is nonsense...
