my greetings to the pround owners and admirers of cbr250r,i am newbie and i wanted to ask you guys a question and actually my question is not just directed towards the owners of cbr250r but to anyone who has had experience with fuel injected bikes.i am about to purchase the new karizma zmr 2014 model and i know you guys are gonna tell me that it looks like crap and the legacy has been destroyed and to be frank i thought that myself, but yesterday i got a call from hero dealer and he persuaded me to just come and test ride the machine and i agreed and as soon as i entered the showroom and looked at the bike i gotta admit it didn't look that bad and in fact if looked kinda cool and fresh and that dual headlight just was an eye candy and fairing was fairly large so it looked sufficiently beefy and it kinda started growing on me and then rode the machine and was also impressed with the seating position..uh uh..sorry i didn't mean to start blabbing about my karizma crush here..well my question to you guys is that can a fuel injection system be trusted because i know it has a lot of advantages it evidently is the future of carbs but what happens if it breaks down and you are in middle of nowhere alone and i also know that even if you do find a mechanic he is not going to be able to fix it because it need trained personnel to be repaired so how much can a fi system be trusted ,is it a NO NO or can it be trusted with ?.plz help me out guys i need your advice on this!

You can trust fi system as all new automobiles are fi based. Carb is thing of past. As long as you maintain your bike in top condition it won't let you down. Just ensure you fill her up at goodband trusted fuel station.

I have not faced starting issue even once in the last 3 years of my ownership. All it takes is a single thumb press.

thanks aneeshd99,but surely there must be some symptoms that can tell you before that the system needs replacement or repair, can you tell me something about that?

The pump would stop priming fuel, it would choke and the bike won't start. Possibility of a pump failure is very rare brother, maybe one in few few thousands. That 5 year warranty would be a savior here.
              Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Symptoms of clogged injectors are jerking. Starting troubles. . But you can use some injector cleaning additive in regular intervals.. like once in 5k kms or as required. Injectors and pumps don't fail that often.

Irrespective of whether the bike is carbed or FI, every bike needs to maintained well. When done so, it won't break your faith. My freinds has a Apache 150 and has done 1,00,000kms without its engine being worked on. So maintainance is the key. As far as F machines are concerned, I haven't faced any issues is my 21k journey with CBR, so decide for yourself.

Last weekend I was in for a shocker. Friday evening I was playing around with the Pilot LEDs, and distracted by some other work, I left the bike as it was (Pilots ON) and went back to my house. LAter, it rained heavily and I completely forgot about the bike parked downstairs and the Pilots drawing battery power. Saturday morning I realized my mistake. Went downstairs immediately to check on the bike. Yes, the key was in ignition. Everything was blank - the LEDs, the speedo console, the neutral lights. A dead battery.

I was despaired, worried whether it would start again, and whether I would need to dismantle the battery and get it charged. None of that was needed. A short push, a cluck of the gear, and Vroom!!!!!!! 30 seconds later, the Speedo console lit up, and two minutes later, the lights and horns were back up. 15 minutes of riding, and everything was back to normal, including selfstart.

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

so that means a fuel injected bike can also be started with a push and gear, can it be done on zmr also?
