Re: New Honda CBR250R launched in Indonesia
interestingly the power has been bumped up by 28.5 bhp which might make it a true 100mph bike..also i am sure the engine and components are the same.Originally posted by bprags View Post
a better ECU map or by exchanging parts with the new one can help the old bike too to touch the 28.5 mark from current 25/26 bhp setup
that exhaust is an eyesore...
chrome ... seriously ??? with the white paint"A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

The engine might be a slightly re-bored is what i think, but also a sprocket size change is almost equally likely.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postinterestingly the power has been bumped up by 28.5 bhp which might make it a true 100mph bike..also i am sure the engine and components are the same.

Man I am a sucker for twin headlamps, but from the design perspective, i think it won't be swapable with the current models. What a shame..!!
The Exhaust could have been done better, that does look ridiculously out of place and cheap.

Sent from my Nexus 5 using TapatalkNext service is at 6000kms, and I'm anyways not planning to wait till then to change the filter. I've written to Honda about the service issue and the tank change that has to happen (under warranty), and if I dont get a convincing reply from them soon, I will get a fully paid service done at 2000kms. I'm planning a ride this weekend, so that should add up another 850kms or so to the existing 1000kms that my bike has done.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostThere won't be any immediate effect per-se. But it is not a good practice to run fresh oil with old oil filter

Some Carbon fibre look or Vinyling could have been applied over there along with Chrome finish.
Only that peeling off colors from Exhaust muffler will no more there in new versions.
I also do wish if I can covert the existing front frame with new twin headlamp one.

Well, i guess not much hope of that happening.Originally posted by hypheni View PostThe Exhaust could have been done better, that does look ridiculously out of place and cheap - EXACTLY same from my side too.

Yeah, wrapping the exhaust shield is a must do i guess if it ends up in the ugly version in that.

as per their update they mentioned revised intake and exhaust , polished head, lighter exhaust, remapped ECU.. that should do the trick for adding another 2.5 pony
also i assume from a 14/38 setup they might move to a 14/37 setup or even 15/58 setup for true 100mph..
however i bet that there wont be changes major changes in the engine or gear ratio's for this bike. that much of R&d for a facelift of a 250 commuter bike wont be fruitful for either company..trust me..

Re: New Honda CBR250R launched in Indonesia
Indeed, but doesn't sprocket mods change the gear ratios by a considerable factor. I mean, we can almost be certain that a sprocketing change will be there, considering that the current setup isn't all that friendly for anything apart from highway riding.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postas per their update they mentioned revised intake and exhaust , polished head, lighter exhaust, remapped ECU.. that should do the trick for adding another 2.5 pony

true.. what i meant was that yes they will tinker with the sprockets only however no changes to inside geometry of the gear shafts.
and we can replicate the same on old cbr's
replace exhaust- loose 3kg
get a polished head, with revised intake and exhaust - Joel can do it and have done it on few cbr's
and a ECU remap if honda agrees to do it.. i am sure we'd make a few ponies more..
change the 14T to 15T and it will become and absolute mile muncher..
alternatively you can move to a 13T setup to make the ride more flickable and dynamic but then you'd loose out on top-end and FE..."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

Although I wouldn't want that 13T setup, anyway my traffic rides are bare minimum , i guess it is just fine for me as it is.

Re: New Honda CBR250R launched in Indonesia
krish2778. That is strange. In fact, my experience was the opposite - the current setup seemed most unsuited for highway cruising. The bike felt very peaky, esp in 1st and 2nd. And so, I went in for a 15T rear and wow. The character of the bike changed almost completely from an irritated, snarly, snappy teenager to a mature, expansive adult. The other day, I rode a friend's stock model and really hated it. Paradoxically, my cornering has improved dramatically AFTER the change to a 15T, perhaps because the power is now being laid down much more progressively and evenly. The chicken strips are getting narrower and narrower. Haven't gone over the limits yet but getting closeOriginally posted by krish2778 View PostIndeed, but doesn't sprocket mods change the gear ratios by a considerable factor.
