Thanks. I am not sure I would get Motul cleaner and lube in Kanpur. Let me see if I can find online.

I am still learning things, and acquiring stuff like paddocks and all. Once I have those, I would do most of these in my own garage.

    Thanks again.

if you think chain is loose. the slack should not be more than 10-20 mm if yes then get it tightened.

engine oil needed is 1.5 Litre Full Synthetic.
      honda OEM is 10w 30 i gues..
as of now ask them or force them to put only full synthetic oil only.. 1.5 L

as of general my SVC uses Motul or Wurth chain spray.. but one for 100 bucks small bottle and no need to visit SVC..
go through the pages and you'd see my post on DIY for chain cleaning and from many other FM's too

clean the rim by wiping with cotton cloth dipped in diesel else wahs it off with normal shampoo
Thank you for sharing these tips, I would follow.

I would hopefully take care of these my own in future. I was upset because ASC messed up things instead of taking care. They even charge for these. I am actually concerned about poor services offered by HMSI ASC.

There are some automatic chain lubricators available in market, I don't know exactly how they are programmed to lube the chain w.r.t time or distance travelled.
But it normally has a container/hoses/lubricator nozzle & controller. Placed right above the chain, it lubes chain at interval of some distance or time.

Its a bit costly & only useful for long travelers and who do it often.

But best way to lube in a trip is to locate any Honda ASC and lube the chain & Vroom..

Check the Ninja 300 thread. Abhimanyu sir has installed the lubricating setup on his ride.

I follow a very simple process.

When I feel the bike needs lubing, I stop by a wayside restaurant and check for an intelligent-looking chap among the clientele.

Then, I explain to him that I need his help to lube my bike's chain. He is to free-wheel the bike slowly while I follow behind, spraying the chain. At regular intervals, as the dry parts of the chain come up over the swing arm, I will say "stop" and he is to stop. After I have sprayed the part, I will say"go" and he is to resume free-wheeling the bike.

After the job is done, I thank him by way of a tea or coffee or similar token of my appreciation.

I follow the same procedure when commuting. Now, my chaps have understood the drill so I have just to say "chalo, bike mein oil lagaana hai" and the process is smooth.

I use Motul but frankly, have not found any significant advantage or difference over WD-40 barring the huge price gap. So, after the Motul can is finished, I will get back to WD-40.

If you read the owner's manual, a similar process is described there. Using a paddock stand just for lubing the chain is, IMO, overkill. I don't need It even for adjusting the chain.

Check if the chain slider has come out. Might be the chain slider hitting the swing arm. had similar sound before and found chain slider to be the source.

I had a similar issue in my 150R when it was 3000 Km old and in my case also it was the Crankshaft that created the noise. It was replaced under warranty.

                    • Clutch is not fully disengaging
                      Hi,

I am an owner of 2012 model 150R. I need some help here to find out whats the problem with my clutch. Seems like it is not fully disengaging, and when I give throttle, rpm is increasing immediatley but the bike is not moving with respect to the throttle. I doubt that clutch is having some problem. Is it possible to fix this under warranty, if anything wrong in the clutch system.

Next week I am going to shift to nagpur. If any CBR owners here from nagpur, please suggest me a good ASC in nagpur.

Check the clutch setting , it needs minimum 10mm @ the end of lever , what is the grade of engine oil you are using ,it should not be too viscous & should be 4T in any case , check the chain slack & air filter condition if it choked.

Worst case is clutch plates reaching end of life. It is not covered under warramty as it is a wear and tear part. Check the freeplay and see if adjusting freeplay can get the problem sorted. Hopefully its a loose clutch free play.

Check the clutch for wear and tear, also check if the clutch wire has worn out. If you are feeling the bike is not accelarating as per the throttle, get the throttle body checked. I had the same issue and a little adjustment in the throttle body made me come back to the game.

                              Hi Friends,

Can somebody advice which liquid wax/shiner is best to apply after getting bike washed. I want it to be applied to all body parts (including full fairing, engine cowls, tank, under seat area & rear mudguard cover). Also advice best chain cleaner & lube combo.

How often can I apply the liquid wax/shiner to the bike, I'm having Formula-1 car wax which I apply to my NS once in a fortnight after getting extensively washed but this time want to opt for a liquid which can be applied to fiber parts as well for both NS & CBR250R.

what will be the approx cost for all & availability in HYD.

                              Hi Friends..

Has anybody got any type of crash-guards/engine guard/boffins fitted in your bikes ?

Mine is a Repsol Edition & am worried if something such happens, getting those Repsol Edition fairing panels would be extremely painful & expensive. Advice what protections plans are available in market currently. I have seen on Baccho Motors website, crash boffins are costing 5500 for the side protection.
