Roger that.. Ya, it has valve system unlike shims. Will replace the tensioner next service. Thanks man

PS: R15 has some sort of cam chain pulley which user can use to tighten the cam chain. Got to check that out

It's been 21K's on the odo, and off late, my clutch seems to be getting loose (read increase in free play at the lever). I took it to the SVC, but the guy says it's natural and will get loose over time. Right now i have about 1 inch of free play on the lever. I've tightened it by adjusting the nut on the lever thrice. Is this something i have to be concerned about? And once on the paddock stand, and i engage the gear, the rear wheel rotates even when the clutch is pulled in. Is this natural? Is the clutch plate getting a hit?

your clutch wire seems to be EOL and going to give away soon if its pulling. the strands are breaking. go to SVC asap and get a new wire. 120 bucks.
and yes the wheel will spin by some amount " some " means you can see the tyre tread .. it should be real slow if not then the clutch is not operating as its supposed to. new wire is the solution and 21k is pretty good life for a wire being used day and day out...

Yeah, i did actually change the clutch cable about 300kms back. I had the same problem even before, but not to his magnitude. I even feel the gear shifts are notchy and not smooth. I did tell the Mechanic at the JSP SVC, will go again and persuade him to properly do it. But, could you tell me what the problem would be? Maybe the whole clutch assembly is misaligned in some way? Any guesses? The cable is fine, i visually inspected it. I used to have this problem with my bullet, where the casing used to be removed and the clutch would be manually tightened, not just a minor cable adjustment.

Anyone using Xena disk locks for CBR here? Talking about this. If I remember correctly bbsr(xBhp member, I might spelled it wrong) is using one. Anyone else who is aware of this Xena locks ?

Yea, been using it from Yamaha days; what is that you need?

You may want to post the question here in a relevant thread if its related to disc locks

Hi all, This is my first post in xbhp but i've read so many posts in this forum which gave me a lot of info about CBR250R.
I am from Chennai and i got my new Red CBR 3 weeks back and still waiting for the first service deadline. ODO reads 680km. I don't do sudden acceleration , but went upto 80-85 max in 5k rpm on the 6th gear. I don't cross more than 5.5k rpm in the lower gears. Now recently i am hearing the "clank" sound of gear switching which is a bit louder than before. And also the gear shifting seems to be a bid harder than it was a week back. Is it the right time for a service? Will these be solved in my first service? And my SVC is Maansarovar Honda,Medavakkam. I want to see how they service my bike, but skeptical whether they will allow me in. And what will be the approx. cost in my first service, provided they call it "free service". Thanks in advance

Did you buy the ABS version? I thought dealers didn't take bookings and the production of CBR250R had stopped? If it indeed is the ABS version then did you have any waiting period for the bike?

I got the Non-ABS version. But i was lucky to get my bike in 1 and half months, provided they gave a 3 month waiting period. And i even checked the chassis number to know about the manufacturing month and year. The 9th and 10th character was D and F. So it was manufactured on April 2015 i guess.

XX6 is slightly looser, no harm though; XX10 will be a perfect fit IMO. XZZ6...I've no idea, sorry.

5.5K RPM is myth, you can go even higher as long as its gradual; yes, pls go in for an oil change now & one after 1000 Km; time & again...JSP Honda Aminijikarai OR Didar Egmore has beeb screamed been all over this forum; Pls refer few pages back about seeing how the bike is serviced; cost will attract only consumables on engine oil & engine oil filter, labor is free

First service of my 250r done last month(Bangalore). Total cost was Rs.1898(including engine oil, oil filter, consumables, chain lube). They charge Rs.200 only for chain lube.

Thanks aargee sir and hari. I contacted the SVC and made an appointment for my first service by tomorrow morning around 7.30. They also assured me of delivering my bike by end of the day.

Try to stay with the bike when it is being serviced, just to make sure they treat it right.
If you are comfortable not to be around and trust it in their hands all is well..!!

happy to know XX6 does the job well for u. I would like to know whether you faced any false alarm happened with XX6, as it will be really annoying with 120dB sound. And how long the battery last as per your usage?
