Not saying much, just in two sentences...the front brakes on sayhi2sai is equivalent or beats Ninja 250R's braking any day, any time & any where. 101% reliable & most importantly absolute effortless.

Thanks for the good review and was waiting to hear from someone like thisOriginally posted by sayhi2sai View PostIt has been over 4k kms since I have started using the Galfer HH rated disc pads instead of the stock, and the Galfer makes a world of difference to the stopping potential of the bike and thus, the rider confidence. Now before, somebody tries to ask for clarification, let it be noted that I have ridden 3 different Ninjas before,(not for long, but enough to test the brakes). And back then, I envied the initial bite the front brake offered. That feeling of just a feather touch to the lever and the jolt of your entire body trying to get over the tank. That's what I have been missing until I got the Galfers. I am afraid to apply the brakes in traffic because I am sure no one behind me can have that potential, they are just that good. Period
The only problem though seems to be the huge front dive the bike seems to experience under such enormous force. It is not a major issue once you get used to it, but there certainly might be others who never will. Afterall, they do say No pain, No gain right?
. I have used the brakes in wet, hot, humid and in the ghats(Masinagudi-Ooty-Mettupalayam nonstop). I was prepared to be disappointed by the brakes especially in the ghats filled with traffic, where you have to keep braking ever so often, making the brakes lose their efficiency. But they held their own against all odds, and worked just the way they did under any other circumstance.
Now, here is the most interesting part that almost, if not all people would be interested in, VFM. One set of disc pads cost HOLD YOUR BREATH!, 1500 rupees
including international shipping (if more than one set is ordered, else 1800), while the stock pads cost believe it or not, 2000 /- odd rupees
. My first set of disc pads(stock) lasted for 15800 kms after which I replaced them even though I still had some life left to use on the pads. Now, if the Galfer are just as good in the resilient department as the performance department, then I am expecting a life of atleast 20k kms from them. Now, do I need to elaborate more about the VFM this product offers
.
Aargee rode my bike for a considerable stretch where he got to test the brakes, among other things. So, maybe he can drop in a few words about his feelings too (not for me, because he already told me
, but for the community)
. From which site did you ordered. It will cost 1800Rs/-(for a single pair) including shipping, customs etc.? Then that will be amazing. When I bought my tinted windscreen from TYGA(Thailand) it costed me around 3500Rs/- including everything

ABSOriginally posted by techfreak View PostSayhi2sai interesting to read your take on the brake pads. Can you please clarify ur biker is ABS or Non ABS? and also the part number of the brake pads you ordered.

Please note that these only fit the ABS version and they only have the front disc pads, as the rear disc pads seems to be different on the Indian spec version from what they told me.
@Binoy, yes they cost around 1800 for a single pair, including everything(shipping, packing, customs etc etc
). It's best to combine your order with someone else who needs it and get them shipped together. It took me around 15 days(actual) to receive them after placing the order.
P.S :- I would like to thank Ram, a.k.a thefastestindian for suggesting me these brake pads.

Need some help on getting parts
Hi everyone,
I have been riding the CBR250r for about a yr now (yes. i am one of the 1st day 1st show owners). Just got done with the 1 yr 3rd service and lo, I got my 1st problem.
I saw a few drops of liquid under the engine casing, suspected it to be oil excess. But it was not as viscous as oil. Saw the engine temp rising and took to the closest ASC (Manasarovar Honda, Velachery).
They figured out the issue was the radiator coolant tube having a leak and that needs replacement (I suspect it appeared only after the service).
And as usual, they are saying the good old "Spares not available, has to come from Honda story".
I have read from previous posts that Didar motors seem to have a decent stock of spares.
Is there anything I can do to get the spares?
Any contact numbers in Honda Regional office to get the spare?
Any help is greatly appreciated. My bike is lying idle with them for about 5-6 days now.
Thanks,
Navaneeth

I strongly suggest you make an effort and try to get things done from your side. Try calling up a few ASC's and find out if your part is available with them. But, be prepared not many of them are going to be courteous even, let alone helpful. Didar is launching an exclusive CBR service center in Egmore. The inauguration was completed yesterday and it should start operation in a week or two, so I suspect they will try to keep most, if not all the spares. So please get in touch with the ASC.Originally posted by rnk View PostHi everyone,

Need help on Suspension
Guys help me on this.Originally posted by Chandru Raj View Post
Also, one more thing I noticed is, even in small bumps on road I feel I am thrown off the seat. I weigh a decnt 70 kgs and 5'11'' tall. This is a bit uncomfortable. When I ride with a pillion the comfort level is improved. But I love the leaning angle and cornering ability with this suspension setting. Guys, which suspension setting you recommend for a smooth ride. Also comment on the cornering ability of the bike if I change the stock setting.CBR250R |

Bajaj CT 100
Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.
It was not that far on the map.

Please check your tyre pressure. More often than not, we tend to overlook the most easiest solutions to the biggest problems. That being said, if you can, have a look at your suspension setting and post it here. If you have not changed your setting from stock, it is at one notch lesser than the softest. I personally have set it to the softest, and regarding your question of comfort and confidence in cornering, it is a matter of getting used to. But you should not have any problems cornering the bike, I have done insane angles in the softest setting. Please go through the log here . There is a cornering pic, I was doing close to 80kmph in that angle, so it's your decision to make. But first, TYRE PRESSUREOriginally posted by Chandru Raj View PostGuys help me on this.

Then talk to Didar if they've the spares; if you're very confident, ask Manasarovar to get it from Didar.Originally posted by rnk View PostI have read from previous posts that Didar motors seem to have a decent stock of spares

PS - You seem to buy from Chandra, got your first service at Kun & third at Manasarovar. If you do this, you'll get very poor support from ASC. Just my opinion & HMSI doesn't advice this either.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Recent Trip Summary
I thought I should put things into perspective after our(Aargee and Me) recent trip of over 1700 kms in three days. Day1-750kms, Excellent, good, bad, off ,no, half, construction roads(mostly KA). Day2-400kms Again repeat of day1(again mostly KA). Day3 - 600kms, mostly good, except for diversions. Needless to say, the suspension kept taking beating after beating, pothole after pothole, and we kept jumping. We had 0 problems (except RG's taillight stopped working), 0 niggles . We threw them into every corner we saw, and they just took it with a big grin, putting even bigger ones on our faces. We beat an R15V2 to pulp, when he tried to race us, even though we had already done 270 kms that day, we needed a telescope in the rear view mirror to spot him, in the span of two corners.
Here is the best part, day3-RG and me suddenly decided to do a mileage test after ripping the bikes from Ooty-Mettupalaym, and believe it or not, inspite of the constant accelerating and deceleration in the ghats of about 60 kms, we still achieved a mind boggling mileage of 45.6kmpl(both the bikes, not just one). Now, that being said, it just goes on to prove the fact that CBR is undoubtedly one of the best bikes that money can buy and it is more often than not heavily underrated !
P.S :- The mileage was tested over a range of 350kms Ooty-Ullundurpet(ooty-mettupalaym-sathyamangala-salem-ullundurpet) at a constant 80kmph in 6th gear at 5krpm. It was mind numbingly boring and tiring, and if not for the company, i would have never ever been able to do it.
