Well, the pollution output of my 2012 CBR 250 measured by the PUC centre is less than the BSIV limit. The CO and HC levels were too low to register on the machine. On the subject of machine accuracy, the PUC centre in Chennai also used to display the same reading. Make of that what you will. [emoji10]

I did, a few pages back. And looking, back, I find that the readings do vary. I guess the emission warranty by Honda is over, being 3 years or 30k kms.

            Is the battery leaking?

              No. That's the coolant.

Check the coolant level, and show it to the service centre.

Looks like the lower cylinder gase-kit got busted. Sir get your bike to ASC ASAP.

Worse scenario: If coolant is mixing with engine oil. Do check through the engine oil checking glass, if it looks like white emulsion then get the bike toed directly to ASC and DO-NOT crank the engine.

The engine oil looks normal. I guess its the thermostat cover. I can see dried up coolant there as well. Rest all seems normal. Coolant level is also normal. Temp does not cross three bars. Will check with the ASC tommorow.

And please dont call me sir. I am just 20[emoji4]

Isnt it spelled gasket? I haven't heard of gase-kit.

Have done 110 km ride today with single break after 50km. Total odo reads 284 km now. Below are my impression.

                        * Felt very smooth in highway with few gear shifts but in city need frequent downshifting to avoid engine knocking.

*Last month I have done 560 km trip ie from bangalore to cochin in my dazzler and there was very minimal body pain. But today I am feeling more body pain than that having done only 110km.

*Sometimes the gear shift from neutral to first gear is very noisy like in bullet 500 and dominar.

*Riding on potholes didn't feel at all. In my dazzler it was very evident.

*Accelerator is bit tight compared to dazzler

I hope after first service things will get better.

Went to svc today to buy engine coolant and some other spares.

As Ignition switch/lock and headlight switch are creating problem even after spraying with WD40. So asked price for these parts too.
                          Ignition switch 12,500/-
                          Headlight switch 4,925/-
                          Engine kill switch 1,950/-

I don't know of what precious material these are made of. Are these prices justifiable?

Hey all! Today I rode into the city to resume the running in of my CBR. I've been trying to connect with the bike to find a name for her/him. Bunch of names have popped up, but I don't know if I've found THE name yet. Anyhow, the sentimental apart, I rode for about 60km around Bangalore in varied traffic conditions, all the time with Fiance on pillion. The ODO rests around 250km as of EOD today. Impressions of the day's ride:

                            1. The bike heated up enough to roast my thighs in stop and go traffic, but open roads immediately cool off the bike. I think Honda could have done a better job of redirecting the heat away from the rider's legs!
                            2. The bike is a dream to handle in traffic. It was not as difficult as I expected. I did find myself restricted to the first two gears(mostly 1st). Even though the bike seems huge, it fits into gaps in the traffic surprisingly well. I found enough torque to make city riding fun. I felt that the suspensions are set well enough for Indian roads and riding.
                            3. Fiance thought it would be a good idea to use my back as a pillow as the heat began to get to her. I didn't have any troubles supporting her weight on the bike for a long time. I did end up with a slight wrist pain whenever I was braking hard, but apart from that, it was surprisingly comfortable on the CBR. Maybe I need to thank the universe for keeping me interested in going to the gym, because I did not expect this transition to be as smooth as this!
                            4. The RVMs are so good! I did not expect them to be as good as they are!
                            5. The position of the gear and brake pedal are really uncomfortable for me. Didn't anyone else have an issue with the position of these pedals? Is there a way to get this repositioned as per our preference?

Along with these, I also have a question for Bangalore based CBR owners. I want to get some decal work done on the bike(VR46 numbers, sponsor logos and stuff like that). Do you guys know anyone who does a good job of this? Money IS an object - I can't spend a lot on decal work. Couldn't get any pics of the beauty today. Will find a location for a photoshoot soon.

Guys I recently swaped my tyres for Michelin pilot street radials which costed me 9200rs from bm lal bros on Lloyd's road in Chennai , first impression felt the grip was poor , coming from mrfs thats a surprising statement, I was worried maybe I got a old tyre or a something else, thought I'll give it time to set, atm I'm worried I might have wasted my money but time will tell, prior to this I had a normal mrf tyres revs 110-70 and 140/70 tho put on a Temp mrf soft compound racing tyre, which made my front end extremely good, now I'm wondering maybe im not used to the grip of the Michelins or they haven't set in or I got a defective tyre, I'm very confused right now. Well the race tyre was free for me. I am considering moving back to mrfs if the front end doesn't improve tbh , will check alignment too.
