  • Re: Honda CBR 250R

Bumping up a query i had a few weeks back.
What would be a fair price to ask for a Red CBR 250R Std - 13 months old - 9k km run with extended 4th year warranty. Insurance recently renewed.
I paid 1.6 for it last year all inclusive in Gurgaon.

Any actual transactions data would be of great help.

I bought a 5 months, 1.5k kms run CBR STD, no extended warranty, for 1.4 lacs in bangalore (OTR price at that time was 1.78 lac here)

Same query here. My bike is the May 2011 model, candy red, done ~7000 kms, new bty etc. How much should I expect? It was 1.61 when I bought it.

It will be on sale the moment bookings open for the Triumph Bonneville.

Ah well! you have some time to ponder over that then. A quick olx/quikr search tells me that 1.15 should be an honest price to sell it. Will update when i am able to sell it.

The duke 390 came out with a price tag comparable with the cbr 250 abs tricolor in Bangalore. Similar features better power and similar fuel consumption although I suspect it to be lower. It will give tough competition to the cbr. I look at my 2013 tricolor and wonder was it worth it?

The duke 390 only does not appeal to me for it being naked and lacking fairing and the near impossible pillon seat.

Besides I have heard that dukes are electrically delicate[ having lot of sensors] sensitive to rain and parts.

Although I wonder whether this duke is electrically speed restricted? Also I wonder if there is a practical applicability to the power it contains, I find it hard myself to utilize the full power of my cbr in normal conditions.

edit just saying so because I really wanted my money's worth, i suppose the more I ride the cbr I would learn to appreciate it.

fairing can increase the costs by 15k at the most.

                    Yo Lucky guys,
Finally, it happened. My Ceeber tipped over if not a drop . I parked it bit high up in the ramp in front of my compound out of habit as I used to do with Fiero. Came back from a super ride and started doing my weekly cleaning of bike. Though always advocate others to check the ramp incline before you park etc - I disengaged my brain and started cleaning the right side with some pressure and Ceeber in slow motion tipped over to left with me trying to hold it from rear right on instinct - super fool.
Damage - surprisingly no scratch to any fairing part - the weight was taken by left mirror and clutch lever. Clutch lever is bent - but still ride-able. Bad scratch to back of left mirror - but still no replacement needed.
Any way a visit to ASC was any due this week because somehow a small clamp holding a sensor cable (i think) from front brake is missing after last visit to ASC.
Immediately went there, to find out that they saw it but failed to tell me. What?. Was told that that tiny clamp is out of stock. Again what?.
I am riding with that wire now taped to the adjacent one so that it won't loop out and catch something. Oh man!.

Since I have to replace the clutch lever - any place here in Blr where I can get a cool gold lever? .

You don't need to change the lever (unless you really want to e.g. to get an anodized gold coloured one, as you posted)

Get a traced drawing of a normal, undamaged lever from any random CBR/ from the ASC.

Remove the lever from the housing. Then, take a normal-sized hammer and wrap some old cloth around it. If you can get a soft plastic mallet, that is the best. Hammer out the kink in the lever using a plane surface; try to match the curvature of the brake lever as closely as possible. To do this, keep the lever on the tracing and match the two as accurately as possible.

If you use firm taps and don't strain the lever, it will not snap and instead, return to its original shape.

I have used this method to resurrect a fellow CBR (not a member) owner's clutch AND brake levers.

Try it. If it works, you save some money. If not, you can go for cool gold

I have been getting annoying "tak tak" sound from the chain (I guess). I checked the chain, lubed it and got it tightened at the svc. The sound comes when I try to accelarate to say 50kmph and above or go over any uneven road. Could anyone here tell me the reason and the remedy??

Is fairing rattling or is it coming from the gear box assembly? can you check the rear hugger thing near the rear tyre?

now my question how do you open the the valve on the crank case breather tube.

My handle wobbling issue at speeds from 65-80 Kmph has been solved finally ......... Got a new front tire from Continental .... they replaced it for free and took back the old tire

Wat i noticed is that.. My old tire has the name METRO alone but no where Continental is written but on my new tire CONTINENTAL is alone written no where Metro is written .....

I guess that sounds quite familiar. If thats coming from the engine side or so. It gotta be the tensioner. My Karizma had a ditto issue and twice it identified that the tensioner was the issue. You might wanna take a expert's opinion.

So this is one more issue people having wobbling in the front end should remember.
