hi guys., I've just moved in to bangalore and my 150R is due for its final free service.., and I have a lot of works to be done during servicing.
Suggest me a good ASC to give my bike for servicing. I reside at Ecity and location of the ASC is not a problem as long as they are good in their work.
The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

I guess its because of the contact patch or area of the tyre rubber on the tarmac.

If you watch carefully.. you will notice that the Conitgo tyres are less curvy than PSD's or MRF's or Dunlops.
This will inturn result in the illusion that Contigo tyres are fatter than the rest even if they are of the same tyre size.
i checked with a few folks who i suggested dunlop and they agreed that they are getting better FE... no solid quotes but this confirmation is certainly positive..

i believe that the part and ritual for every expensive ride out there.. the more powerful the ride.. the more pressure the parts are under.. more wear and tear..
we gotta just live it with it..

ex : A R1 needs a tyre replacement every 4k.. and the tyre costs nutin short of 10K... it just eats the tyre due to the sheer power..
riding is an expensive hobby... ain't it ?.. the look that peole give.. the maniac sounding engine and the pleasure that touches the soul surpassing the brain.. makes up for that..

Its the sportbike stage 3 morimoto kit from the retrofit source... cost was about $150 for the projector kit and 2200 for the spare headlight assembly. ..

Me and a couple of friends have planned a trip to Daman, nearly 350kms on the CBR. Apart from the tire pressure, regular rest at 1 hour intervals and checking the bag fastened to the rear seat, is there anything else to be kept in mind? What are the indications of a screw coming loose? as bbsrailfan mentioned the tank is mounted clumsily and it makes a rattling noise as it is.

On a side note, I had my first tiny accident on my bike yesterday and it feels as if someone stabbed you with a cold knife. But more on that later when I can upload the pictures.

Congratulations. I can understand the pain Honda ASC guys put you through. I was told the same reason that 'ABS CBR isn't manufactured anymore' by Prashankar Auto. Enjoy your ride. Cheers!

It's heartening to know that the plastics would be covered under insurance within the 1st six months (just completed 5 months :P). Are you sure I don't need a FIR?

After witnessing yesterday's crash (drop at 85-90kph, slide on tarmac for ~20m), I am actually beginning to revere the CBR's build quality. The fairings actually held through the impact and remained intact, though badly bruised. The RVM had a foam padding inside with shatter-proof glass. The clip-on took some impact and got slightly bent. Overall, the bike was in a very rideable shape after the crash and I could have rode it all the way back to Bangalore, if the rear brake pedals weren't dislodged. Infact, I managed to fix the bent clip-on and the rear brakes and rode it to work today - it's still running perfectly without a rattle.

PS: Since you guys are already discussing about frame sliders, let me add my 2 cents - An observation from yday's crash - if you are getting local ones ~2000 bucks or less, they would be helpful in preventing a few bruises on the fairing, but I really don't find any point in going for the expensive ones that cost 6k and more, especially when I can get my fairing replaced at a lower cost!
Sorry to hear about the incident. Hope you have already contacted the service center guys. when the insurance guys contact you, dont tell them that it was your bro who was riding when the incident happened, else they will not cover your repair expenses. Also as other mentioned, no need of an FIR as noone else(i mean no other person or vehicle) was involved in the crash. And when you leave your bike at the ASC you will have to submit a copy of your driving license, RC and also a copy of the insurance letter and a cancelled cheque

Edit: another thing, tell the ASC guys to check for any cracks on the internal cowls too and get those replaced even if they find a slight crack.

You're thinking too much. Just ride! No bolts will come loose. I just returned from a 900 kms ride and the bike was just fine

Looks promising. I have been observing the same over eBay. I really loved the dual angel eyes projectors.
*However all are selling projectors with HID kit which are worthless with a slim ballast. I had a old ac ballast (bigger ballast) HID on my karizma and it was very bright compared to friends hid kit with a slim ballast with same colour bulb.
* My second concern is I need a 4300kelvin temp hid bulb. All seem to sell 6000k which I really don't need.

Do u know any place where they sell only good quality projectors ?

Hello,
Went out for a long ride yesterday, upon returning and before leaving it for the night, when the engine was still hot I switched it off and when I switched it on, there was a distinct sound of the timer chain rattling, or the rattling of the chain inside the engine. Is it normal? or is it the tappet/valve issues? because my old discover also had this sound when I use to go for long rides.

not really normal.. the engine does sound diffrent for like 10 seconds when you restart it but settles down with its regular hum.. if you are sure its the timing chain..

your next ride should be to the SVC...

Never gave sudden burst of throttle was gentle :P

Overall after riding 500kms my experience is like.. Bike is very very good it performed very well even when doing high speeds in rain and especially i was worry free as it has got ABS so felt ease even when braking hard in rain. I noticed handle wobbling at 60kmph and even at 80kmph when i left both hands from handle bars... dint check at speeds below 60kmph ! can anyone confirm this ? is it normal on this bike or something is wrong ?

or u want me to check the air pressure in both the tires ??
