Does this require battery rewiring etc
or is it simply plug & play?
Edit - Just noticed the website, it looks like the unit has to be installed on the bike & I guess there's some amount of rewiring etc to be done.
Anyday, I'd prefer - XENA Motorcycle Security: disc-lock alarms for motorcycles, scooters and ATVS which doesn't voids warranty, no install required & simply easy to use on any motorcycle.Last edited by aargee; 10-01-2011, 12:38 PM.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

IMO , They should have invited you first after all what has happened to you ! But having said that you are right its one of the dealers(NOT ALL) in the city who is arranging all this !
No, you're absolutely right!!! I'd witnessed it about a month ago; they were very serious about racing on Twister & had about 16/18 C250R for the track. They also made full track suit available on the track (I saw atleast 30+ hanging apart from their riders)
Its not racing alone ! If it was they would have mentioned to me get my gear but one thing for sure ... whoever called me specifically mentioned "HONDA CAMP for CBR" ... I think it should be the same as other cities !
Sigh!!! let's see if at all it makes to Chennai
Finally , They have arrived
Finally , Honda is hearing the voice of their life !

Post second service update
In lieu of the track day/cbr camp happening tomorrow, I decided to go get my second service done at 4903 kms. I went to Didar T nagar, and I would rate this service center with 5 stars. Excellent reception and workmanship.
They got rid of all the niggles I had, not like I had many, but still. This is going to be of interest to aargee,
As I mentioned earlier, my bike just wouldn't pull beyond 8.5k rpm in the 6th gear, slope/full crouch /shift at 10.5k rpm, nothing seemed to work, THe needle would magically settle at 8.5k rpm, and like a leech wouldn't move from there. I mentioned this issue prior to the service, and as expected they were absolutely clueless, still to pacify me they said they will take care of it,(i had little or no hopes of it being rectified. I was going to write to Honda post the service). I had instructed them clearly to put 20w40 and nothing else, 20w40 i repeated twice. Post the service, just for clarification I asked which grade oil they put in, with a wide grin he replied 10w30 sir. I felt like slapping him right across his face, but cajoled myself saying, its alright I will check it out and change it after 2k kms if i am not satisfied. I didnot want lose the good rapport I had with the ASC,when this could be an opportunity to learn and experiment. So i said its alright and took the delivery.
So i went to check the top speed of bike today and magically it can climb beyond 8.5k rpm. I dont say it was easy and cake walk, but it did, it was slowly dragging its lazy ass upto 9k rpm and beyond when i had to slow down because of the traffic.
Disclaimer for everything that follows here on :- I am an utter noob and I could be completely wrong when I am saying this, But my personal feeling is that the 6th gear issue had something to do with the grade of oil being used. 10w30 i feel somehow made the engine work harder :P . Because I was there when my bike was being serviced and they touched absolutely nothing related to the engine, except changing the engine oil. So aargee, why dont you change to 10w30 as well and try to check out your top speed in 6th gear.
They also painted my damaged grab rails, the paint just started peeling off on its own, they tried charging me for it, I said i will pay you now, but I will see to it that I will get it refunded from Honda at any cost as it wasn't due to my negligence or because of an accident. It was a manufacturing defect. He said ok, and fitted them back. When i was about to pay, he said "its ok sir, its ok". I guess they are afraid of the big boss
. All in all i am more than satisfied with the way the bike performed today. I am going to set the suspension to hardest as I noticed when i was cornering at 140's i could feel the suspension contracting and expanding.

Sai boss you coming tommorow ??? Please PM me if you are... we could meet up ! and also to chennaites ... The dealer called me again for the confirmation ... and I asked him yet again " what exactly it is " ... He said camp , lunch and some A/C CAB ! @ arrgee I would like to inform you that Honda as informed all the dealers ( guess chennai ) to choose 10 owners for EACH dealer to be present there for the event .. Kindly contact your dealer regarding this ...Originally posted by sayhi2sai View PostIn lieu of the track day/cbr camp happening tomorrow, I decided to go get my second service done at 4903 kms. He also advised me to wear shoes and bring the helmet ... Felt like a school kid for the reminder !

Tks & certainly its a point to think aboutOriginally posted by sayhi2sai View PostThis is going to be of interest to aargee
Where? I mean which road? And are you saying you did more than 9K RPM on 6th?Originally posted by sayhi2sai View PostSo i went to check the top speed of bike today
Mine ALSO does the same; it moves above 8.5K RPM, but at snail pace.Originally posted by sayhi2sai View PostI dont say it was easy and cake walk, but it did, it was slowly dragging its lazy ass upto 9k rpm
Well, there will not be a pull in 6th gear because its over drive.Originally posted by sayhi2sai View PostBut my personal feeling is that the 6th gear issue had something to do with the grade of oil being used
Well, the oil theory on 10W-30 says that, the viscosity of the oil doesn't change as long as the outside temp stays at 30 degree. Which means, the oil can do its job when the temp is 30. Now, does Chennai have 30 degree even in Winter? I don't think so; this is one of the reason why I hesitate to switch from 20W-40.Originally posted by sayhi2sai View PostSo aargee, why dont you change to 10w30 as well and try to check out your top speed in 6th gear
Don't!!! I switched to one step from softest & I'm missing the "Volvo" effect; it isn't that comfortable as softest setting.Originally posted by sayhi2sai View PostI am going to set the suspension to hardest as
