as far as the brake light is not on then be rest assured that the pad is not in contact with the disc.. but again

what we are discussing here is 2 independent devices.. one mechanical and one electrical+mechanical to be in sync...
though your perception is fine but why now park the bike on the stand .. tilt it..

put it in 1st gear and then press the rear pedal gently to the point where it actually feels hitting the disc.. get the gap/play of lever between the light turning on and the brake getting engaged.. also check the free play.. as till where pressing the pedal dosent get the pads to touch the disc.... this is just to reconfirm...

the rpm...

2nd mod : go for front 15T.. cheaper and easier..

but i believe a front 15T and 130/80 would definitely give you a smile.. oh.. i am on the same route...
theironhorse99 The big question is: Where to get a 15T? I too am on the same route but I don't think a 130/80 would be needed, stock tyres should do fine. ;-)

How about a vinyl on the tank?

How about a vinyl on the tank?
PMPsprockets Customer Reviews sprockets available for 20$ and less ... search and few more sites will come in loop. including shipping.. it will cost 2k.. (tried and tested)

http://www.minimobracing.com/store/p...duct_info.html 15T for 30$...

expensive though.. as this will run anywhere between 17k-20k with the next chain set.. so makes around 100-120 bucks for every 1k km travelled.

but the short 1st gear will be solved and better MPG and relaxed cruising are the benefits...

if the local ones is tried and tested and precise to the measurements then ..1500 is worth a try..
if the life is same as stock sprocket...

no point running with a local made for 1500 if it runs for 10k odd kms, we will end up spending similar cost to that of imported better quality ones..

but i wanna really try the Made In India...

and a review in that link as well posted..

you sure ?? you'd wanna vinyl your metallic tank ?? anytime before 3-4 years ??

and i know the answer already

The resale value will drop too.. if you wanna try visual mods try in what you have. . No point giving it a complete change. Why tri color when spending money
. Try something unique...

Some wandering monk told my family that Red wouldnt suit me. Since I already have a Karizma R, dad wants the Ceeber to go away which I cant. Hence the color change. The Tricolor looks the most appealing and stands out among all the Reds nowadays. I am aware of all the legal ramifications that are involved with the color change and will follow them.
As regards the drop in resale value, I dont plan to sell this gem of a bike anytime soon
The only sticker I would need is the small portion that is on the tank. A good aftermarket sticker shop has told me that they have the entire sticker set for it and it looks quite close to the original.
I just needed to know if anyone had done some painting done through Honda and their quality of work

if thats the case go for a colour change.. but then my point it when you are already spending money.. why not stroll around on weekends.
seacrh for good automobile designers.. spend some time with photoshop and also take suggestions from custom painters.. and get a unique theme.

get something that no one has... get the same panels repainted.. why going for tri-colour that already exists... make something new bro...

try out combo's in photoshop... see whats good.. if no go.. you always have ti-colour as backup but i would suggest give you creativity and imagination a shot
let it fly.. atleast an attempt will be worth it..

regarding paint quality.. honda will paint it as the bike comes from factory.. no doubt about that...

Went through pains of staring at the garish green text on the PMPSprockets page, only to find that their shipping is $35, combined with the price of $20 adds up to 3000 odd bucks. I guess the local ones would make better sense in that case

Talking of doing something new...I came across a 'bling' CBR today that was done up entirely in Matte Black, with golden colored alloys, forks, grab rails and accents. There was the CBR emblem in gold on the fairing. Looked stunning, though not my taste.

Honda ASC`s if you must be thinking do not paint, they outsource it,so nothing to say about quality.

He is based in Gujrat I think & is in my other group & fb friendlist.About the performance part I cannot state but it should be atleast as good as oe if not better,I myself has been using similarly locally made in Chennai 13t front sprocket for last 3K kms without any problem atall with the same old 7K kms done chain & rear sprocket.

Thanks for the info bro. Can you share his contacts off-list via PM, as I get to access FB only for a few minutes everyday. An off-list discussion would seem more appropriate.

Did anyone miss me? no? aw never mind

Coming to the point, I got my 2012 tricolor abs yesterday, went out for a ride, and it was a good experience. nearly clocked 75 km.

I will post details about my experience later, but for now can any one tell me
1) For my run in I am varying rps from 3-5 ks, no sudden acceleration etc . I am not in particular mindful of speed, but I am ensuring that the rpms vary between such, during high way rides, and in traffic from 1 to 4.5 k. Also they put FS in my engine so I got to be extra careful for the glazing correct? assuming the worst, what can glazing do to the engine?

2) Also, I think because of the vibrations, the rear view mirrors become loose and I need to tighten them periodically, is it okay? also except for the stems the, mirrors do not move, i.e in the ball socket, I am assuming that since the mirrors are new they are stuck, any solutions would be helpful.

Thanks

Congratulations & welcome to the club. Regarding run-in, you take your bike to even 120km/hr once in a while but gradually...try not to cross 5000RPM(80 km/hr). Regarding the mirrors, yes they tend to vibrate a lot. I am living with this issue since Day 1. Also you will find that the chain also gets loosened up in about 700-800kms. Oterwise the bike is a gem.
