Re: Honda CBR 250R
even the slight oil leakage could turn into a disaster in bad roads(telling with experience). get it fixed immediately if you are going for a long ride.Originally posted by sambit View PostYup. ready for it. As I have just got it painted, I wont change it for atleast an year. Wastage of money
.
The Left Fork seal is broken. Oil leaking very faintly.... But need to go for a long ride tomorrow. Guess it wont damage anything. Any insight?BreaklessBiker

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I have used rolon chain lube, the only problem i found is it stains your rear alloy wheel even if you spray it and alloy it to dry overnight.Originally posted by Shiv_beam View PostGuys, will rolon chain clean & lube do the job for CBR chain and sprocket?
Also carried out the servicing of the bike outside ASC (odo reading-11,000 km,nov 2011 model)under the supervision and guidance of fellow xhbhpian Pruthviraj.
1.oil,oil filter and coolent changed. - Shell advance- RS 804 per litre,Honda ultra radiator liquid- RS 250 around 1.1 litre.
2.Front fork oil drained, cleaned and replenished with new oil and 15mm thick spacer added to increase stiffness of he fork.
3. drained fork oil and new fork oil.
4. Front and rear brake callipers ,chain and sprocket cleaning and greasing.
5.changed headlight bulb to phillips extreme vision. RS 550.Bike on the left side has std bulb and bike fitted with extreme vision on the right.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
The same happened after my first service.Originally posted by gopakumar s pillai View PostI have used rolon chain lube, the only problem i found is it stains your rear alloy wheel even if you spray it and alloy it to dry overnight.
The service centre mechanic applied 3M lube and the next morning during my highway ride noticed the lube sprayed over the rear alloy.
Is there a better alternative? Can't find motul lube in my town.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Motul/3M fling a lot. TRIBOCOR is one lube that is densely thick like grease (liquid grease) and flings less. Very less. But, dirty rims cannot be avoided. A closed chain cover helps.Originally posted by Shiv_beam View PostIs there a better alternative? Can't find motul lube in my town.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
For the very same reason i stopped using rolon chain spray, however lately have started using Cyclo chain lube and found it sticks to the chain and does not leave any stain on the rear alloy wheel, got a 100 ml can for RS 150.Originally posted by Shiv_beam View PostThe same happened after my first service.

Re: Honda CBR 250R rear tyre
Thanks a lotOriginally posted by Pruthviraj View PostThis Pilot Street will fit your bike easily,a 10mm difference in width is less than 7%,so no worries there, but it will increase the height of the tyre and the bike by 8mm,if D200 has a rear hugger see if this tyre clears it easily. The added bonus will be over gearing of bike by maybe 5% ,so the engine will run @ less rpm, fuel consumption might decrese as well.

Re: Honda CBR 250R rear tyre
Sold my CBR250R today...rode it about 4000km in 6months including a 1250km long ride. Though I liked the bike, I did not find it comfy enough for me. I may go for a ZMA-R or Impulse in 2014 - I hate downgrading in terms of tech / engine cc, however, I am a pro-comfort and getting old! The roads don't seem to get better by the day. CBR was my sixth bike... I ll rest for a few weeks, clear my head off memories and then buy a bike next year.

Sad to see it going. Maybe you should consider upgrading to a cruiser instead of downgradingOriginally posted by pitbull View PostSold my CBR250R today...rode it about 4000km in 6months including a 1250km long ride. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yup. I avoided bad roads. did a 300 KM round trip. Not much leakage visible outside. Hopefully all is well inside the forkOriginally posted by surampudijagadeesh View Posteven the slight oil leakage could turn into a disaster in bad roads(telling with experience). get it fixed immediately if you are going for a long ride.
. The problem is, you can change the oil seal of other bikes anywhere(takes less than 1 hr), but CBR's need ASC only, which take around 4-5 hours(Lot of CBRs, one mech.)...

Yes. And not at all satisfied with those lazy A** guys. Thinking of changing the Svc. Dont know, which one would be better though.... Thing is, in general Honda ASC sucks every where.Originally posted by Bibhu View PostWhich service station? Durga honda?
