bbsrailfan. Thanks. I watched the video and the set sits well on the CBR. Will check about the difference between the V1 and the V2 to confirm the match.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I replaced the front and rear brake pads on my bike today, in prep for a long prospective ride. Odo reading was 8882 kms.
The bill was thus:
Front set = Rs 713.04
Rear set = Rs 713.04
Boot Pin Bush = Rs 13.04
Boot = Rs 8.70
Total = Rs 1447.82
Vat @12.5% = 180.98
Addl % = 36.20
Labour = Rs 298.15
Service Tax on labour = Rs 36.85
Grand Total = Rs 2000/-
While my bike was being serviced, another CBR was in the bay for some chain issues. To my horror, I found that both brake pads on this bike had not only worn out completely but the metal plate on which the pads themselves are mounted was now doing the job of the pads. And the owner was blissfully ignorant of this fact and when I informed him, nonchalant about its gravity.
To add to the foolishness, the workshop manager told me that he had advised the owner to put in new pads to which suggestion the owner had a "chalta hai" attitude.
Tomorrow, if the knuckle jams, freezes the wheel at speed and throws the rider, the bike and the company will be blamed for the inactions of one boneheaded buffoon.
One of the workers looking after my bike had a big bandage on his right index finger. On my enquiring, he told me that he had been lubricating a chain when the finger came between the chain and the sprocket. The entire distal phalanx (from the tip to the first joint) of the finger was chopped off without any chance of it being saved. Poor kid - barely 18 odd years old and such a serious accident at this stage in life.
One question. The handle of my bike is quite free rotating on the bearing. Resultantly, when I initiate a turn, the handle moves on its own accord into the direction of the turn. Is this normal or should I get the crown bolt tightened a bit? The assembly is as yet untouched.

Re: Honda CBR 250R rear tyre
Hey would these fit my duke 200 rear. My stock size is 150/60/17. I just love the pilot street radial as i have riden my friends cbr wit the pilot street on and it was like so wow especially when it comes to cornering,but i am not sure if it would be a proper fit for my duke so have not bought them as yet. So guys plzz reply, desperately waiting for ur rplysOriginally posted by gopakumar s pillai View PostThanx to "Riot" for recommending me Michelin and a special thanks to pruthviraj who made umpteen phone calls to various tyre dealers in pune for last two days ,spared his valuable time accompanying me to various shops in pune and got the tyre installed under his supervision.

Re: Honda CBR 250R rear tyre
This Pilot Street will fit your bike easily,a 10mm difference in width is less than 7%,so no worries there,but it will increase the height of the tyre and the bike by 8mm,if D200 has a rear hugger see if this tyre clears it easily.The added bonus will be over gearing of bike by maybe 5% ,so the engine will run @ less rpm,fuel consumption might decrese as well.Originally posted by sanjana k View PostHey would these fit my duke 200 rear. Re: Honda CBR 250R rear tyre
Hello guys, Completed the first service for my CBR on monday(16-dec) & also got the temporary registration papers.
Upon request, i was informed before my bike was taken to the service bay and was allowed to interact with the mechanic as he works on my bike.
The service cost is as follows,
Element oil filter : 252.44
Washer drain : 5.24
Engine oil : 660.26
Chain lubrication : 280
Total : 1197.94
Serive Tax : 168.84
Net Total : Rs.1366.78
Am I being overcharged for chain lube & oil filter?
Pic of the oil filter,
After the service, vibes have almost disappeared & bike revs smoother & easier.
Hit 1K mark on my way home
,
Since got the bike papers & done 1000km, decided to take it to my native for registration.
Started from chennai at 6.10AM tuesday(17-dec), made several stops as this is the first long highway ride for my CBR. Reached sivakasi at 3.00PM.
Total distance : 520km
As said by many, CBR is indeed very comfortable for long rides.

Dont want to disappoint but don't you think you spent too much in getting it painted. You could have got the 2013 models parts for less price. Yea I know it's a bit on the high side ( painting includes alloys/ silencer guard and foot pegs as well) :-)Originally posted by Sid85 View PostDont want to disappoint but don't you think you spent too much in getting it painted. Was quoted 1980 or something for all three fairing parts from 2013 black , a month ago..
Never got it, checked with every service and parts near, none of them had the parts and all of them said the same thing
" we've ordered, don't know if it will get approved, don't know when they will be delivered"
Hence made the decision to paint.
couldn't resist , just hated the silver :-P

Hehe. My obsession for painted Alloys..... Started from My first bike(Star City). Though I am not quite satisfied with the RED alloys of CBR, would change the body to White/Black and alloy to Orange/Yellow soon.......Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostExcept that both of them wear painted shoes...i mean alloys

Changing alloys is fine...but hope you are aware that a significant change in body color would void your RC and you'd have to re-register.Originally posted by sambit View PostHehe.
