  • Thank you DS,MD and Micheal. Will keep updated about it and will try to post pics tommorow.
MD24: thanks for the kind words bro. I usually stay below 80kmph on in-city highways and only exceed it beyond city limits. Yes, i too have seen a lot of accidents on the Ghodbunder road (a very frequent road for me ). Will keep your advice.
As of now, my frequent intercity runs would be stopped for next six months. (Holidays!) And would be looking forward to join G2G's and CBR group rides to fulfil my biking needs.
You gotta risk it.. to get da biscuit !!!

I have confirmed this with Continental guys. They said that we can directly contact them but it's better if We contact HMSI for less running around. Because they(continental) are replacing tyres with only manufacturing defects. If we contact them directly then their people will verify the complaint and then will decide if it's a genuine issue. But if we contact HMSI then HMSI will instruct them to replace the tyre(without verifying) and then they have to replace but they will charge wear and tear. This was told to me by a continental guy.

From a well long distance, i saw two rickshaws join the two lane highway and the were both in the second lane and going one behind other for sometime. I being in first lane did not slow down then. As i went closer, suddenly the second rickshaw shifted to the first lane and by this time i was dangerously close at quiet a high speed. I continously pressed the horn and high beam pass switch but that dint seem to bother him. No signs, no indications by him i braked with all my skill and the bike fish tailed a lot (rear brake pads are still new,so maybe) but i somehow managed to just touch the rickshaw with front tyre and no other drama. I overtook him immediately and asked him to halt at side. The normal sized rickshaw had around 10 people seated with some almost out from the sides. I gave him a good piece of mind to which he replied, "Galti hogayi sahaab, aage se nahi hoga!" to which i was like, "will i be riding behind your rickshaw everytime to wait for a next time? ". I was lucky that there was no vehicle behind me.
I always feel that people on the highways underestimate the speed a "BIKE" can be on and take wrong decisions causing such incidents.
Yes this sucks..have avoided such incidents on NH4, NH8 and NH3 either with a rick or with big ass SUVs who think they own the f****** road by riding in the wrong lane at high speed!
The way I avoid it is by slowing down much before these vehicles are even closer to me so that I have enough control over things myself instead of waiting for them to give way which in all probability they will not! No amount of honking or use of dipper is going to instill sense in such drivers. The only way to avoid an accident here is to back out well in advance even it means losing some time!

you can survive with a compatible brake lever if you dont find the same. But handlebar? Cant say about availabilty and cost but what happend to the handlebar? Was the impact so strong? And other damage to the bike? I am wondering how handlebar got damaged by a car hit and no other damage?

Thank you Vasant. My bike is now 7months old and clocked around 5.4k kms. Will try the mail. If no reply, then will call the regional office.
I dont know how it happened!i was having breakfast and heard the sound,i rushed out and saw my dad trying to pick up the bike. The only things damaged were handleber(right side),F. brake lever, and a little dent on exhaust sheild, some coolant also leaked.

That indicates the bike had a fall you were still lucky that there were no plastic part damaged (fairing) as they are hard to source. Keep us updated on the parts you replace. You may try a aftermarket handlebar for cbr if you are already requiring a replacement.

@chicmagnet: believe me bro, i too practise similar, but as i was uphill, i could see the two rickshaws going straight in the second lane for quiet a while. And so i dint think of slowing down. Anyways, lesson part 2 learned. (lesson 1 was from aargee ) hope to meet you as i am in mumbai for a longer time now.

@avenger88: Congrats and welcome to the club bro!

                Welcome.
First and foremost, never expect Honda to release a 2012 CBR 250R.
They will sell the current bike for the next 3 years atleast before they plan for a newer model.
Second of all, as soon as you get ur bike place an order for oil filter so you dont have to wait in vain during the time of ur first service.
Also buy spares and store them at home for future use.
Thirdly avoid using sms lingo on the forum, your post could get deleted.
Fourth use the search function on this thread and find the pdi checklist before you go to pick ur bike.
Last i heard they have loads of CBR stocked in the warehouse.
The PDI list will help you find all the possible defects(if any) and help you choose the best of the lot

Yes, the sound is coming from somewhere near the speedometer area.
I checked the RVMs and tightened all the bolts near that area again.
                  Still the sound is there

                    • when I took delivery (odometer showed 17Km) the last fuel indicator bar was blinking, there was a petrol bunk just 100m away from showroom and I put 4 Litres of petrol immediately. Now it showed 4 bar, and 4th bar was blinking.
At 97th Km, I was left with only 1 bar in the fuel guage.

Can fuel guage bars be mapped to petrol (usable) left in tank?.
For example, when third bar starts blinking we will have "___ltrs" so much left etc?.

Riding within 5K rpm 90% of the time. Twice took it to between 6-7K rpm and hit 110 kmph once in 6th gear. Odometer reading 170Km.

Only the last bar blinks, which is supposed to indicate that the fuel is in reserve. The other bars do not blink they are either on or off approximately indicating the amount of fuel in the tank. When the last bar starts blinking I have about 3 lts fuel in the tank. When I fill the tank full till the level indicated on the neck in the tank only five bars are on. Only once when the attendant filled a litttle more did the sixth bar come on but that was only for a short duration.
Yes fuel bar gauge can be mapped to the amount of fuel in the bike but it could vary from bike to bike.

whenever my bike's last fuel bar starts blinking it has about 4 litres of fuel left and as its tank is of 13 litres normally 1 litre extra easily accomodates in it and then it shows sixth bar for about 2-3 hrs....

As reported on this thread earlier, once the fairing clips are removed, they must be replaced with new ones.
Due to lack of spares, the ASC puts the old clips back
I think this is the cause of it
