Did you leave your bike for service? What about the hard forks?

will upload another video without baffle soon...
dude any help on the pricing of the complete exhaust ??
the O2 sensor wont work if the complete setup is removed. how is the ECU compensating for the same..
would need your comments on the same.
for my bike is done with 1st service.
looking for just a slip-on as of now so it does not void the warranty.
leo-vince , akrapovic and others are like 10% of the bike price for the slip-on."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

Full Exhaust System
The exhaust and other accessories has been brought by my brother from Thailand so i have no idea about the pricing (neither have i asked him nor he told me)....Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postdude any help on the pricing of the complete exhaust ??

O2 sensor works perfectly fine and nothing is compensated for it....
FYI : The O2 sensor is connected with the ECU and is placed on the cylinder head just before the pipe
check the image below and you will get the idea... and do check it on your bike

I m not sure about the warranty issue. "In my opinion" i don't think that the warranty gets void due to the exhaust....
let me say a big part of your warranty getting void depends on your relationship with the dealer, and your talking skills....
I hope my explanation helps....
If anyone has any more details then please contribute..... Thanks....Last edited by Rider_Puneet; 06-28-2012, 02:35 AM.To Infinity And Beyond....

Hello Mik,Originally posted by Mik View PostCovered 3000 km on the Ladakh circuit last week. The bike performed superbly on tarmac but on gravel/sandy roads it was quite a handful. Will be looking for a tyre upgrade soon for more grip on these kind of surfaces.
One issue i faced was that the bike refused to go above 132 kmph on a super stretch in the plains. What could be the possible reason ? - The bike has been through its first service.
The total payload on the bike must have been 110 kg.
Do you have a red CBR? Cause my team crossed a red CBR near the Kargil Memorial on 14 June.
I did the trip on my old Pulsar; I did not dare to take my CBR due to the tyres and ground clearance issues

Right sir, but its not in the cylinder headOriginally posted by psr View PostThe O2 sensor is positioned on the Exhaust bend pipe header close to outlet. This lets the sensor warm up faster and give more accurate reading.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

The stock air filter of the CBR is not supposed to be cleaned, if the need arises get it replaced. Please read the owners manual thoroughly, you will gain basic insight to your vehicle.Originally posted by afficionado View PostThanks for the inputs Mik.So you dint carry fuel on any stretch.Point taken about the tires,Will be careful when riding on gravel.Mine is the ABS version so braking on gravel should be safer when in a straight line at least,I hope.
Another query being,Did u get the air filter cleaned there during the ride?Is it required and Do the mechanics there have the expertise to carry out the job on the CBR?
BTW your travelogue on the 220 was amazing, hope we get similar weather during our ride

Surprisingly, Shockingly and Fortunately
Rode quite a bit in rains on straights, ghats, traffic. My cbr performs fantastic in rains. Can easily cut through the traffics on the wet & ride at a high speed comfortably on an open stretch (on wet roads). Its rock solid. CBR loves the monsoon it seems..
Initially, before experiencing rains & riding on wet tarmac, was little skeptical.. But now, am really happy

Paddock stand
Got my Paddock stand done. can easily put the bike on stand alone!
painted it myself so finishing is not upto d mark. its 90% complete. cost me around 750 excluding painting, could have given it a professional look by opting for spray paints but it was to be kept at home so didnt wana spend much on it

I m (a layman) not so technically sound.....
Just for the clarification... The O2 sensor is connected just before the place where exhaust head pipe is bolted at the exhaust port on the header but not in the exhaust pipe itself.... if in case you remove the full exhaust, only the bend pipe and the muffler is removed but the O2 sensor will be attached to the exhaust port on the header....

I hope it gives more clarification....
Check it out on your bike by yourself... you will get a clear picture of what i m trying to say.... Thanks....
Peace up....To Infinity And Beyond....
