Front/Rear you got replaced under warranty? For the front you can go for PSD, its readily available and many other options I think, Front tyre Duke 200 is 110/70 MRF rite?Mine too. i think mine will last about 2-3 k. I've still not decided which one to go for. I am saitisfied with ContiGo and may go with it again. Even i got mine replaced at 8k on odo under warranty. My current odo reading is about 14.5k and i think this tire will last about 8-10k more. I think my current tyre is of better quality because when i got my first tyre replaced at 8k, it seemed that they would not last much.Last edited by Binoy; 05-04-2012, 06:15 PM.sigpic...Ride Long...Ride Safe...

For those considering, been using 300v after completing 10k kms, Smoother gear shifts, Engine heat is a lot less and to be honest, i dont find it a lot different from Motul 7100.______________________________________

A dealer here told me that PSDs were having problems. The tyre would tear from the centre. Unsure how true this is or probably the guys intends to sell the MRF Zapper Q! Anyone else heard of this?Originally posted by aargee View PostBiru...
1. Go for PSD if you can get 140/70R17; I'm a stock lover, so I don't suggest anything other than stock. When I tried searching for 140/70, I was told PSD doesn't come in that size. But people have been using it, but not sure if its 130/70 or 140/70
Cost not sure.
2. Dunlop is being used by Srivaastav; has a good opinion on it; Cost around 2.9K
3. No idea; one more option left is MRF ZapperQ, which, IMHO, is more suited during rains than dry weather.
I'm using second set of Conti, feel its certainly better
Whenever you settle for one, pls post your review & if possible the dealer from where you bought; this is to update post #8100. Tks
Aargee - When you say the new conti-go is better..in what aspect? I am also inclined to go for the Conti-gos again but unsure.
@Biru - Sirac is only 120/90 (if this is the size u were looking at). Doubt it is going to fit properly on the CBR??
Believe it or not in Mumbai the cost of a PSD is 4800-5200 bucks!!!Last edited by chicmagnet; 05-05-2012, 02:51 AM.

The initial set of Conti's had cut marks, anyway, discard that issue; this set gives a very good confidence on turns. Ask sayhi2sai's opinion also, he too witnessed my ride for quite sometime during last weekend in the borders of KL-KA & even on bad roads.Originally posted by chicmagnet View PostAargee - When you say the new conti-go is better..in what aspect? Keeping all of them aside, what made me to go back to Conti was 2 reasons...
1. Any tire needs an operational temperature to work well; that said Conti is hard compound; this means, the time taken for it to attain optimum temp is longer than a soft compound. HC is well suited on long hauls making it ideal for touring, so on long run, the tire performs well.
2. Life; hard compound gives a more life than a soft compound & stands well against potholed & bad roads than a soft compound; had there been a medium compound tire like Battleax been available, then, that would've been my ultimate choice.
Last but not the least, I too wanted to experiment with PSD; since it wasn't available, I got to go with Conti or Dunlop. In Dunlop, there's marginally less rubber contact area compared to Conti in the center & hence I opted for Conti.
MRF was out of question as the tire pattern is more suited for rain weather.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

So no cut marks on the new ones? Cut marks even I got but the continental guy said it shouldn't be an issue! (showed him images of the cut marks on the tyre)
So does the bike feel more planted on the road on the new set of Conti-Go?
I rode a bike with a PSD at the rear and it felt more planted and cornered easily (due to its round profile).

Yes...but not on short rides; like I don't feel confident (theoretically I don't even take chances) for a distance of upto 10 Kms or so.Originally posted by chicmagnet View PostSo does the bike feel more planted on the road on the new set of Conti-Go?
I haven't, so can't comment much.Originally posted by chicmagnet View PostI rode a bike with a PSD at the rear and it felt more planted and cornered easily (due to its round profile).Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Any one adjusted the pre load of the rear by themselves?there doesn't seem to be any room to do it! :-\Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

Yes; possible; little tricky for the first time though; do it from the left side (gear shift), should be much easier.Originally posted by RanjithMN View PostAny one adjusted the pre load of the rear by themselves?there doesn't seem to be any room to do it! :-\Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle
