Re: Honda CBR 250R
Trail braking as such is used in racing situations where they want to carry the extra speed around the turn, all these add up to a riders advantage depending on the track. Trail braking is done knowing the tarmac is clean, the tarmac is uniform without any undulations from a track perspective. Trail braking without knowing what your next corner is, or what's underneath your tire will definitely lead to a highside or lowside. Trail braking isn't only restricted to tracks, but knowing them where to use, when to use how to use, is the skillset a rider has to adapt. Your tire, be it Michelins used by Marc or Rossi can't hold their line, if you grab a handful braking late apex and you have gravel underneath. As they say, it's the rider that crashes, not the motorcycle.Originally posted by leech View PostHas anybody used trail braking on their CBR 250? Please let me know your experiences, and also the brand of rear tyre.
Cheers!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hmm, thanks for that info, but what I've read about it was that you should lightly press the rear brakes before the turn, and continue to press them for the duration of the turn. Thus you have an increased contact patch on the ground, it aids in grip.
Grabbing brake on the apex of the turn is foolhardy, that's a given. But trail braking is different.

Being a Rossi fan.... Rossi never uses rear brakes during the start of trail braking, he usually takes off his foot from the rear brake pedal and applies full force on front and leans and gradually throttles up. That's how he hit the apex as far as I learnt from TV.
Some riders uses rear brakes to reduce speed along with front and leans in with the less throttle.Apache RTR 180 (The Valentine) 2012 - 2016

Yes, sometimes during multiple corners, they apply the front so hard, the rear wheel comes off the ground, the they start the corner on one wheel!
It's fun to learn about performance biking, if I'd picked a bullet 500, I sure wouldn't take an interest in it. Going in a straight line even a dog can do, according to videos on FB. [emoji6]

leech. I don't do any cornering. I only rip my bike when I see the place is good to go and if I can handle my bike. Its just that the tires are slippery, not like the way you think, being sand or cement on the road, but it actually feels as if I'll just fall down any moment.Originally posted by leech View Posts1d is correct, even the most stickiest tyre still skids on sand during a corner. Best thing for the tyres and your health is to avoid cornering on public roads. Rip the bike on the clear straight, slow down well before the corner, to take it at an upright angle.
I've encountered sand during corners twice, and had the rear slide out both times. Since the lean angle was less, I didn't lose control rather I rode out the slide without braking.
S1d, you are right about what you said. I've been improving my riding every day, but trust me, the day you ride my bike you'd understand what I am trying to say here. No offence brother.Originally posted by s1d View PostWith the likes of Rossi being unhappy with the tires on the motogp circuit, I think you shouldn't be worried about it much in your case. On dust/sand any tire will slip, even the tires on Rossi's bike or the D390's metz. It's up-to you to ride carefully in such situations.. don't expect miracles in a tire change in such conditions.
Improve your riding style, dont stomp on the brakes on dusty/sandy surfaces especially cement roads.. slow down and use the rear brake more in such cases.
The tires provided on our vehicles are designed to work reasonably well across a wide range of roads, so unless you want something for a specific purpose.. you are left with no choice but some compromises.

Thanks !! will checkout the videos.Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View PostI have ordered the GitUp Git2 Pro packaging. Found the video color to be slightly better than sj6 in the comparison video. Git2 is capable of recording 2k. I think it's completely worth the money. It should be somewhere around 15k in India. I've ordered it from their website. Cost me $149 including the external mic. Waiting for the cam now.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
It's very important to change oil filter along with oil on the first service. I would going for a different SVC if they don't cooperate. My suggestion would be to change SVC immediately since I am not hopeful these guys will change the oil filter and only charge you for it since you insist on changing it.Originally posted by pinkesh2703 View PostGave my CBR 250 for the first service.
Asked to change the oil filter but was told that it's not need to change.
Is this ok ?
Please show and ask them to follow the manual

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Though owners manual sometimes include the oil level to be filled with oil filter replaced and or without the old oil filter. As an owner, it's always a wise decision to change the oil filter along with each and every oil change. After all, a clean oil is what keeps the oil in good state and helps lubricate the engine better.Originally posted by pinkesh2703 View PostGave my CBR 250 for the first service.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
What would be the speed and rpm limit under running in period..?
I usually shift around 5.5 - 6k rpm
And will be cruising around 70-80
Is this okay?
Or do I need to slow down myself for better mileage and life
Currently I got 31kmpl
I filled my tank with 500rs when it was just started to blink
Again I checked it when it is starting to blink

Re: Honda CBR 250R
The way you are doing is absolutely okay. Make sure you vary the engine RPM, low medium, mid and high RPM, and yes 5.5 to 6k is a the right RPM you can extend it to 7 k with no worries. And the mileage you are getting is very good. Just keep her steady and nothing to worry.Originally posted by instarider View PostWhat would be the speed and rpm limit under running in period..?
