Travelled from Bangalore to Ahmedabad on my cbee 250, I had serviced my bike at Bangalore unfortunately bike is making sounds.

The sound is similar to a worn out timer chain. ( I know this because I had replaced the same about 7k KM's back with tensioner along with 2 worn shims back at Bangalore at dhruvdesh Honda)

Concern: I am aware of Honda reliability and very happy about it but the same issue occuring within 10k KM's is something alarming.

Now that I have traveled to Ahmedabad I tried leaving the bike at Apex Honda Maninagar Ahmedabad to get it fixed but the tech guy says that he tried to replace the tensioner and the sound did not reduce so he needs to open the engine to look if anything is wrong with tappets. ( Not sure is tappet exists because of shims) and it would take 15days to close the job card.
This made me a little cautious and asked the mechanic to cancel the job card.

Please guide me to someone who can help me out here and get things fixed at a professional level. Below are few more details.

    Model: CBR 250R STD (2014)
    Odo reading: 60k
Driving mode: cruise at 110 to 120 kmph
All services done timely at ASC, No Major issues with engine yet.
Sounds/noise: tick tick (clock ticking sound near the engine)
    Knowledge on mechanical parts: Moderate
    Mileage: 30kmpl
Last oil replaced: 1800kms back at ASC Bangalore

    Questions:
    1) Where can I get my bike fixed? A knowledgeable guy at Honda possibly.
    2) What are the side effects if I do keep riding the same and get the problem fixed back at Bangalore?
    3) Can I claim any kind of warranty at Ahmedabad if it's the issue was fixed earlier at Bangalore?
    4) Has anyone here made similar fixes at ASC and if feedback can be shared?

Waiting for valuable assistance, thanks in advance.
Well I had my tensioner replaced under warranty at the same interval that is at 4k kms. Now my odo stands at 12k kms and the cct started making sounds again! Currently I am in my native and svc here doesn't have any cbr mechs! What I did was I took off the cct, retracted the shaft a few times using the screw inside the cct and put it back again and voila! Ticking noise is gone now. I think the problem with these ccts is they don't push the tensioner completely when the timing chain gets loose and that causes the sound. Again this is only my take on it I'm not sure about it! But my bike is fixed for now

Try Yamaha service center as well they might be having the stock as the same is used in R15's

Perfect.. This is ideally what one should do first before dismantling and replacing parts. The tensioner was probably not applying enough tension on the chain.

                Guys
Today was the first time i noticed temprature more than 3bars on my bike. This happened in traffic where i ride daily. I haven't seen it more than 3 bars even in worst taffics jams. But today i was seeing 4-5 bars even at 30-40kph.
Fan was constantly on. Even when i turned on the ignition after letting it cool down for 20 mins.
Coolant and oil is at optimum level.

What might be the problem? I had posted coolant leakage problem from thermostat cover a few weeks back. Still waiting for parts to arrive. What might be the problem? Faulty thermostat? Temp sensor?
There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

I will try to get it from Yamaha SVC.

Open radiator cap to check coolant level - seems low to me. If yes, fill it.

Yes, this could be the reason.
Don't trust on coolant level in coolant reservoir.
In your case, due to leakage radiator not able to pull coolant from reservoir when bike cools down.

coolant reservoir is showing coolant at optimum level. didn't check it from the radiator cap. Can i use any coolant? or is there a specific kind of coolant for cbr250r? sorry for my ignorance.

As per my speculation, your bike must have factory refilled Honda Radiator Liquid (coolant). In such case if you are topping it up, use the same brand. Never mix coolants of two different brands until you are sure what they are composed of.

Get a bottle of Honda Coolant, costs 250 Rs. only. If not available, just top up with distilled water and you are ready to go.

Honda Radiator liquid is premixed one (50:50), blue in color. Though it says to avoid any further dilution, but in my opinion there is no problem till there is 33% of coolant and 67% of distilled water. Actually it's far better for summer here in India.

Hi. Yes. It is smooth and noise free as of now. No more tik tik tak tak sound [emoji14] (not sure how I would describe the sound as). But then its just a day passed now. Let's hope this issue doesnt come back any sooner.

Thanks a lot man for detailed info. I'm getting used to sitting posture now and brake lever as well. The power on this bike is more than enough for me. I'm loving every km of riding it.

As for fins I have almost 60% of bent fins so gonna take it to svc for detailed inspection. Can you or anyone suggest good service centre in Delhi or noida?
