There are a ton of options out there now, and today's buyer has a bigger plate to eat from! But i still feel the baby ceeber ticks all the boxes as an entry level tourer. A post of thanks to this thread in particular, that enlightened me and helped me understand the bike better. Kudos to you all!

2011. I rescued him from an owner who kept comparing him to an R15. Rescued him at 6K kms on the odo

Awesome! I have the same 2011 Silver ABS too.

Guys, i just topped off the engine oil and it took in a good 200-250ml. it's been 2700km since the last oil change. Is this normal? I never had to top off so much oil for any of my bikes even D200.

Actually I was about to ask the same question. It's strange that oil level is constantly dropping for the last 3000kms since oil change. Say 150-250ml every 1000kms or 100-150ml every 500kms.What could be the reasons? I checked for oil leak but No oil leak any where. Please give some pointers.

Btb she is almost to hit 80k on the odo.

Are you using Honda Throttle oil (used by Service centres)?

I've found oil level dropping after a month or so of riding with the Throttle oil. Now I drain it after about 1000 or so kms and replace it with Shell.
That lasts for about 4000 kms more.

Have done only 3.7k kms since i bought the bike. It's currently at 16.7k kms. There is a slight oil leak for the head but that cant be the reason since it looks more like a residue. Am guessing this is quiet normal, but just wanted to make sure.

Am using Xado 10W40 FS(http://xado.co.in/product_details.php?product_id=64). I hardly cross 7k rpm and most of the KMS are done inside the city. Over kms on the highway so far has been around 1k kms. I would have probably ridden it hard for about 100-200kms over all till now.

That doesn't seem normal if you are mostly a sane rider. Now that you have topped it up, keep an eye on it over the next couple 1000km.
Check the oil after riding the bike or idling it for a minute, then shut off bike and wait for 30 seconds then check oil with the bike upright on flat surface(not on any stand)
Next oil change try and use the shell ax7 or ultra 10w40.

Again, this is not normal oil consumption.. but again at the odo reading you mention, it might be the normal wear (valve seals, bore/piston/rings) that is causing oil consumption.

Oh, both the times i've checked the oil level while on paddock. I'll check again this evening without stand.

Can someone shed some light on how to change pilot lamps on the ceeber? Do we need to remove the entire fairing?

Nope, you can pull out the lamp connectors from inside the fairing. Just insert your hands inside, just behind the lamps and you could wiggle and pull the connectors, you can change the bulbs and replace then.

check oil when the bike is on both tyres and not paddock. sit on bike and ask someone to check else take a photo.

rotate the handle to same side where you want to pull the bulb out. you'd find the rubber hose. rotate anti clock wise and pull out straight.

as others pointed out, turn anticlockwise and remove the connector+bulb , then replace with bulb of your choice and screw it back in.

Got it! ordered those pilot lamps from dx.com, that you have . Will be fitting it tomorrow first thing in the morning! Any specific caution to be taken care while replacing? Like matching terminals of the bulb or something?

led's are + /- specific so if the bulb does not light up rotate and install . it should work.
