Thanks bro...will get it done tomorrow. Have tried keeping the brakes tied overnight to get rid of any air bubbles - yet to see if that helped.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View PostBiking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. well my freinds std cbr was on stock pads kill 15k km..while mine had to be changed at 2700 km..there was no repeatative hard brakin or stunts or any riding anomally(like slight constant press on lever) which can cause pads to wear out faster the svc changed the pads with worn out one's i guess when i was out for a smoke ..because this happened within a week after i checked pads and it was pretty thick and after the visit to svc within 2 3 days i found pads are gone.. svc ppl were not ready to agree that they stole the pads after arguement they just spared me of the pad change charge (arround 80 rs)..honda svcs in kolkata are stealing bigtime ..we always have to be there with our bikes hereOriginally posted by theironhorse99 View Posta few pointers...
1. STD brakes will last 6k-7k ( both )
2 ABS BRAKE pads will last 13k-15k (both )
..
.. another friend faced burned clutch plates twice within 7k kms of riding and he is riding for 9 yrs i assume there was no issue with his riding the last time when he argued with svc they took out clutch plates from a cbr which came for pdi and fixed it..and said that whenever the new bike owner comes to them with clutch issue they will give him warranty..in koklata all of the cbr owners are suffering more or less..

my first set of pads ran for 6500 km and my second pad are also showing similar life.. i am on 13k on odo and they are due replacement.. svc people and other folks confirmed.. 6k is normal life for brk pad.Originally posted by BAMBI143 View Postwell my freinds std cbr was on stock pads kill 15k km..while mine had to be changed at 2700 km..there was no repeatative hard brakin or stunts or any riding anomally(like slight constant press on lever) which can cause pads to wear out faster the svc changed the pads with worn out one's i guess when i was out for a smoke ..because this happened within a week after i checked pads and it was pretty thick and after the visit to svc within 2 3 days i found pads are gone.. svc ppl were not ready to agree that they stole the pads after arguement they just spared me of the pad change charge (arround 80 rs)..honda svcs in kolkata are stealing bigtime ..we always have to be there with our bikes here

and yes i am intrested for steel braided lines .. set
and the larger petal disk... HOWEVER ALSO CONFIRM if he will give the metal connector as well...
As the larger disk will need the disk assembly to be placed farther from the forks.. a metal mount will be
needed and it gets difficult to source one or get one made to precision..."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

Brakelights are supposed to glow only when the brakes are applied - front or back. Taillight does comes on even when you switch on the pilots only.Originally posted by Nithesh View Postthe brakelight works only when lever is pulled in but is otherrwise off when the headlight is on!
Me too getting greedyOriginally posted by BAMBI143 View PostWell well im greedy now 5300 for both lines that's also from hel..nice proposition
but need to save first.
Really??? Are you aware of the price Joel is giving it for? What is the advantage of petal discs over the normal discs...I have a std version.Originally posted by TeeJayy View PostJoel sells steel braided lines for the CBR as a set for much cheaper, not sure if its the same brand.
He also sells petal discs for the CBR now.
I might also add in....depending upon the funds available with me during the time you order.Originally posted by Pruthviraj View PostIf you are going for these lines then wait for few days I am also interested,we could alway ask our CBR pals if anyone is interested & negotiate a better deal for all.
Mee tooooo.....Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostI don't mind going in for Joel's petal discs and steel lines

Yeah, anything other than petal discs and steel braided lines, I believe visiting Bangalore is better option. One of freind got 4 blocks from Joel for his R15 after each failed. I guess the best is option is to get the engine worked on by Joel himself. There are adjustments to be made which difficut for other mechs.Originally posted by BAMBI143 View Postim more interested in suspension and brake related mods ..i hardly use rear brake so only front petal will do ..and i don't think suspension tweaking is possible without visiting him..Last edited by Sid85; 04-12-2013, 07:14 PM.Siddhartha

The petal shape helps in cooling the discs faster by trapping and passing air through the caliper slots.Originally posted by Sid85 View PostWhat is the advantage of petal discs over the normal discs...I have a std version.
And not to forget - the drool factor!

i always changed mine on after every 5000kms on first service(4878kms) and then on second service (9400kms). it can last long 6500 but i always change because generally i ride on highways and feel after 4.5k it gets softer.mine is std and costs only 900(approx)(one side)Originally posted by Pruthviraj View PostMy std`s front & rear pads R going strong even after 9.8k & a friends abs rears gave up in 8k so no set pattern,it is upto the riding style.
when you guys changed shims. i did after 10k (mine is 2011 lot bike bought and registered on 8th January 2012)
