Re: Honda CBR 250R
AFAIK Shell Advance 10w40 ultra is the best engine oil available(as per reviews and self experience though). Switching from Honda Throttle 10w30, the changes are very-very visible. Engine became silent, gears became butter smooth and acceleration became smoother(comparatively). From amazon.in its even 50/- Rs cheaper than Throttle 10w40 FS. I have never used motuls in my ride so cant comment about the same.Originally posted by pushu097 View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I poured Motul 5100 10w30 yesterday only - for first time. Earlier was on Shell advance Ultra. Throttle 10w30 is good oil. Shell advance ultra 10w40 and Motul 7100 10w40 are equally good.Originally posted by pushu097 View PostAny suggestion for 10w30. I found motul 5100 10w30 online but i guess it is semi-synthetic. Would also like to know about the drain interval of 5100.
Thank You.
I have rode about 20km till now after pouring in Motul 5100 10w30, feels better than any 10w40. I have personally experienced that my bike runs better on 10w30 than any 10w40. Other's opinion may differ.
I shall be able to tell more about Motul5100 10w30 after few days of ride. I hope it would last for at least 3k km. If results are good, I will stick to it.-----

Re: Honda CBR 250R
You're right. 5100 is technsynthese, semi synthetic, and Shell AX7 being semi synthetic, I don't find any difference between both. Though I've used the 7100 and Shelll extensively on my CBR. 5100 was used on another bike for as long as I can remember. When comparing apples-to-oranges, 5100 and 3100 are best budget level semi synthetic oils and I've used them both. You see, engine oils and performance observations/expectations vary from person to person. Motul, bei it semi synthetic and full synthetic except 300V are all good deals.Originally posted by pushu097 View PostAny suggestion for 10w30. I'd suggest go for 5100 or if you can extend, go for 7100

Re: CBR 250R ABS Wobbling Issue
Welcome to the forum,Originally posted by Sundar_karthik View PostHi
I am new this forum so I am not sure this is the right place u to ask this question .
I recently bought CBR 250R ABS and between 4500 RPM and 5500 RPM I feel handlebar shaking( i tried with both hands off the handle bar in a road with no traffic) beyond that RPM wobbling stops but I still feel vibration.
I took it to the service center in Chennai and they told me it's because of the tyres and the changed the front tyre but still wobbling was there so now they changed the back tyre as well but issue still exist
Now they are again going to replace the front tyre and the Mechanic showed me with a new tyre ( but it reduces the problem but wobbling was there still)
Please help if any one has the same issue and if so let me know how you resolved it
For the issue you are facing, there can be many reason behind it. And i guess many owners here are facing this issue including me.
So if you happen to resolve this issue, share the details here so that others can be benefited. Also you can try wheel balancing which I have been thinking to do for a very long time.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Read a news about a couple of units of CBR 300R being imported to India sometime around November. With the current CBR 250R being removed from the HMSI website lets hope that we see Honda bring in the more powerful CBR with BS4 engines soon. Its been 5 years since I have been using the CBR 250 and am starting to look for an upgrade just for the sake of a change. The bike still feels like new though

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Any specific reason to avoid 300V? Been using it for the past 8k kms. So far so good!Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View Post7100 is a very much suitable and liked by the CBR. I've used both the Shell AX7 Ultra and 7100. I've personally haven't experienced anything drastic between the both the 7100 and AX7 Ultra. I started using the 7100 due to non-availability of the AX7 my hometown. Would very much recommend 7100. Just as a note, don't go for 300V..

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Definitely, yes, Satish. First off, it's the cost, the 300V is purely an overkill for the machines we ride. The oil has a good tendency to thin over time and in fact vaporize, given worse circumstances. Thirdly, the engine smoothness delivered from the 300V wasn't ever liked by me nor the machines; the only reason I had to use them was I already staked a crate of them from a dealer. And in fact, I used them just to lube door hinges, used as chain lube as I had so much left overs, back then.Originally posted by onlinesatish View PostAny specific reason to avoid 300V? My experience with 3100 to 7100 has been nothing short of praiseworthy. The 5100 that did duty on my 220 for 30k plus was truly an all rounder. There was an instance where I drained 300V in less than 2k in my 220 purely because of the engine harshness and the valve train noise, and never looked back since then it's always been the 5100 for the 220. I've also used 3000T Gold and 3100 SS in my Victor GLX, I'd say close to 15k of the total 58k it ran, which produced a sweet whine during engine braking (which wasn't even present when I bought the bike new) which I've personally never experienced with any oils, including, Shell and Agip.
So, to sum it up, if you want to save your money and extract the best, go for 7100 and 5100. If you want a pure one drain interval oil for racedays, trackdays and what not, go for 300V. The 300V in my personal opinion is just a "snake oil" for Indian street/climatic conditions. Just doesn't tick it.
Cheers!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thanks VJ! Have been thinking of going back to Honda oil since my usage has come down drastically. Been close to 3 months since last service and i have hardly covered 1000kms. Will shift back to Honda Oil or get 7100 for the next refill!Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostDefinitely, yes, Satish. Re: CBR 250R ABS Wobbling Issue
Can you share the details of showroom where they are doing this wheel balancing, as far as I remember they are saying that wheels are balanced when they are fitted in the assembly line and reach the showroom. And I found no ASC have the facility to do the same. If there are doing this I would love to get it done from them.Originally posted by Sundar_karthik View PostASC said they already did wheel balancing and checked the fork and coneset
