Can any one tell me the life of brake pads for ABS version?
Brake pads, chain all wear according to the individual. Giving a rough estimate, Nissin ABS pads have a really solid life, of close to 10k plus. Discretion advised
I've been facing a wobble while accelerating in a corner, also the bike bounces more on bad roads this week. I'll be taking the bike to the SVC tomorrow, what should I get checked other than -
- factory Coneset at 34.5k kms
- factory Chain at 34.5k kms
- suspension bolts
- tyres
- axle bolts.
I also have vibrations at left footpegs, which I attribute to chain and sprockets nearing end of life.
Is there anything else I need to get checked?
Yes, you did miss a couple of handy items. Check your rockets, boosters and and landing gear. Should be fine (pun intended)
Guyz, what should be the ideal value of well maintained April'13 CBR 250? Have done 10k kms only.
1.4 to 1.5 would be a good ballpark, considering the bike is genuinely run 10k.

Hi All,
Did anyone found anyway jugaad/workaround for removing scratches ?

What Krishna mentioned, a good liquid polish can do the job well. But it's the buffing of the polish is where the real deal is. Make sure you dab a drop or two over a soft microfiber cloth and run around in circles till you get the finish. Notice, use them on glossy surfaces, not matte plastic where sometimes hard wax can cause white blotches, which are equally PITA to remove.
Best of luck.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

If its minor scratches or just swirls and all, then waxing is a very easy way to maintain the bike spotless.

Deep scratches or big scuffs cannot be removed using wax or any amount of buffing, it will still stick out like a sore thumb, best and cheap method is to get it touched up by a good painter, they can get the color mix right and patch it up close to factory finish, or the only other option is new panels and tank, which for sure is a very expensive route to take.

Side panel's are around 2100 or so, shouldn't be more than 2.5k per side.
Tank I would suggest, stickering over them or getting it painted. Stickering is straight forward.
Painting requires you to remove and tank and provide it to the painter, bit costly affair.

definitely needs a paint touch up and polish (maybe even some filler if the scratch is deep). take it to a car painter/tinker garage and get it fixed up. they can do it without removing the tank
ideally get a clear coat applied too.
Should cost you around 1500 including clear coat.

I booked the 2017 Repsol edition with ABS.
They told me to wait 60day..
Also they did not say anything out the numbers.. :\
I think i need to visit the dealers once again..
Did they say that they will stick the number as per user prefference?
yes waiting period is 2 months, these number stickers will come later as a package only few sales representative knows about it and it is mentioned in the online brochure.
But instead, I was also considering to buy RE 500, either TB or Bullet. Can you guys please explain what all issues you had faced with your RE's?
and Im also considering CBR, Dominar, FZ250 & but not mojo because Mahindra have spares/service support only in metro cities.
Thanks!
If you are the rider, who always rides between 80 to 100 kmph. then you can consider RE 500.
During the Long rides you have to take frequent stops to avoid the over heating of the engine. ( may be go max 200kms in one stretch you have to stop after this for half an hour or so).
in one of my ride did 900kms ride in a day, i use to maintain 110-120kmph, even with the frequent stops the valves are burnt off, creating a huge noise in the engine in the next day.
Engine initial smoothness and pickup is completely gone
500cc bike wont capable of cursing @ 120. Due to more long rides Piston rings will go bad soon. ( use to do 600 kms ride( for 2 days) in a month )
Clutch cable , due to hard clutching system you have to replace more frequently. and Clutch friction plates.
in a span of 3 yrs, Eventhough I had maintained really well, but I had replaced everything( including piston and cylinder set, its rings- as it was drinking more engine oil),
Even after replacing real internal charm of engine is gone( it was struggling to reach 110 ) and feels other 150 cc ( like Fz) bikes more responsive.
In the last yest it was almost in the Service centre.
Once Primary chain also got broken in the middle of office commute, which should never happen to any bikes until if its not maintained dry or riding with out oil.
due to this crank case also got damaged. Replay from the service team, Sir i am seeing this for the first time, looks like some bolt went and struck in the running chain and it got cut.
OMG how come a bolt comes in to picture inside the crack case.
Even after 30k that primary chain looks good and can serve more kms( another 30-40k).
After All this completed 35k n sold it to guy, Who loves to own RE but not a Rider ( i mean he wont go for long rides, just a city commute ).

Sorry for the big story
Mate thanks for detailed explanation. It helped me a lot. It is just horrible to see primary chain ripping apart your engine. Your experience proves that, RE is still way behind in terms of engine design & quality. Wouldn't risk my money with that.
I took a TD of CBR, have to drop it out due to comfort issues, since I am tall & my legs feel cramped
Somehow I feel Dominar still needs few months time to get out of 'beta testing phase' and actually get all its faults taken out from production line.

I'm 6ft 2 owned a non abs 2014 model for 2 and half years almost 30k km no issues at all, its a great tourer, I can ride for hours without an issue, just need a new set of tyres, sort out my seat cushioning and saddle n tank bag will be good.

Dandy, what I would suggest is -- considering your tank has more than skin deep scratches, deep ones, is to repaint the entire tank and apply quality clear coat. If the scratches are skin deep, though polishing them would take some of the surface scratches, but the deep layered scratches would still be remain. Since, it's flood tampered, I would suggest you paint the entire tank, give it good rust coating on the inside (with the pump removed) and a proper clear coat should make her brand new. Just my two cents.
Cheers!

I actually painted entire bike once in 2015 and during flood my brother carried water can on the tank and it got scratched rest of the scratches are because of the morons who slam their bikes into mine in office parking lot. For time being I will stick with stickering maybe when I have time I will get them done.
Guys can anyone share link where i can get Flush mount turn signal?
I find couple of them online but not sure they will fit..
I need something which goes in the stock mount hole and sticks out a little bit.
Not the one which sits on the panel covering the hole..
Tried both in Aliexpress and eBay. no luck..
My bike will be delivered by March, so sourcing for parts now itself :P
Here, in this video, you can see the person installing a flush mount and how to install the flush mount is detailed clearly. Now, does the flush mount really does the job? I personally don't think so. Yes, they make the bike more "fluidic", but ultimately it defeats the purpose of what a turn signal is supposed to do, that is make aware the fellow motorists on the road that you are about to make a move.
The stock, though personally, are very good indicators, they are big, they are very visible and clearly let the guy behind or front what your next move is. Flush mounts, personally, it's an investment that isn't worth it spending on.
Cheers!
