fuel injected engines generally don't use any fuel while engine braking. This is known as DFCO or Deceleration Fuel Cut-Off. Carburetted engines don't have this and do waste some fuel ( presumably through the pilot jet circuit ) even when throttle is fully closed because engine vacuum is still produced during engine braking and it's trying to suck fuel+air mix from carb . So engine braking is even more efficient with fuel injected engines .
This is not my gyan , found it by googling

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine_braking

Personally I felt that once you learn it , engine braking is very useful and addictive . It is one of the good things I found when I moved from 2-stroke to 4-stroke .

So yesterday went out for breakfast ride and also to shoot video of my bike for my youtube channel and some posing shots 😋
Slowly getting hang of the bike and how it performs. The best part is overtaking vehicles is a breeze. Few shots for time being. Will share videos and DSLR shots in few hours.

As in, we accelerate to 40 in third, then release the accelerator, but don't pull the clutch, so that the bike slows down with a whine.

Reason I asked is, I've changed my riding style to utilise engine braking a lot, the past 4 months, and I've noticed increased (+2) mileage. Last trip, I've gotten 402 kms from 10.69L of fuel. Speeds were 60-128 kmph depending on roads.

same here. I was surprised yesterday when I calculated FE with tank full method. I had no clue how the FE increased after previous fill up. Actually I didnt try to practice engine braking but I tried to practice rev-match downshift with throttle blip. and now I think my practice for rev-matching eventually worked as engine braking too. now I have an answer for my doubt

I've been facing a wobble while accelerating in a corner, also the bike bounces more on bad roads this week. I'll be taking the bike to the SVC tomorrow, what should I get checked other than -

- factory Coneset at 34.5k kms
- factory Chain at 34.5k kms
- suspension bolts
- tyres
- axle bolts.

I also have vibrations at left footpegs, which I attribute to chain and sprockets nearing end of life.

Is there anything else I need to get checked?

Hello Guys, I Live in BLR.
I am a silent follower of this thread, after i sold my Thunderbird 500 (due to reliability issues).
I am planning to Upgrade to a New Touring Machine, budget of 2 to 2.5 lack.
So available options are TNT25, Mojo, BMW310 (don't know when they will announce and also Doubt that it wont pe priced under 2.5lac on road) and Cbr250.

TNT25- Had a TD, Fells good and comfortable but maintenance is a joke ( its like similar to Maintaining 650 cbr/Ninjas)

But i am still in dilemma Mojo and CBRR , even though i have booked Repsol CBR(ABS).
today i have seen and TD the 2017 repsol Non Abs variant. Bikes looks superb to me. I am in love with it. (After 2011 ruby red). But Mind says to go far Mojo( may be handling is better)
But my concern is about the build quality of the plastic fairing for the 2L + priced Bike, it feels very cheap. I want to know the will their be any vibrations in the fairing or any parts in the future, will they Last Long?.
Apart from ABS, how Mojo is different from CBR.

Few pics attached of the new CBR repsol.

Exactly in same dilemma, except for last few points, and instead of tnt and mojo i have dominar 400 and d390 in list.
Still ride a tb500 and fed up with its reliability.

Btw are you sure the repsol edition is the new.
There suppose to be 93 or 26 number on the front.

SantoshPg, Mojo better handler than CBR 250? First time I've heard this. Mojo cant corner as good as CBR 250, it's exhausts and footpegs will scrape easily. Mojo has upright seating position, thats helpful for physically unfit people on long tours.

Honda got more SVC than Mahindra too. For me, CBR vs Mojo is a no brainer. The only thing Mojo has is a 500km+ tank range, 10-20 kmph extra cruising speed and better tyres.

PS: is that the 2017 repsol? I liked the earlier one, where the repsol font BG was wavy.

From my point of view ,
Dominar 400, have to wait n watch about the reliability (but not comparable to honda i guess ).
D390- Power might not be suitable for daily office commute of 8-10 kms in bumper to bumper Traffic, and also pillion comfort

Yes it is new Repsol, ha ha those two numbers are New owner oriented. Choose the number you want, then they will stick that no and give it to you.

I really like the repsol and i would prefer 93 [emoji16]

Im in the same boat!

But instead, I was also considering to buy RE 500, either TB or Bullet. Can you guys please explain what all issues you had faced with your RE's?

and Im also considering CBR, Dominar, FZ250 & but not mojo because Mahindra have spares/service support only in metro cities.

Thanks!
