I felt engine roughness right after first service. I have noticed this (engine roughness) difference when I was riding my bike from SVC to home. Next day I went to SVC and reported the problem. Mechanic adjusted chain and said problem resolved, but I had experienced roughness problem up to 3000kms on odo. After that I felt smoothness of engine.Originally posted by aargee View Post

Good to know that it went well and they looked into all the issues.Originally posted by darkknight View PostIt was an awesome experience as a whole with every minute thing well planned by the dealer as well as honda reps
I also took the issue of aargee & sudeep who had PMed me & atleast from spares point of view things are going to change radically in metros & suburbs first & than in other areas
Thanks for letting them know the problems faced by us. Hope the spare parts issue is addressed quick and seriously.Sudeep P Nambiar

This sounds really good-they say the bike hits 160 on the speedo&is very high revving (19.7 PS@10,500 RPM) racetrack oriented. A real competitor/threat to R15.Originally posted by darkknight View Post{important info from them was for next bigger bike probably in a year.
confirmed info was cbr150R by march in the range of 1.2 L in competion to r15}
What about CBR600F-any mention?Last edited by Sarvajit; 10-13-2011, 05:33 PM.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

DK - Tks very much for the update; had you not updated here, I would've posted asking the status
I wanted to know how they arrest the vibes; was there any rubber dampings etc or simply they tightened all the bolts. That still remains unanswered. All others are diplomatic answers
One question to Sarvajit - The 150cc bike touching 160 Kmph is it a fact or your assumption

160 is lil too much for a 150 and even 160 on the CBR250R is very difficult? and i find the model same as CBR250R with only design change in the silencer only so don't think its a racetrack bikeOriginally posted by Sarvajit View PostThis sounds really good-they say the bike hits 160 on the speedo&is very high revving (19.7 PS@10,500 RPM) racetrack oriented. This is bike is more exciting than the 250. I have read a few Thai reviews&they have claimed 160 (not sure whether it is on the speedo or real) I think it should be on the speedo&so does Motoroids.Originally posted by Binoy View Post160 is lil too much for a 150 and even 160 on the CBR250R is very difficult? and i find the model same as CBR250R with only design change in the silencer only so don't think its a racetrack bike

But for a fact, 19.7 PS at 10.5K RPM is very high revving considering the R15 makes 17 PS at 8,500 RPM&hits the rev limiter at 10.5K RPM!
Everyone knows R15 crosses 140 on the speedo (I repeat not real speed), so why can't this 150 hit 160 with 2.7 PS more power?
Please read about the chassis of the bike-it is superior to the 250's as well. That should ensure some good handling on track.
As for the looks, I don't think it looks that good though the tyres are broad.
At 1.2L I guess performance enthusiasts will have 2 options.
Only gripe is if it is detuned for India-it will throw it into the same territory as R15.Last edited by Sarvajit; 10-13-2011, 05:59 PM.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

wow, few days back you was scoulding honda for this product & now you are pleasing them. This is the way a manufacturer should treat their customers. I had ridden your bike few days back. man, my 4.5 year old zma was running better than it. Its good to know now you are fully satisfied with your bike.Originally posted by darkknight View PostThis are detailed events what happened yesterday at vihaan honda thane :

Terrific CRM from Honda. I think I will ride down from Rajkot to get my bike serviced at Vihaan. My ASC - Dharti Autos is ok - friendly, cooperative, patient but I suspect not very professional...Originally posted by darkknight View PostThis are detailed events what happened yesterday at vihaan honda thane :
The following people from honda gurgaon were present:
1)engine incharge - assembly line
2)weld incharge - assembly line
3)overall assembly - assembly line
4)2 service heads for complete bike
5)2 other men (dunno what - but they were with complete 3 page checklists for the cbr)
6)sales - a girl
7)dealership development & marketing - one man
customers present
1)me
2)gaurav
3)arjun
4)aziz
4)abhilabh
All the bikes were from first lot & had an average of 7k on odo with the exception of arjun's bike
dealer plus mechanics plus his service head
events:
1)morning bikes were marked with tag numbers from one to five before their arrival
2)than accordingly a sales interview was arranged with each of the customer.the lady carried an exhaustive feedback sheet of four pages which contained all kinds of details from colors, quality, horn
, blah blah blah --
{important info from them was for next bigger bike probably in a year.
confirmed info was cbr150R by march in the range of 1.2 L in competion to r15}
3)A separate bay for cbr was inaugurated & similar setup is being replicated across all the dealerships now
4)every customer was than personally asked to explain his problem to them alongwith feedback from the dealer's mechanic who was handling tht particular bike
5)a stack of spare parts were brought down by them which had cone sets, disk pads, radiator assembly, mirrors, blinkers, foot pegs, chain sets, shims etc
6)all these things whichever were observed faulty were replaced immediately free of cost
7) my bike had a multitude of problems in the sense that it was screwed up by my local dealership in terms of servicing - so I got coneset replaced, suspension cleaned & re adjusted,no shims required as vibes were mostly due to bolts & other stuff being loose (I have no idea on this as the work was already done by mech in my absence but they now have disappeared),chain was cleaned, adjusted & lubed (a probable replacement in a month as it jumps a bit),a few trial runs by everyone & some minor adjustments finally gave me the bike I had expected it to be in the first place.
8)others got chain set replaced alongwith radiator assembly (because of fan jammed) as well as cone sets replaced
It was an awesome experience as a whole with every minute thing well planned by the dealer as well as honda reps
I also took the issue of aargee & sudeep who had PMed me & atleast from spares point of view things are going to change radically in metros & suburbs first & than in other areas
They will be at one of the dealerships in pune so anyone can get in touch if required.
I also complained about my dealer & the pathetic response he gives but am least confident anything can be done in that matter since he's a political bigwig
Anyone in mumbai or thane or navi mumbai, please book your bike from vihaan if not already done else get it there for service & experience what customer delight is all about
Thanks for the detailed reports, DK

Maneesh

Thanks for the heads up, altough i own a RX myself, din get this idea. Will mod mine also..Originally posted by sumantg View PostI have posted picture earlier. I have used Yamaha RX100 mud falp (2 nos ). I have put two holes to mud guard and fixed mud flap.
I bought 2 mud flap because i want to increase the length of mud flap so that mud will not splash on radiator and engine (to some extent).
It covers my radiator 100% and engine 50% from mud splashing from tyre.

Chennai VS Bangalore ASC's
Hi All,
I have read a lot of praise about a Chennai ASC (Didar motors i guess) and was wondering if i should ride to chennai on this weekend to get my bike serviced there. I got the bike from Haiku Honda, bangalore but when it comes to CBR they know nothing. They even dont know how to properly clean a chain.
The current oddo reading is close to 3K and due to engine roughness was planning to go for an early oil change.
There is a slight rattle noise from fairing.
The bike still vibrates between 4-5K RPM and last time haiku people were not able to fix it.
So from banglore and chennai please advise.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Piyush

As planned I did my Oil and filter change today and agreed with the SVC for no oil change on my 3rd service. Switched to FS Castrol Power 1 10W50. The results are amazing and few of the observations till now given below. And I would not hesitate to suggest this for any other CBR owner.
1) Rolled on from speed below 10kmph to 40 in the 3rd gear with a very little help of the clutch, meaning usual stalling at slow speed has reduced much.
2) Not evident difference in behaviour btw 3K&4K rpm.
3) Much noticeable difference after 4K I mean it. I felt like additional 20CC has been added to the engine
.
4) Sharp notes at higher rpms (7K<rpm)has vanished
5) Last but not least as expected anyone could easily feel the difference in smoothness.
Not yet ripped and redlined. I am excited that I am going to tear down the track with the great upgrade
this weekend.
