  • On the topic of nissin break pads, do the ones that fit on the ZMR also fit the CBR? I remember reading in the ZMR posts about nissin break pads being used, front and back, so if anyone have any info if they can be a direct fit, then it should be helpful for CBR ABS owners
PS: I have no idea if they will be a direct fit, I just know the 'brand' used is the same :P

Are you sure Sai? Last time I spoke with HMSI engineer regarding Sudeep's query, he was confident that irrespective of STD or ABS, the brake pads are the same. If they're different, pls enlighten me (asking seriously) as in what way they're different?

              • Only for the standard rear brakes we can use 220's brake pads. For the ABS there are no alternatives as of now. (tried and tested I mean)

One of the tech guy at the A.S.S here in Hyderabad says the ABS pads are wider compared to the standard ones. So they wont fit. We tried installing the standard's rear pads from one of the display bikes on my ABS rear unit and they did not fit. The caliper wont go in place after replacing the pads.

And I've got an idea now, How about reusing Sudeep's idea of bookings spreadsheet for the availability of spares? Makes our life easier? Doesnt it?

Oil filters are available in hyderabad at pratul honda, Somjiguda.

And do what? HMSI has instructed ASC to stop counter sales.

                    • ^^^ Ok; I'll get a full stop for this!!! I'm visiting ASC tomorrow & will get a confirmed answer which BYBRE disc pads are direct fit for C250R.

BTW, going for 3rd service tomorrow; major works involves changing sprocks + chain, changing to 10W30 FS (FS & FS) costs about 1K.

                        • Worst pre-sales experience

I booked my Honda CBR 250R some 20 days ago with a promised delivery within 15 days.

After I gave them a call a week back regarding the status of the Motorcycle, I am told that - Silver won't be home and so you have a choice of either black or red. (which was in stock)

I was taken aback as, as per norms, I should have been informed when these happenings took place, but I was informed when I called (the owner in this case) up.

I requested them to get whatever color they can, but insisted on a fresh piece. Though the silver is in transit as requested. I was called & informed about this on Tuesday i.e. on 11th October.

I was promised a delivery tomorrow & I called them today & learnt that the bike is yet to reach the sales outlet. I am at total loss of words now.

Have shot two notes to the Honda website in their 'Contact Us' link & they are yet to contact me. No mails/sms or call and yes, no acknowledgement too.

Any mail address which would help in this mess? Thanks

                          • I've only changed my rear disk pads with P220's rear disk pads which is of the same make. I've no idea about the front one. Also I never mentioned that these are fit for ABS models as well. ABS ones come with Nissin brake and it should be a different one.
I can only confirm that the rear disk pads from new P220 are a direct fit for Std CBR 250R's rear disk brake.

In other news, Got a call an hour back from a guy from Honda regional office. He was asking about the complaint that I raised for the non availability of spares (cone-set) for my bike. He informed me that they had dispatched it on 22nd of last month! So that means its been more than 20 days that they had dispatched it. But I had inquired 2 days back with Sapphire Honda and they didn't have any idea about. Gotta call them tomorrow and check again. But I'm happy hearing that they had dispatched it. I just hope it has arrived or arrives ASAP.

I have got my answer partially, though I know that the recommendation by HMSI is 10W30 but does anybody got better result in terms of engine smoothness from using some other rating oil.
