    Hi,

This is perfectly normal and happens in my bike too (rarely).

FYI - Unless the underneath of the engine is not clean, this is a clear symptom of some issue cropping up. Its not normal!!!

      • A week with the C250R

After a week of owning the C250R here are someof the observations
        1. I switched to Shell super which makes the combustion process in line with the plug spark and the engine note is really good now than ordinary petrol
        2. Changed my driving style and gear changes as per aargee's inputs. The drive is much more relaxed now.
        3. I had some wrist pain for first 2 days, may be because I held the handles tight. Now I just leave the vehicle to carry me and direct it. The pain is gone now

I have some queries. I get multiple answers for these queries in this thread. Posting them again.

How to get extended warranty? I check with dealer when buying and he said nothing is there for C250R. Is this true? I can see inthis thread some people buying extended warranty for INR 1.2K. It would be better if chennaites can throw in some light specifically people bought from Manasarovar if possible.

The bike is recommended 1st service at 1000 kms. Is there any deviation to this based on experience. I can see a lot of ideas (premature oil change, 1st service at 550-750, etc) on this thread. May be someone who can consolidate how to maintain this bike for my first month.

Please suggest me the best ASC for C250R. I got some specific (***) inputs about Kun and Manasarovar on this thread.
Leave way and then accelarate ... then overtake ....

Use Speed 97 from BPCL, that's the only fuel with which you can observe the difference. All others make not much noteable difference as the RON levels are the same.

Posted multiple times here; anyway, your dealer's are lying to core. Manasarovar is a pure nonsense dealer & they're biggest liars right from security to SA & I've personally experienced about a month back!!! For details on warranty, all I'd say is...search search & search this thread.

This is also discussed multiple times right from Motoman to Owner's manual & a combination of in between. Did you go through owner's manual? If so, pls post the relevant section per HMSI & we'll take it from there. Too tired to discuss things that has been discussed to core several times!!!

          • highway run in.

            hey guys...
took my lady(bike) for a spin on the NH from porur bypass all the way upto chettinad university...the road was gud and i was able to take her upto 120kms for a few secs and then maintained 85-90 kms,no quick throttle stuff, folks she handles well at higth speeds as though she belongs there...the breaks were gr8,the wheels even better coz i rode the bike in the rain as well as in the sun no grip issues.and i must say i am getting used to her now.i havnt chkd the mileage nyways i m going to didar on wed to get my chain lubed.

And folks for those of u who want to clean the radiator your self and having dirt in the fins etc ,i have a solution, i do it for mine. Its time consuming but effective in its own way....
@RG is it okay to open her up to 120kms whn shes so new!!...

Screw your courage to the sticking place.

Yes, but... don't do it quite often until you change the engine oil atleast once (and inorder to do that, don't keep ripping or go for an early oil change unnecessarily)

Its more important on how you get to 120 & bring it down from 120; NEVER apply brakes to bring down from 120 or accelerate SOON (forget quick) to get there. Do it somewhere in the Chennai Byepass during off peak hours where the traffic is less & you seldom have to apply brakes.

                • HMSI does it again!!!

Let me keep things short with the email I sent to HMSI customer care (modified to protect privacy content) on 3-Oct even after the regional HMSI engineer is following up

So when I shot this email I was already waiting for over 2 weeks & now...its a month!!! The ridiculous part is that, HMSI has shipped the rear sprocket & chain last weekend, but they haven't shipped the front sprocket. Today, if I go to buy a chain/sprocket set for my Rx, I get as one whole kit including, 2 sprockets, chain including the tounged washer. I don't know how HMSI can ship parts individually. The worst thing is that, I also need the rubber damper on the swing arm & they haven't shipped it.

The most funniest part is that...HMSI has about 15-18 C250R participating in Honda One racing at MMSC with every necessary spares, but, they only don't have spares for their customers!!!

I was almost determined to file a consumer court case if my bike wasn't ready by 19th to join the road trip & with the present conditions, I don't expect even a miracle to occur to make it. What do you guys suggest? Should I opt for consumer case?

                  • Pricing Difference!!!

                    Hi,

i would be taking CBR 250r very soon(mostly by diwali), but the problem is when i had taken the costing from thane it is 1.65 for standard and 1.95 for ABS,i would be going for standard but when i had enquired the same in Mumbai it was 1.66 for standard in HONDA pilot. the reason he said me was extended warranty.

                    is it a compulsion???

hey argee.....dont mind but i think the new Chain and Rear sporket + old front sportket should do just fine i mean why wasting your time just fix your chain and new rear sporket with old Front one ...i Changed my old RTR's chain sproket kit and even after 24k kms the front sporket was fine . so just check it your self if the Front sporket is fine then just go ahead with whatever HMSI has shipped to you . And a Consumer complaint wont do much help to u as even in front of Cour HMSI will give same reasons and it will delay you parts order also coz once u file case then HMSI / You have to wait for Courts Order.....Do it only if you are facing major issues and HMSI is not giving any attention to you ( as customer) .
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

I rode all way from Jaipur to Mumbai without even lubricating + Mumbai to Chennai without adjusting the chain (consider Jaipur to Chennai without adjusting the chain). So the question on bad quality of parts is ruled out; I'm fully inline to change the sprocks as I WANTED to reach each day's destination during the day light & didn't want to spend time adjusting.

@abhiwar - I'm aware of that, but I don't like compromised, but perfect work

when bike requires a chain sprocket at 9-10 k interval -- bad
disc pads going kaput in 6k kms - bad
cone sets gone in 5-6 k (acceptable mistake since they are replcing FOC)
                            rusting bolts - bad
dunno what else but the upcoming trip will throw some new ones for sure

New bikes are supposed to have better long lasting consumables as compared to spares available

case in point My r15 had first change of chain sprocket at 27 k -than every 15-18k intervals therafter -brake pads at 14k- cone set at 60 k & clutch plates at 65 k

can you shed some light on

                              1. what rpm ranges I shall be following to shift up and down? during running.

                              2. What rpm range shall I cruise at during different phase of run in.?

                              3. Any other tips for someone who is coming from a lower end tourer?

I have read through the pages but I could not find specifics of what I want to know.

Before you go for the case, please make clear the point of their obligation to provide you with spares in a certain time period. As in, is there a certain time period by which an automobile company should provide spares to its customer, according to the consumer forum??

Anyway try NOT to sudden accelerate/decelerate, redline and ride at a constant RPM for long. You'd do well otherwise.
