  • After a wait of more than 3 months, the cone set for my bike has finally arrived!
Will be going tomorrow to get it fixed.

    • im more concerned about lugging the engine than screwing it with high rpm

thus asked for rpm ranges for shifting up n down.

currently I shift up at 4-4.5k rpm and shift down at 2-2.5k rpm on HHHunk.

Again, given that you have gone through the thread, I thought you know that already. Anything below 3k and the engine audibly puts out signs of lugging.

          is it a compulsion???

Virendra, go to an alternate dealer. Pilot has pathethic sales staff who are not trained to required levels. Extended warrenty is optional & not compulsary. Also verify the incidental (additional ammounts above the receipts he is going to produce) registration charges. From my experiences with Pilot it would be a strict NO NO.

dunno what else but the upcoming trip will throw some new ones for sure

New bikes are supposed to have better long lasting consumables as compared to spares available

case in point My r15 had first change of chain sprocket at 27 k -than every 15-18k intervals therafter -brake pads at 14k- cone set at 60 k & clutch plates at 65 k

One of the prime reasons i am holding myself back from placing an order on CBR (no offence to the owners)... i was quite tempted by ninja but then for me touring requirement CBR fits just fine.. till honda completely irons out the problems in the newer lot i guess i will wait and till then hot rod me FZ

            Cheers

So when I shot this email I was already waiting for over 2 weeks & now...its a month!!! The ridiculous part is that, HMSI has shipped the rear sprocket & chain last weekend, but they haven't shipped the front sprocket. Today, if I go to buy a chain/sprocket set for my Rx, I get as one whole kit including, 2 sprockets, chain including the tounged washer. I don't know how HMSI can ship parts individually. The worst thing is that, I also need the rubber damper on the swing arm & they haven't shipped it.

The most funniest part is that...HMSI has about 15-18 C250R participating in Honda One racing at MMSC with every necessary spares, but, they only don't have spares for their customers!!!

I was almost determined to file a consumer court case if my bike wasn't ready by 19th to join the road trip & with the present conditions, I don't expect even a miracle to occur to make it. What do you guys suggest? Should I opt for consumer case?
I always wondered how much of patience you had .. if it was me in your position I would have filed a consumer case long time back ! and also I Suggest you to file a consumer complaint NOW .. the reason being .. instead of running back of your dealer ... make the dealer run back of you ! and also you will get the desired spares quickly ! instead of wondering when you will get it !

IMO , Not many have filed complaints .. I think its high time for everyone in this forum to file a case for issues which are neglected ... so that the honda concentrates more on spares !

              • CBR Club Membership card available.

                Hello Bangalore CBR owners,

Just got a call from my dealer, Haiku Honda, to inform that the official CBR250r club membership card is available now. Asked me if I would like to collect it personally or have it couriered. Informed I will collect it myself, going tomorrow for the same.

                Anybody else got similar call?

                  • Sincere request to madnav, royal_cbr & any other new C250R owner's - Guys, pls think before you shoot any questions; as a new owner, you could've several 100 questions, but, those are answered & discussed to death here several months ago. As you take time to understand your machine, also take time to go through the discussions here. That way, we don't discuss things all over again & again multiple times to bored as hell!!! When you come back with anything specifics on what was discussed or anything new, it will be interesting to discuss on those lines + enhance everyone's knowledge here. Discussing same things over & again will only be boring!!!

might I suggest posting links/summary/faq of the different topics discussed on the first page of this thread?something like an index I guess..running in-pages so and so/link,oil recommendations-10/30w or 20/40(?)..etc..going thru all the pages/issues might not be easy for newbies..nor cud everyone be overaddicted and read every page from the start like me..an faq post regularly updated could be helpful rite?u seem to be one of the cbr gurus here so just askin u..

Hi Shv18, in my opinion, its quite safe now to book the bike. I had similar apprehensions and so knowingly delayed booking and taking delivery of the bike. I can proudly say that I dont have any quality issues (Atleast I have not discovered one yet )
However its your call, so think, observe and decide. And if you have any doubt, test ride a properly run in piece(try some other bike other than the test ride bike). Performance will not dissapoint you, I bet on that!
Also someone in the forum mentioned that there might be new color options available in the near future, might as well wait for the same.
If you run out of patience and decide to book the bike from the existing options, please go for any color other than RED (we are just toooo many of us now )

Go only by service booklet except for basic maintenance like Chain lube . 1st service @ 500kms wud be little early go for 1st service on 800-900th kms .
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.
