Re: Honda CBR 250R
My personal suggestion is to buy the cbr abs if you have the cash. Its got abs and better cooling than the FZ25. Also the top end is more.Originally posted by prashnagpal View PostAlso 2 months old & only 500 kms & pics look perfect. If i am going ahead will definitely inspect it well but my doubt is should I choose the cbr abs over the fz25. 1.40L vs 1.75-1.80L?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Then it is the best and even my friend also came across a CBR 250 R ABS and a few goodies with the bike and the asking price was also 1.75 but the only thing was it was HR registered else he would have bought that and then we went to the nearby showroom which had a REPSOL Cbr non abs which was offered for 1.5 lacs with 50kms on odometer and he bought it immediately. I think you should buy it.Originally posted by revvharder View PostYou can even look in showrooms for BSIII models, if they are available you will get a good discount but they will be registered in the name of showroom as first owner and you will become the second owner

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Actually it is available in Delhi and I think I even saw one on OLX which is offered by a dealer and I think you should also look at some pre-owned Duke 390 or RC 390 as it will be in your budget.Last edited by revvharder; 05-27-2017, 09:52 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I usually wash my bike with the pressure washer at home on sunday or once in two weeks. But it doesn't have much pressure as its powered by 12v mobile charger in car. It was last pressure washed during the first service which was on 30th April.Originally posted by Wilson4willy View PostAvoid high pressure wash from next time.
Thanks for the advice I'll it in mind during the monsoon washes at the washing centre

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I have a custom made rack. I use it to carry luggage when I tour with a pillion. I keep the lightest luggage on rack and fit the heavier things in saddle bag to avoid wobbling.Originally posted by AshishTamhane View PostHas anyone here tried to fit a luggage rack like the one shown below:

sorry, I don't have a picture of rack alone.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Didn't see that on a retail shop in my city, but will surely check it online. Heard about shell 10W40 too. Thanks brotherOriginally posted by s1d View PostTry the motul 7100 10w40. One of the best oils around. Cost you close to 800rs a litre (try checking on amazon.in since they regularly have a good deal on it)
Change the oil filter at every oil change.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
WOW! That's odd! I thought I'm the only one with this problem. So the solution is to keep an extra 1 liter pack always. [emoji53] Thanks brotherOriginally posted by leech View PostI have oil vanishing issues too. Couple of cbr250 owners i know mentioned the same issue in their vehicles. No leaks, no difference in exhaust smoke tone. Oil brand makes no difference. I top up the oil every 3000 kms.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hmm.. that's true, and I have never done a compression check till now. Its is important to do so because I already feels like a pick up lag. Thanks for replying brother.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostAs others mentioned, you can use gasket maker or you can remove the oil filter cover, check the O-right for proper seating and then retighten it (but not over tighten). Gasket makers can be used as a temporary solution. If you have an oil change imminent, it's a good idea to change the O ring of the oil filter cover.
Do not over optimistically consider manufacturers oil change interval. For a motorcycle, the engine oil has to go through stress, shear, temperature that is so much higher than a four wheeler and 3 to 4k is max for a FS oil to drag it to. I'd always recommend 3.5k for FS in liquid cooled engines. It's really complicated, oil does evaporate, but not as fast as one thinks it can evaporate. Oil does burn, but what I'd suggest is do a compression check and see if the compression is fine, if it isn't oil maybe getting burned slowly which is very hard to notice.
Cheers!
