More than worse I thought! Is that electrode coming out of plug? Head needs to be removed to check if any metal residue on the top of piston.

P.S. Hi, Arv, please try not to quote the entire picture set. Helps mobile readability.

After 3 years and 9 months and 38510 Kms of using the stock Exide 6Ah battery, yesterday i have changed it to Amaron 7Ah battery from a local battery retailer shop.

New Battery MRP is Rs. 1645, and after the buyback of old battery i paid Rs. 1500. New battery manufactured by Nov 2016.

Considering that i have drained the battery twice, the life out of the stock battery is very good. First almost 2 years back i have left the key overnight in bike with ignition on which drained the battery almost completely(all electricals switched off when starter button is pressed). Second, before a month i left the key in ignition for 1 hrs which drained the battery to a level that i cannot crank the engine but power can other electrical items like light, horn etc..

For over 4-5 months, i had the issue of lights(especially the neutral) going dim more than usual and engine taking 3-5 seconds to start the bike. Recently for about a month the ECU often goes for initial check along with fuel pump priming during the starting of bike, so decided to change the battery.

After changing the battery i observed the below changes in bike
1. Bike getting started in 1-2 seconds
2. Responsive in lower rpm, and general vibes reduced across all rpms
3. Surprisingly gear shift smoothness is increased

Overall i feel that the bike has undergone full service

There I found a cheap rubber mud flap which fits the front fender properly with the help of screws. No making holes, no pasting with adhesives nothing. Just tighten the screw and its done. I have attached the pics of the same. It costed my just Rs. 30 and 10 min. to fix it . I have not tested it yet just fixed to the bike. I'll update as I test it out.
That does not look flush with the fender, but i guess it will do the job intended to do. and that is very much cost effective and quick. May be we can have it in the under seat storage and use it on need bases as installation is very much quick . Any idea to which bike/scooter this was designed?

But from the pic the clearance between the screw/nut and the tyre looks very close, if its to close you should have to keep an eye out for it to avoid tyre or fender damage.

That looks bad, hope the damage is limited to the plug alone and not to other nearby parts. Update once you have any info.

improperly installed plug or a faulty/poor quality plug i suspect the former.
hope the piston hasn't been smashed or other internals like valves/conrod gone for a toss. the head probably requires some lathe work (re-threading the plug hole.)
do take some pics while you get it repaired and let us know the damages.

Thanks for sharing. It's always good for other owners to earn some pre-owned experiences.

Update : the senior mech arrived at the local SVC, and opened the head and cleaned out the remains of the ill fated plug, and fixed in the new one.

Due to comm mismatch, they didn't call me when the mech arrived, and I missed the entire work done. However, I test rode the bike, and all's well. For now.

They also adjusted the gear shifter for free.

I didn't have pay any charges, since it was a trainee tech mistake.

Thanks for your support,guys. [emoji4]

It doesnt fit flush but I hope it will do the work. I'll be riding the bike tomorrow so will update accordingly. The part is generic one and yes I'll be keeping a watch on the front tyre as clearance is less.

what was the mistake ? Plug cross threaded not tightened properly?
sure do believe they 'forgot' to contact you during repairs.

You can use the PDI inspection pointers that are tagged in the starter post of this thread. That will be a detailed enough inspection.

Apart from this, insurance, accident history, service bills, warranty period/claims if any, major part changes and such is a given.

The CBR is a smooth vehicle, even after years and kilometers of use(if maintained properly). If the one you're testing isn't, something is wrong.

Now I know why most of Honda SVC aren't ready to service CBR250R. When I was riding to Kochin from trivandrum, I went to 4 SVC to change the air filter and adjust the chain. Unfortunately so of them said "sorry we can't"

Manderzone - any local mech can adjust chain and changing the air filter, we can do it ourselves. 5 mins job.

Actually, not every Honda ASC is equipped or authorised to service the CBR250R. Only certain ASCs, assigned with a CBR tech and a separate bay for CBR service are authorised to work on CBR250Rs. Truly premium, eh? :P

P.S: Regular service centres don't even keep a paddock stand around!

Yea, got that premium feel every time when the rejected service And I was wondered and a bit shocked when one of those SVC said they doesn't have enough mechs to adjust the chain! I asked them why you need so many, and they answered the bike needs to be lifted by two guys and one to adjust the chain (they didn't had a paddock) I said its ok leave it and to be honest I was struggling not to laugh.
