yes argee you are right.Originally posted by aargee View PostPenning down my thoughts...
Akro, Yoshi, TB or LeoVi...just remember, per law, the exhaust note should be less than 91db; see the stupidity of the law here - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/221...mbai-cops.html
Now that said, you could use a DB killer & go unnoticed, but the flip side is, its as good as stock
Now the other way is, get a static PC or piggy backs with stock exhaust to boost the power; or get a programmable one, replacement ECU & then a full blown exhaust system, now that's what I call kicking someone's ass
. It also has a flip side... exorbitant cost.
Now all the above products are reliable, made by team of people who carry out R&D methodically over years with proven record over time...consistently; you can certainly see a bump in the performance on a dyno. But again, don't expect the bhp to flip from 25 to 52; the best you can expect a boost of 20-25% which is 30-32 Bhp & a top speed probably of 175 Kmph on speedo. If you look at the cost, you might as well ask...is it worthy
Oh!!! and again, no matter what slip on you use, the BHP increase is going to be...just 1%, which is from 25 to 25.2 Bhp
In fact you just corroborated my thought process on the whole issue.
My aim behind any mod is not mind numbing power or acceleration but just to make it more driveable, by anything I dont expect a 250 to behave like a 650 !!
Its a wonderful machine if only below 4000 rpm it becomes a lil more peppy....this is what I need.
Actually the final thing is feel good factor , thats all !!Last edited by techfreak; 04-19-2012, 01:05 AM.Once a Biker ....Always a BIKER

Ya sat on it.... seemed comfy. The seat only seemed modded from the front so the balls can be saved from the tank!
I put back the saree guard and it helps to keep the bag away from the wheel now!Originally posted by me is rossi View PostI got a quote for crash bobbin of rs.4500

Don't think, I got you completely
I'd strongly agree to it...unless the price of each bobbins are something like Rs 250-300 or soOriginally posted by kimshine View Postcrash bobbins not worth it , as even fairing is not that costly
What have they done? Did I miss somethingOriginally posted by chicmagnet View PostIn any case, you can check out what DK/Biru have done with their bikes. Could do something similar?

shims
Cbr 250r noise - YouTube
how does one know if shims actually have to changed? Please check above video. I decided to record this engine sound. This sound only comes during "idle" on a cold start only, kat kat kind of noise. Once the bikes starts, it starts without this sounds, after few 7-10 seconds this kat kat noise starts off. However after i start driving it for a minute, the kat kat noise disappears. This noise doesnt appear once the engine is warmed up or even after ripping my ride. I will be giving it for service soon however need your inputs before i give it.
Once again this noise comes only during "cold start". @aargee : would like to hear your inputs on this.Tuning the RPM's and BPM's...

I'm yet to see/hear the video, but Tks for pulling me in; my experiences are...Originally posted by nosfreak View Post@aargee : would like to hear your inputs on this.
Few days ago, there's an additional noise when I raise above 112, then it started happening at 110, then above 97, then above 96. Fortunately by then, I completed my trip & needless to say about the huge vibration.
My CBR is left at ASC to get the issue fixed; there's nothing can be noticed at idle & speeds at 80 is something one will love, really love due to the extreme smoothness, rock steady RVM's, no additional sounds.
My take is that, the shim replacement issue can occur anytime with any kind of symptom; atleast, that's what I learnt. Also, I've been told by HMSI engineers that, if one sticks to the policy of no sudden acceleration, SHIMs are designed to last every 15-20K kms.
Edit - Heard just now; that's something similar I heard during high speeds on my CBR too; what happens to the noise if you open the throttle a little or more; appreciate a RPM wise observation. And you know a funny thing? Mine never made additional sound during idling no matter how much I open up the throttle. Quite strange

Update - JSP said they cannot fix the SHIMs for now for the very reason the clearance levels are acceptable & within limits per HMSI; but what the heck!!! there's additional noise that appears at speeds above 96. Now I've to wait until the noise appears all over; totally disappointing.
Srivaastav - Fairing noise probably? It fades in rest of the gears as the bike probably tends to be smoother.
OT - How's that you're having so much complaints; either you're noticing such minute things?Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Urgent
@ all CBR owners
I would like to know what reading your bike was showing when you took delivery.
I have herd that showroom guys some time give test ride of bikes and then sell them to customers
, they should have separate bike for test ride or should not give test ride.
I am booking mine today and you know what bike price has been increased by 2000 Rs from 15th onward.

Test ride vehicles have the ODO attached. So it is very unlikely. Also, the speedo/odo readings come from the transmission, and NOT from the front wheel. it is a bit tricky to disconnect (And maybe impossible, because I believe Engine ECU also reads the speed from the same system).Originally posted by amandeepkamboj19 View Post@ all CBR owners

amandeepkamboj19 - Agreed with alljunaki, except that..
the speedo/odo readings come from rear wheel without cables through sensor attached to ECUOriginally posted by allajunaki View Postthe speedo/odo readings come from the transmission,Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Ideally yes, but practically not;Originally posted by amandeepkamboj19 View PostIt means your bike was showing 0 km in ODO??
Very reason, they ride the bike to RTO for inspecting & applying registration.
