There is some minor noise coming from front console area. It's just sound generating from looseness. When I visited SVC last time the mechanic tighten it somehow by removing and re positioning something. Now for this job I don't want to go SVC and stand in a queue. Can anyone tell me how do I fix this by my own or at least giving local mechanic an instruction?

• What could have done this??

Hi Friends,
This evening, when I took my bike from the office parking lot, I noticed that the brake lever is bent. No visible damages to the fairing though.
I had dropped my bike when parked about a couple of months back and had ridden 1000+ KMs since then.
Not sure if this happened because of that and I was so unaware of the bent lever all these days, or something must have happened in the parking lot.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,
A AmarnathClick image for larger version

amaath - a work of art, that lever sure is. You can choose to ride it that way, or change it. It costs ₹180, or go for a unicorn lever which will be cheaper.

Haha! definitely a work of art, looks like a mustache. Thanks for letting me know the price, leech. I'll replace it soon.
But I'm curious as to what might have caused it...

Well, I've noticed that the bent levers are much more comfortable to use than the stock ones 😂
Do check your right clip-on alignment though. It maybe bent when you dropped the bike

I did replace mine (all shims) at home and I remember it took almost a day (started working at 8 am and finished the job by 2 pm). The most irritating things are removing fairings and tank and remounting them. Mine is working fine since then and it has crossed 42K km by now. It was an used bike (8100 Km on odo when I bought it). Shim noise was already there. I changed those shims at 18k km on odo. Before that I got my valve clearances inspected once at Malwa Honda at odo reading around 16000 KM and their labor charge for that was 1000 INR. I rode with same jingling - went on long trips as well. Some were 900 KM in a day and that jingling was permanent - neither decreased not increased. It didn't affect in power or performance either.

If your valve clearances are within normal limit, just ignore that sound and ride on...

Which side mirrors are they?

My cbr is loosing power. Don't know because of what but at the point when i start riding the bike 1st time at low engine temperature it has more amount of power than at high temperatures. I think that my valve clearance is too tight. Can this happen? My bike has run 19k. Rpm increases taking pauses in between and if u want to stay on a certain speed it doesn't do that it fluctuates and jerks. Taken my bike to 2 svc and one checked my engine sound and said valve clearance is ok and engine is good and another one told me to change the cylinder block because cylinder wall is scrached which I don't think has happened.[emoji20]

Shims over time widen and get mildy loose. Shims would not get tighter, once in an engine the only way is to replace them with the right size of shim, perpetually. Secondly, fluctuating RPM can mean adulterated fuel, dirty fuel filter and blocked injectors. If you see white smoke during start up, thick white smoke that is during start up in the morning and smoke after the engine has warmed up and run a few kms, then a piston or valve check is required.

Observe for any loose parts by peeping underside the bike, check the number plate holders, check the mirror stem holders, those oval holders with two allen keys. cowling latches. In some cases it might be the wire connectors themselves that bang against the plastic cowling inside and produce those annoying vibrations.

No. Indian CBR or at least post 2014 have a side stand feature, I guess it's a good feature not to have it. Honda might have known the issues this sensor can cause due to dust accumulation and what not. The same issue plagues some Duke 390. Dust accumulation in the sensor causes engine to stall and it's very hard what the source can be. So, indeed it's a wise decision from Honda not to include this sensor in the Indian version.

Since then not a single time it able crank -Tried 3-4 times - Looks like she is done.

Is the fuel pump on when it does the self check?
Its the small vibration feeling near tank when you crank it up.
If not then thats the culprit.
One of my friend's is facing the same problem, we are still thinking how to take it to the nearest svc. If it happens before your issue gets solved, will share it here.

Guys is a radiator guard worth for our bike. I meant in terms of the radiator breathability, does it affect the air flow and chances will be higher for heating up?

Yes...During Boot Up - Everything is normal like Usual Humming from the Fuel pump, Self-check with Engine Light On & Then Engine Light Goes Off etc, Nothing unusual...No Jerk or kick back, No Missfire either.

The symptom was (by judging the sound I can predict) something goes loos inside the engine and yesterday it finally gets detach from that.

Exactly same thing happened with my CBR150, 5-6 months ago.
Remove spark plug cap & put it back again, this trick worked on my bike.

From your video I can sense that the bike cranks way too freely, how a bike would crank when a spark plug is removed. I'd definitely recommend you to check your spark plug, and your spark plug lead, check them both. Start off first with the plug lead/cap, remove the cap and install them back, crank the motorcycle to check if she fires. If she doesn't remove the plug and install it back and see if she cranks up, she should fire up if it's a simple issue. Though, I see your fuel level is too low.

Yes and no. Yes it looks cool, no it can clearly mask the goop/gunk that covers in the radiator and can overtime ruin the cooling efficiency of the radiator and remember if you intend to clean the radiator, the guard is then required to be removed each and every time.

Don't know what's the exact age of your machine but I guess it's at least 5+ years old. Did you ever changed the spark plug till date? As suggested by B7ACKTHORN do check all the mentioned things.

On last month I had same issue and that time I felt it was due to low fuel but it was not, rather it was an engine flood which was solved only after opening-closing throttle with cranking for a minute. Do let us know when the issue get resolved.
