clean the air filter box with a damp cloth or with a cloth wet with petrol so that all the oil residue can be wiped out clean.
Make sure the breather pipes are routed properly.
replace the air filter with a new one.
Change your oil and oil filter.. ensure you don't over fill the oil. Rather say start off by adding 50-100ml lesser, than the recommended.

Now ride your bike around normally for a couple of weeks and keep an eye on the oil level and air filter every couple of days, and also if you are seeing any smoke especially on cold starts.
Thanks for your suggestions. I will monitor it for sometime and will update if I find something new

And where is the travelogue, sirji? Everybody comes here to post problems but the guys who are blessed to do long rides don't want to put up any inspiring posts. Sadness.

I am not really good at writing travelogues though I have been doing long rides since 2014. If it's fine to share personal ride experience here, I will be happy to share some photos with short descriptions.

Guys, when I start my bike, it makes a certain noise which sounds like jingling of metal. Any idea what it could be?
And update on the ignition issue: gave it to Pilot Honda in Chembur. The mechanic replaced the stator coil on the bike. But I'm in kind of a confusion, cuz the stator coil was changed less than 8 months ago.
Is the life of the stator coil only this much? Or does it depend on the usage of the bike?
P.s. no additional wiring has been installed on the bike.

Yes, it did stop after the coil change. The coil was changed the last time it happened too, 8 months ago

Does the jingling sound come only when the bike is cranked or after the engine has fired up. If you observe, metal pinging sound during cranking, it can be due to a faulty one way clutch. If you observe the jingling sound or the "infamous stitching sound" once the engine fires up, it's time to check your CCT (CAM CHAIN TENSIONER) and shim clearances and replace the shims if necessary. Secondly, stators on most bikes last a life. A stator replacement warrant in less than 8 months after a prior replacement can mean a faulty new stator or excessive load on the stator or poor wiring of any add-on accessories on the motorcycle.

Nonetheless, a stator going kaput in less than 8 months might mean, a faulty new stator a botched up installation job or excess electrical load on the stator and less engine oil.

                        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

It's only when the bike is cranked, like, the first crank of the day. Once the engine is heated, there's no sound
And for the coil, if it was a bad installation job, it's a shame because it was changed at authorised SVC.

I'd suggest you to post an audio clip or video if feasible, so that it can help us get more insight.

I think I'll need to replace the coneset, given that it was replaced quite a while back.

As per the Fork-Oil spec... thanks for the clarification!!!

I'll update once I've taken the bike to the Chennai SVC.

One more thing... I read somewhere and for the life of me can't exactly remember where... but could the issue be due to the swingarm pivot axle/bearing's shoddy condition?

                                TIA!!
swingarm bushes are damn good. they usually do not go bad and can be just regreased and fitted again. also if they are gone you will notice it that moment itself. the moment you give throttle the rear will move either side.

sounds to me more like a CCT ( cam chain tensioner ) sound that usually goes away when warmed up.
