Getting the bike this coming friday, I had already booked the bike at time of applying for the loan. Now, when I asked the showroom guy, if I'd be getting the 2013 or 2012 manufactured model, he said that 2013 model would be available from March end onwards, and I'd getting the Dec end manufactured model.

So my question is should I wait till March or get this week only?
Are the Dec manufactured models are working fine without any issue?
By the way, going for the Red color.
Last week i got a call from Honda india..asked them about 2013 new colors. 2013 manufacturing started.. but as of now there is no changes in 2013 CBR250R including color.

    • Hi all,am from Bangalore and am looking forward to buy a cbr250 standard.Surprised to hear from various showroom guys that theirs no stock of standard cbr and they only have abs version in stock instead.Am really confused now by thinking that whether its a new marketing strategy of the dealers to sell maximum no of abs cbr's. :O

Even one of my freinds is not getting CBR in Bangalore. They are saying there is an waiting period and not sure when would they receive the next stock. The showrooms are not even taing the bookings. IMO, ABS version is worth that extra buck since it can be a life saver in panic situations. Go for it. I own a std version and not regretting why diddn't I get a ABS one. Overall, CBR is a wonderful package.

              • As per the information that I have from Honda factory, they are expecting to start production for the Repsol editions by June-July 2013 and likely to be available for sale from Sept 2013.

I have been riding my Pulsar 220 DTSI for the past 3 years. have modified it a litle with Joel exhaust, Iridium spark plug, K&N filter, Pirelli SD tyres.. etc.
I rode my friend's CBR 250 the other day and was blown away by it.. not in terms of acceleration or speed (have ridden faster bikes) but in terms of finesse and poise.

Now guys i have a query.. I would like to go for CBR 250r 2013 Repsol Edition with ABS.. can anyone inform me about its launch date?
AFAIK it might be launching around March 2013.. Can anyone confirm that?
Hope to get a Reply soon and very soon would be a part of the CBR family...

Yeah bro i wanted to go for abs,but thanks to my budget,i can't extend it for an abs cbr.Yeah the showroom people doesn't have stock and they are telling that i will have to wait for 40-45days for a standard one..Out of all the Honda showrooms only Sapphire Honda and City Honda are having some stocks. Will go and check their tomorrow.Hope i get a positive reply from them, cause i cant wait for so many days for this bike because i need a set of 2wheels immediately.

                  • Got my C250R today!!! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

                    First awesome ride impressions -
Big bike feeling, very good riding posture, butter smooth clutch and gear shift, great pick up, seat and rear suspension feels a bit hard. That's all for now as driven only 5 kms..

Now few questions - At the time of delivery, the mechanic took out the battery from C150R and fitted in my bike as all the other batteries were not working. Is that fine, I mean do both these bikes use same batteries?
I asked to shift the gear lever down as currently it is too high, but they said its not possible, so can I do this on my own, if yes, please let me know the steps?

                    Will post pics soon..

Pruthviraj, its the same as ebay product & no issues with the length of so, albeit i feel you may get it over there locally too. If not, ebay it, its a direct fit, 28 SMD LED ones.. you get 38 LEDs too, though dont know if they would be a direct fit too.

well, first of all congrats for the new steed you got. post a few pics.
be a little easy on throttle for first 500 km and start revving it gradually.

suspension is the best in its class trust me however you might be feeling it hard due to the change sitting posture and the seat.
dont worry .. few more days and you'd get adjusted...

and yes the gear lever's position can be changed. next time the SVC idiots tells you it can be done
ask him to get a 6 number allen key and a 10 NO ring spanner.. loosen out the gear shifter and the attached line
take it out and push it back to 2 teeth below and you are all set. any local mech would do it.

as for the battery change. the 150R also runs on a 6ah MF battery so you are all good.
enjoy your ride.. have fun but dont go blasting so soon....

Thanks for your advice.. Yes, I had the gear lever changed by the local mechanic, he did it in few minutes only.

The gear shift is a bit hard now, what could be the reason? Could it be the less lubrication of the chain? How can get it smooth?

Getting used to the seat, suspension and riding posture.. On the riding part, I'm shifting the gears around 5k rpm, is that fine? Because at this point, the sound from the engine make me feel that I'm over-revving it. Till now, my max. speed is 80kmph 5th gear.. I hope I'm going good with the running-in procedure!!

Suggest me if I'm doing something wrong..
