Re: Honda CBR 250R
I have got my Form 28,29,30 all ready to be signed by the potential purchaser of my bike. But still not getting decent buyers !
People expect a CBR at 150cc prices
in Gurgaon.
Also, not happy with the profile of buyers. Mostly college junkies who have no idea what is different between an R15 and a CBR and register a blank face when i tell them that I have upgraded to Pirelli Sport Demons. Really hope to get a good buyer for my bike who loves riding and takes care of it. Can't bear to see my bike go to a moneyed junkie who will just wring the throttle and would get it serviced from a local mech

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Buddy just asking ..can you post some snaps of the MRFs(FRONT and REAR) up close (so as to show the tread pattern) and also the model name of the tyre and other specs(speed and weight rating, size, profile, radial or not etc)?. Thanks in advance.Originally posted by kn8Alpha View PostDid you opt for Contigo tyres on your Repsol? Also, general questions to everybody - is the MRF any better than the Contigo, if so in what aspects (is it more sticky/ more duarable) ??Last edited by BAMBI143; 08-01-2013, 01:21 PM.HISTORY IS NOT ABOUT WHO IS RIGHT BUT ABOUT WHO WRITES IT.......

Bro my CBR is a STD version NOV 2011 model which was RED in color. It came with CONTI GO as stockOriginally posted by kn8Alpha View PostDid you opt for Contigo tyres on your Repsol? I noticed that most showrooms here in Bangalore come only with MRFs fitted on the Repsol paint scheme..

I changed my rear tyre from ContiGo to MRF REV Z - C (Ktm duke tyre) after getting it JOELED, its been now 7k kms on MRF rear tyre. Best for cornering, improved stability by a high margin.
IMO its more sticky and not more durable.
will change the front also to MRF , may be next week

Regarding transfer of insurance, it's easier to take a new insurance in your name rather than going through all the hassles involved in transfer of insurance.
Yeah... Ive got all the required docs for ownership transfer ... the insurance policy ends in a month... Im gonna apply for a new one in 2-3 days...
The seller is a middle aged(38-40) bike enthusiast and he used the bike very rarely... It feels like brand new
(3.5k km )
He even called me today and asked how his bike was behaving(he's obviously missing it
)
He sold it to buy a bigger CBR (600rr maybe)

Re: Honda CBR 250R
My CBR too would be up for sale towards the end of the year - IF and WHEN Triumph gets in the Bonnie and IF the price is fine. Will post the condition in pics and words as it will exist at that point of time!
People are asking about Contis Vs MRF. IMO and exp, no comparison. The Conti combo on my bike (May 2011, first batch types) has THE MOST dangerous tyre behaviour I have seen yet on any vehicle. Only my innate caution (no ABS) and experience of motorcycling has saved me from having drinks with the red forked friend downstairs. I don't intend to keep the bike for too long else would have changed the stock disasters to PSDs or MRFs within the first WEEK of ownership. That sideways shift in the wet almost makes my pants go wet and passers-by give suspicious looks as they hear me muttering profanities at the tyres. One simply cannot FEEL the tyre biting into the tarmac.
In comparison, my 2002 Pulsar 150 Classic had MRF Zapper combos both front and rear before I changed to a Michelin front and TVS Jumbo rear. The MRFs and the present ones are literally leeches on the road - tested on Golden Quad surfaces, Zoji La, Khardung La etc. I am able to achieve better lean angles on the Pulsar than on the CBR (
), just because of the complete lack of faith in the latter's tyres.
Mik. Exactly. That is why I will NEVER sell my Pulsar. I have told my son to ride it to my funeral!!!

Thanks.
thats too much of investment.. and even if possible.. dont do it..
buying non-abs and converting to abs.. the whole point of buying a second hand will be wiped off..
i do not even wanna talk bout numbers now.."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Your thoughts used to mirror mine on the CBR
After the tyre upgrade, things are much better. Though I still want a good home for it.
And yes, my old aunty Pulsar 220 Fi - just got resurrected. Spending some loving hours scraping off the rust, painting and repainting and applying WD-40 at every nook and corner. In love again
