Ok, so there was no flashing for most of the journey till now it was within 3 bars itself(not flashing), and in 2 instances it was 4 bars and 5 bars , again not flashing.

I did feel at times some heat on my legs, so i guess that was the fan working. It din occur to me to check it at that time, it was during a break during my ride i notices the fan and thought that i haven't seen it working.

Will check it out anyway while going for first service.

And about the precautions,
1) coolant level i haven't checked.
2) The radiator fins have no damage , checked it already. And the engine is cooling down fine too, except for those 2 occasions(heavy snail paced traffic) the temp bar never got above 3 bars.

Cheers

Hi,
To check the fan workings - ride it for say 15 minutes in the city. In a traffic signal or when you stop, turn Off the engine using engine kill switch and turn the engine kill switch On again (engine is still off). Within about 5 to 10 seconds you will hear fan coming On with its characteristic buzz. If not, it could be a sensor issue or coolant level issue. As @harsimranjitsidhu661 says, check coolant level first.
In Blr, or on extended ride on 2+hrs, I have never seen temp above 3 bars. But in hotter places, I don't know yet.

Thanks for the reply mate. I am particularly interested in Moriwaki user review. When a HRC director recomends a brand and states that it has the most advanced technology in Exhaust building their must be something in it.

I learnt a very important lesson but in a very harsh way.
I used to take my friends pulsar NS whenever my Karizma was in the service center or whenever I didn't have a bike to go to office.
Now I have a new all black CBR250R which is just a month old. Do apparently I had to return the favor to my friend when he asked me if he could use my bike for a day. So he took it at 11 in te morning an got it back at 12 midnight. At night I couldn't make out couple if things. And in the morning I had the shock of my life. An area on the fuel tank seems like the paint has been damaged completely as I suppose something very hot qas either kept on the tank or spilled on the tank. My exhaust guard didn't even have a single scratch and now it has scratches which even a 1 year old CBR would not have.

Moral : never ask someone for his bike so that u don't have to return the favor.

Oh!. I can understand. Don't be that self critical. But for me, even if I didn't borrow bike from my friend, I would have lent my new CBR to my friend of course with a small knot in my gut . Somehow try to get over it now .
By the way, don't worry about exhaust shield. It will get scratches within weeks. Lot of riders underestimate the CBRs rear width and they will
come and touch the shield and the say sorry (only some say sorry). You have to just let them go. Further, some pillion riders don't realize that it is a sports bike and may try to sit with their foot rested on exhaust for a comfortable (?) ride rather on foot rest (as initial blind leg search for a rear foot rest fails, they fall back to exhaust) . We may have to guide our pillion with foot pegs if retracted. The exhaust shield is such a flimsy scratch magnet that any touch from a hard material will ding and scratch it. I think we can do a black carbon fiber sticker job on it or paint it black again.
Coming back to tank, I would go for a repaint job as I can't tolerate a major mark on CBR's stomach. Hopefully, this forum has resolved this issue and knows right contacts/information/idea to do the job in case you decide to.

Yeah I know have to get over it. And the funny thing is I clicked snaps and sent it to my friend and after having a look at he is is not coming online on what's app. Mate he is also feeling guilty because I know he also loves bikes more than anything else and he also doesn't let anything happen to his NS. I have forgiven him already.
Coming back to getting my beauty back to being a beauty.
1. I am getting a carbon fiber look vinyl on the exhaust guard. Will post pics when done.

2. For the tank I will be going for a repaint.
Do just a few questions.
A. How much will it cost to paint just the tank.
B. warranty won't cover it I guess so can I claim insurance.
C. If its not that expensive I will just shell out if my pocket.

Can anyone shed more light on the above questions.

It really is disheartening to see a new bike in such condition. Are you sure the clear coat has come off? To me it looks like some kind of a deposition. Try cleaning it with foam and car shampoo and then a coat of polish. See if it helps.
Getting a good quality paint job done which exactly matches the colour of your bike is going to be tough to find. Check how much does a new tank cost, weigh your options and then decide what you plan to do. The heat shield can be changed anytime, keep using it for some time and when it gets too scratched get a new one.
Btw what did your friend exactly do with the bike? Was it out of jealousy?
Like you said he loves his bike, he should definitely know how to handle new bikes and this shouldn't have happened in the first place.

I have already tried to clean it with a car wash shampoo but to no avail. I am planning to take it to a professional and get a suggestion. Lets see. Today being Sunday didn't go. So tomorrow after office I will drop by a 3M car Care center and seek an opinion. Then planning to visit the SVC and check fr the prices of paint and also tank. Lets see how much will this burn a hole in my pocket. Will keep u guys posted.
And I don't think it's out of jealousy. Maybe some of his friends got jealous and could have done it. 😿🙀

I don't think you'll need to repaint the tank, from what I can make out, the clear coat is damaged a bit.
Ask your friend if he had placed anything on the tank. It could be that some 'monkey' put his boot on your bike's tank.

There are two easy solutions.
1) Put your fingernail on the scratches and see if they are 'deep' . If you can feel the ridges, the clearcoat is damaged (actually scratched). You can rectify it by taking Motomax 2K rubbing compound (remember to use the liquid one in a black bottle, the yellow plastic box is harsher). Apply a slight (pea sized) amount of rubbing compound on the scratches and start rubbing. With any luck, you should be able to get most of the shine back.

2) The other thing is that the clearcoat is only buffed (rubbed so that it is dulled). The easiest way is to buy formula 1 scratch out (or meguairs scratch x), apply a little, let it dry out and buff it for a shine. The advantage of this method is that it is not as harsh on the clearcoat. Of course, it depends on the extent of damage to the paint.

Also remember that these are both polishing compounds, and can strip off paint if used too often. For a shine on your bike, use a good wax (not polish).

Thanks for the info. I have a close friend who works at a Superbike Garage and is an expert at this. Will call him for his services.

I just came back from a 1250km trip from Chennai.. covering Pondi, Rameswaram and Madurai.. The touring comfort is lower than a ZMA/ZMR unfortunately! however, the CBR takes the twisties with a gusto. Surprise, surprise... the bike returned 46kmpl!

Moral : never ask someone for his bike so that u don't have to return the favor.
AND know when to give a "friend" the royal one fingered salute right away. A person who treats your bike with such callous disregard is in effect saying "f***k you" without appearing to be rude. You can do without such anal apertures as your friends.
AK3D. He has given the best advice to you for managing the damage. You could also ask this scumbag, very innocently, as to what he had carried on the tank. His answer should point you to a solution. The way the exhaust shield is scratched, it seems to me that some moron used it as a foot peg.

And the lesson is not "never ask someone for his bike so that u don't have to return the favor." The real lesson is to know when to say "NO. Sorry, I cannot lend you my bike. From the condition of your bike, I know that you abuse your bike really badly. So, I cannot lend you my bike. I shall give you the bus/auto/train fare for the journey but not the bike. If you agree, we stay friends. If you don't, get the f***k out of my face, a******e" or words to that effect.

I follow this norm personally. Once, I had to shell out about Rs 2.5k to a friend because I did not lend him my car for the day so I reimbursed his auto charges. I am happy, he is happy, all eez wael.

Get the philips extreme vision plus. Even the osram nightbreakers are equally good if not better but I have not been hearing very good longevity related reviews off late for the osrams.
May be some quality control issue at their side because, they lasted me well over 2 years and may be more with the current owner.
