A good 6k KM before the Chennai rains.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostHow long did u run ur first console?
I don't know how water entered the console as the bike was not even submerged. Well, i tried all the methods. Naturally dried the console, blow dried and checked many times. Only the display light will turn ON. So had to replace it.

the second one is working fine its been in chennai rains and covered around 5k so far no issues there.
Is it like few LED's flickering or entire lights including LCD flickering ?
If its just few LED's then it can be replaced I mean LED's many people in the group has done it I screwed because some stupid reasons.

Not even submerged? This was how my bike was during the rain, it was absolutely fine, luckily water was below the engine crankcase, only change in electronics was a battery change at 15000km much before , otherwise bike has been running normally without any issues since 2014 , covered 20000km on the odo nowOriginally posted by Sergeant_DawG View PostA good 6k KM before the Chennai rains.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
On the matter of Chennai rains, I rode my bike till the water covered the exhaust tip fully, the engine was completely under water. Still she didn't give up. Thats when I realised the value of a well designed motorcycle. Water entered my console after keeping the bike in open parking for many days in continuous rains. But the console dried itself up, after a couple of weeks. No electrical problems. Back then I didn't know who to thank, God or Honda.Last edited by leech; 03-31-2016, 11:37 PM.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
True, my bike was totally fine, I kinda rode it in the floods too, bike seems to have handled it pretty fine, really good durability and reliability of Honda that's why u can call me a fanboy. My ideal upgrade is a cb 650 (if they release) or CBR 650f

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Why not the Ninja 650 or the ER-6N? they are already here and are tried and tested machines with good reliability and service backup....Originally posted by Deathwing View PostTrue, my bike was totally fine, I kinda rode it in the floods too, bike seems to have handled it pretty fine, really good durability and reliability of Honda that's why u can call me a fanboy. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guys... one doubt.
what cause the drive chain to show uneven slack? To be precise, when rotating the rear wheel, chain feels loose at one point but much tighter at some other point. Its a bit headache while adjusting the chain slack. Can it be fixed? My chain is the stock one and completed 12K kms so far.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
My experience of Honda engines are fantastic, started off in 2006 with a 2004 Honda unicorn, I really loved that engine as it was pretty abused by the time it seized because I was a noob and never took care of it and many accidents, the bike is strong as a ox and after every service it felt like a new bikeOriginally posted by xplod566 View PostI think he found Honda to be very reliable so going again for honda
, now 2016 I have CBR which is serving me really well. My main reason for opting for a CBR is the engine refinement more than anything and the good mid and top range tho low end can be better.I could still go for a er6n or 6f, but lack of abs is off putting and with benelli also introducing abs for their 600 by the year end, I think Kawasaki should too, but coming to the CBR 650f I don't trust svm Honda in Chennai aynavaram, looks like the only Honda showroom n service that are keeping the 650s.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Engine oil used at my SVC is priced between 1000-1300 for 1.5 ltrs of oil. I think they use castrol.Originally posted by Sergeant_DawG View PostHow much does HONDA's throttle engine oil costs per litre? Just curious to know.
Currently the Shell's Advance Ultra 10W40 e-tails at a bargain price of 570Rs in Amazon.in.
