Honda Radiator Liquid is the best liquid, you can use Engine Ice or Motul MotoCool Expert. I personally use the Honda Radiator Liquid liquid and if you can't get any of the liquids, get Yamaha R15 coolant, best.Originally posted by Rethin View PostWhich is the best coolant for cbr 250

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Yes. Made in Indonesia ones, wonderful set of tires, very confident inspiring wet grip, and dry grips are exceptionally good.Originally posted by rahulpillai View PostHas anyone used the Pirelli Angel CTs here? Most of the imports on sale is pre-2020.
With recent tax hikes for imported tires, prices have shot up for old stock and import cycle has slowed down very much

Apart from the availability and price issues, these are the most VFM Pirelli's you can buy right now if your requirement is not looking for cornering or aggressive braking when the front-end is heavily loaded. On the straight lines its pretty much on-par with Diablo Rosso 2's H rated ones!
I've tried them on the new 2020 BS6 Mojo's and I can say they do the job well.Last edited by kiran2508; 12-07-2020, 01:46 AM.Bajaj SuperFE 150 - Forever in my heart

Hey guys
Help me! advise please.
Today I changed the engine oil and oil filter myself for the first time for cbr 250 and I guess I did a rookie mistake by overfilling it.
I filled the oil from 2 Motul 10w40 7100 litre bottles.
While filling the oil I got obsessed to fill upto the top marking of oil level window and forgot to check the quantity of oil left in the bottle . Problem is that only 250ml is left in the 2nd bottle which means 1750 ml has been filled in the engine. Manual says to pour 1500 ml while oil and oil filter replacement.
Attached are the pictures while the bike is vertical on a paddock stand, engine is warm. Please advise whether extra oil would damage the engine and I should drain the extra oil.Last edited by cbr250abs; 12-10-2020, 06:02 PM.

I did a level check on cold engine, it was above the top level as in the 2nd attachment.
For peace of mind, drained ~125ml to make it level just about the top level of inspection window also on cold engine
Lesson learnt: Engine oil level w.r.t inspection window makes sense on a cold engine.Last edited by cbr250abs; 12-11-2020, 02:26 PM.

Always check and top up engine oil level when the engine is cold or when the engine has completely cooled down. This way, all the oil that's up has time to settle down to the sump. The recommended oil level is the one in the second pic, oil level between those two marks. Do not overfill.

Doesn't the manual say the opposite? i.e. warm the engine up & then switch off and wait a couple of minutes for the oil to settle before checking.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostAlways check and top up engine oil level when the engine is cold or when the engine has completely cooled down.

The reason they say to warm up the engine is to make sure the oil is fluid enough to flow back to sump before checking oil. The couple of mins here is to make sure that oil is warm enough to be fluid enough to flow to the bottom. What manual states is absolutely right. If you park the bike to cool down, eventually the oil will settle to the sump and makes life easier. Both ways are pretty accurate.Originally posted by ChasingDucksAndGeese View Post

Manual says only to wait for a couple of minutes which is insufficient to let the oil settle down completely in the sump, this misinformation led me to overfill the oil.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View Post

It has to be left for at least an hour or better overnight to get correct reading in the oil inspection window.

the manual is absolutely right. the right way to check the engine oil, is to warm up the engine and shut it off and then check the oil after a minute or so. you don't have to wait any longer. and also make sure the bike is upright and flat on the ground and not on the paddock. the reason you might see a higher level is due to the paddock.Originally posted by cbr250abs View Post

While filling or drain the engine should be warm(around 50℃), what happens is that oil becomes thinner (which is good during drain) and at the same time it circulate in overall engine (which gives exact oil level). Overall this is very tough and tiring to be follow (unless you are on race track).
Easy way is 1. Drain while engine is warm
2. Just fill up to the max.
Note:- exact filling quantity differs from person to person. Every time I service (oil and oil filter) mine I requires 1650-1700ml Oil.

My CBR has done 68k in 8 years of ownership, and i find it pretty good, its still my only bike. I changed the coolant every two years, on my third set of bajaj 220 brake pads for rear, which inexplicably last ~25,000 kms. Switches working fine, and the rr unit seems to be fine since i haven't touched the electricals.
Flip side, my amaron 9ah got worn down due to the pandemic, this despite me having a charger. (Bosch C3 cant charge small AGM batteries well, it goes into trickle mode after a few seconds.) The battery was charged at the battery dealer, and its ok. For now.
Im using Shell Rimula R4 this round, and its pretty ok. No reason it cannot last 4000 kms.
