Please advise as to if it's okay to carry out all the points of service with a FNG or do I need to take her to SVC for some of them.

As I've seen, they (GarageUncle) carry out engine work too.
In my opinion, for engine and electrical jobs, prefer trained mechanics at ASC. For others like fluid replacement, brake adjustment/replacement, air filter replacement, lubrication, etc, you can go to a FNG.

      1) Mojo - My first choice, but I strike it out as they are pulling out its support for starting JAWA.
      2) Jawa- Thought Mahindra will pull it out as they did to Mahindra Centuro, Gusto & Mojo
      3) Dominar 400- Will save some cost, but as they are new some issues may come, so kept in waitlist
      4) Duke 390- I'm 28 at time of purchase, the right time to enjoy duke is from 18 to 25 with friends. So left out.
      5) Yamaha FZ25- No ABS during 2018, but it had best VFM for the price.
      6) Royal Enfield- The wow factor is gone due to easy availability
      7) BMW 310- Rate cancelled it
      8) TVS Apache RR- Too plasticy at the time of introduction and not so impressed with TVS Service.

I don't know about CBR250R till my friend introduced it. After that I enquired about it to my friend in Bangalore, then he enlightened me and bought the vehicle in one go.

Till this time only two or three niggles in wiring, gear lever broke and one rear brake pad change. Other than that there is no much alarming issue due to gods grace. One fall due to metal hit.

      My opinion -

Mojo - Works well, but electrics can be a problem. 'Works till it works, creates a lot of trouble if it doesn't'!
Jawa - Great for off roading, not so good for touring. I did a ride from Bangalore to Somwarpet (Near Coorg)
Dominar - Great for touring, not so much for off roads. Same Bangalore to Somwarpet ride
Duke 390 - Too much power for Indian roads. Just my opinion. I have a few friends who are owners, and they are fairly satisfied

My addition to your list would be -

KTM Adventure 250 - I believe this is perfect for the country. Also, H'Ness/CB 350 R

      But these just got launched.

But yes, CBR 250 R just feels great.

Would air filter be the reason for it ?
Update : I changed air filter few days ago & next day I had 90 kms ride to my village. I could feel the changes in initial acelaration but still there was some kind of powerloss. I reached my village n completed my work. While returnuing there was noticable power drop in accelration, specially btwn 4500-5000 rpm. CBR wasn't enough accelartaing even on 6th gear at 5000 rpm. Even crossing 90 kmph was looking difficult & felt like I was driving CBR on its limit. CBR wasn't gettting enough fuel. Mixed thoughts were coming whether my bike had problems in clutch plate, fuel filter or fuel pump. I freaked out as once my bike had problem in fuel filter n it stopped on the road & here I was still on highway. Luckily I reached home safely. I called ASC guy n he told me to come to ASC next day.
Next day at ASC, he cheched spark plug n fuel filter. Plug was new but Fuel filter was in pretty bad conditions as it was never changed in 58k kms. Replaced it immidetly. Next day took the bike to the highway run & it was running so freely. Accelaration back to normal. Felt so much change in bike. Sluggishness had gone.
Now I will check air filter n fuel filter at every 10k kms.

            Pretty used air filter

Fork Seal and Oil is available at service centres. Use the Fork Oil available at the service centres.
Just ensure that you get both the front seals changed if one of them is broken.

Got both in JSP Honda Chennai.
                They're helpful.

After that I can't able to get Honda 10W OEM oil in Chennai, so got Motul 20W heavy based on recommendation from Karthik (Highlander Bangalore).

Asked him for Cowl spare as it is damaged (not broken but the color blacked in side). Will get the update.

Clips and screws were also sourced from JSP Honda Chennai.

                  • Hello everyone i recently had an steering stem bearing problem in my cbr and on inspecting it i got to know that all the ball bearing and its races are rusted. So i was thinking to upgrade them to taper roller bearing so does anyone here know about there size or bearing number which fits?

                    • Found perfectly same taperroller bearing for the lower part of the stem which mostly takes all the beating. Didn't find the upper one because of 25.5mm size and had to go with the stock one. Size of taper roller bearing is 32006 which fits perfectly without any modifications to the dust seal or stem attaching all the pictures of the bearing and the same installed on the steering stem.

Basically, not much of a difference, but a subtle yet good feel for that matter. Tapered roller bearings help the front end give a better feel/ handlebar movement to the rider. Secondly, they last comparatively longer than caged ball bearings, and that's pretty much it.

harshil3604, can you please mention the cost, where you've sourced it from and also pre and post installation pics if any would be very helpful to folks.

                            Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                            THE END

Taperroller bearing has bigger contact area compared to ball bearing so it could bear higher tension compared to ball bearing and it lasts longer. The stock ball bearing(Honda) costs more than taperroller bearing so why not use better type of bearing.
