  • Hello Folks!

Does anyone here know the part number of cbr150r front brake pads which fit the front caliper of Cbr250 non abs version? I have to get it changed on my bike. I visited the service centre recently and those guys clearly refuse that there is no exact match of pads for the 150 and 250. I have also heard that there are 2 different designs for pads of the 150 so i would like to know the part number of the pads which fit the 250's non abs caliper.
Also i was thinking of switching to the tapered roller bearings(SKF probably) for the steering. I would like to know as to where i can procure them as i dont know the exact dimensions and cost. I am residing. in Pune.

    Thank You.

Though I don't have the OE part number handy, I can perhaps give you the part number for Bosch Brake pad set F002H241178F8 Brake Pads for Honda CBR 250 Non-ABS Type (Front). You can perhaps mention this number to your nearest parts stockist, or better if you can remove your pads and take it to your nearest parts supplier and show it to them, I am sure they can help procure one. You have to measure the exact dimensions of the top and lower bearing dia/depth and then measure the bearings yourself to procure one. It is 100% doable, provided the right bearing with the right dimensions are sourced. It's a pretty good way to brain storm and do a DIY.

Good luck, and I hope I helped somewhat with what I can share.

      Cheers!

      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

try these if you can't get the original part. these are also good quality aftermarket pads for the cbr250/cbr150(Abs).. i recently switched to nikavi brake pads on my duke and pretty happy with it so far.
        https://www.amazon.in/NIKAVI-Front-D.../dp/B06XGC8W7L
        https://www.amazon.in/NIKAVI-Front-D.../dp/B06XG8ZV4H

good thing is they are returnable

getting the bosch pads is also a choice, but availability might be iffy. i know for a fact that one of our cbr user theironhorse99 ended up getting the rear pad despite ordering a front one from bosch.

        • My Stock MRF has completed 85% of its life.
Michelin Pilot Street not available due to import restrictions.
What are other pure Radial Options for CBR 250R?
I want to switch from Bias type to Pure Radial Type.

Whether Apollo or Metzler has tyres for our CBR?

          • You can try MRF Masseters, they are bias ply and they have the size. You can also try Apollo series for the front tire and switch to a bias ply for rear if you'd like this setup. The Zapper S on the stock is a good tire for what it has to offer, I personally love that tire, cheap and extremely capable once warmed up. I'd also recommend you to scout for more shops as it should be available in shops you'd least expect.

            Good luck.

            Cheers!

              Thanks

Apollo doesn't have our 140/70/17 tire for rear.

For Michelin Pilot Street I tried at Lal Tyres & Autodrome in Chennai who are stockist for Michelin in Chennai. They have front tire 110/70/17 in Pilot Street II, whereas for rear they have 150/60/17 in plenty that in Street II variant whereas for 140/70/17 they have Pilot Sport and Metzelers.

Masseters are available in select MRF Shops. Will go for another try next week and do the changes.

My stock tire is Zapper S, it is very good and it is at 23K Kms now, Still having groove and not worn out completely and has some rough in middle. Punctures it faced after 10K Kms are worrying me now.
I want to change it before it nears the wear mark. Tyre shop and I predict it will work till 25K, where I set 24K KMS as max usage, before that I've to do the changes as tires will worn very fast when it was nearing the wear groove. Zapper S are easily available, but I need to try a upgrade.

Cost has increased! I had got both tyres in Feb 2020 for around Rs 6300, including installation.

This was available in MRF Mugappair (Tyre Needs). Mr. Sundeep Charles was helpful.

Whereas stock Zapper S / S1 & FY is available in all MRF Shops for our bike, even that would've costed Rs. 3300 for Rear & Rs 2200 for Front.

Then how was your Massetter performing? Any chances of frequent puncture as the threads are soft?

                        PS:
Michelin Pilot Street now available in Amazon for Rs 6900+ for rear and around Rs 4600-6000 for Front. This rates are atleast 30-40% more that the rates before import restriction.

Further new Michelin Pilot Street II is having speed rating of P, which is an downgrade from previous version's H Rating.

                        • Mine CBR's Michelin PSR has crossed 25k+ & still going great. But sooner I've to change both tyres as tyre threads r showing age. I have very good impressions of Michelin PSR But it seems after import bans they become very costly. When I installed, they costed me 11k.
Now I've shortlisted Apollo Alpha H1, MRF Massetter n Zapper. Although Alpha H1 doesn't have same size but it doesn't give problems (as per user reviews).

So far, they are performing well. Not tested in rain though. I have covered about 2700 kms without a puncture. Grip is confidence inspiring and I can lean sufficiently in corners. I had Contigos before this which were terrible so you know where I'm coming from.

I have heard these tires last 15-17k kms post which grip decreases.

                              25K+ KMS is very impressive.

Please update after installing new tyres.
You are going for 150/60/17 right?

15-17K is normal for heavy users.

                                Let's see how it performs.
