That's the first anniversary of the CBR ownership! Completed 10K kms on it and every single moment has been blissful. The Didar A$$ was a disappointing chapter, but Highlander, Bangalore was the savior. I can't believe I rode 10K kms in one year - as much as the "car" person I am, I believe, it's the quality of the bike which made me ride so much. Out of these just 2 rides accumulated 5K kms. Have to say I AM IN LOVE with the bike - will upgrade to a 650 in 2 years time, a V Strom or a Versys.

The bike is due for a service, will be going to Bangalore mostly next month and will get it done at Highlander. Might be adding some accessories too. Will need to see where do I ride starting the monsoon - that should be a lot of fun.

      Hey guys,

My cbr is almost due for disk pad replacement..both front and back..mine is an abs model..since the brake pads are costly are there any brake pads available that are a direct fit to the cbr abs..i read somewhere on this thread that p220 rear pads are a direct fit..but it didnt mention abs or non abs.

Pulsar 220s is for non-ABS models. For the ABS one, you can "try" Honda Hornet's CBS' front brake pad and rear brake pad, they are comparatively cheaper as to the ABS Pads of the CBR. Whether they fit is a question, but since Hornet CBS has the exact same caliper front and back as the CBR 250R, so it's worth a try.

        Cheers!

There is a small buzzing kind of vibration in my left hand side handle bar , between 4-5 k rpm. Is this normal?

Not normal, the handlebar shouldn't buzz at that RPM. Check your bar end weights, and if they're tight. Loose bar ends would also mean vibrating ends and buzzing sound. It can also mean, loose screws on the left side of the panels, i.e. left to the meter console, those trim panels. Get them all checked.

                Hi Everyone,

Posting after a long time. Have completed close to 50K on my bike.

I live in Delhi now, I recently had an accident and the head light of my bike is broken.

Can someone please advice the best service centre in Delhi where I can get the parts and my bike fixed as soon as possible.

P.S I used to live in Bangalore and have moved to Delhi Recently. Hence the question.

I have the 2018 cbr250r and I ride it only on weekends. Last weekend when I took the bike out, I noticed a but more buzzy vibrations on the handlebar, foot pegs and on my thighs. These vibrations kick in when I cross 5k rpm. It runs very smoothly below 5k rpm. I last serviced the bike in February (which was my first service).
Is this normal or is there some issue with the bike?

Yes, mild vibrations are observed during the running-in period, which is perfectly normal. Let the bike clock in a few more kays and it should be all fine, as the bike still is in the bedding in process. The bike should at least cross 6k to 8k kms, post which it will smoothen even more. Periodic replacement of engine oil and service is key to maintaining a healthy engine and performance.

                      Cheers!

Thanks for your help. Should i still follow certain speed limit till it crosses more kms? I kept it below 5k rpm till i completed 1k kms and the first service. Now i occasionally rev it further till 8k or 9k rpm. The bike's done around 1800 kms now.

Don't restrict the engine, rev it freely to 8 to 9k RPM and make sure the engine isn't pampered. The engine must go to both highs and lows for effective bed in. It's advisable to take the engine to higher RPM and speeds when possible.

Check the running in thread for more info.

                          Cheers!

The oil leakage is from head cover gasket. Gasket costs approximately Rs. 100/- and labor charge wouldn't exceed Rs. 400-500/-

The leakage is not much. You can continue for next 2 months as you said without any worry. Just maintain the engine oil level (hope you know how to check engine oil level).

Your second problem is not a problem. It's a rubber flap which hangs on the top of the motor head and is positioned well in your case. No need to worry.

                                Hello CBR 250 owners,

Need some small help regarding disc brakes.

Jan 22, 2018: 41,342 km; Changed Both Front and Rear Disc Pads (at local mechanical shop)

Mar 18, 2018: 42,300km. Heard rubbing noise even after 1,000km. Hence thought of doing self-service; Cleaned front brake caliper completely. First two seal kit changed. Pistons need replacement. Completely drained brake fluid and filled with Honda DOT3 brake fluid. (i was shocked to see many contaminants in brake fluid while completely draining it. damn sure these ASC guys never topped up or changed brake fluid till 40k )

June 13, 2018: 43,668 km: Still not satisfactory. second self service. Changed rear caliper piston and seals. Front caliper middle piston changed. Front reservoir diaphragm changed.Brake fluid changed to DOT4.

The mild rubbing is still there.... i did not have any time to do a service or take a look after that.

May 15, 2019: 48,100 km: Service at ASC. I have complained my issues to mechanic clearly. He Changed front and rear brake caliper. Thats it! even after saying many times they didnt open the piston and seals for inspection. He says, it is working well. When asked about the rubbing noise he says it is becuase of new disc pad. It will be gone soon!! (my front disc thickness is down by 1-2 mm)

My main problem is the ASC in my town is worst!! they kept my bike for 10 days and did only water wash! never gave to them after that!! I do service at nearby town ASC (50km away), which is somewhat better. They have spares in stock at-least!!

                                So few questions..

                                1. If i rotate the wheel i should not hear rubbing sound right ?

                                2. If my brake pads sticky are what else could the issue. apart from pistons and seals ?

                                3. How long should i wait after changing new brake pads for rubbing noise to vanish. ?

                                thanks!!

btw, i keep log from day one
